Since day one, Filipino babies have been surrounded by music. Our moms would sing to us while doing laundry, washing dishes, and putting us to sleep, and our neighbors would blast their karaoke till 10 PM. Taxis and public transportation always have their radios turned on to FM stations, which play mostly 80s and 90s songs. We have occasional singing competitions. Basically, we do everyday chores humming and singing to Journey, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion.

Maintain his high notes? Are you sure "maintain"? Are you saying after puberty that his voice range didn't change at all? Nor a bit lower than his younger era?

Most Filipino singers don't have formal training or voice lessons. We sing from the heart and we enjoy it. Sometimes we sound like our fave singers too. And we don't choose simple songs. We love the hard ones.

As you can see by the song choice, I think one of the reasons why Filipinos are really good at singing is because we really love western songs especially the 90's songs. The hardest songs of western singers like Mariah, Celine, Whitney and Many more are the songs we always love to listen to so that's why our singing style is like legendary levels too because that's our standard of singing and that's the song we grew up with.

During family gatherings, party or just for kicks we sing to earn some cash from adults. Our relatives, parents and friends would give us cash prize if we score a 100% in the KARAOKE RATINGS at the end of the dong
