WOW your collection is unreal! So incredible to see it has far more than just sci-fi and fantasy. Can't wait for future parts to this series!
"I don't want this video to be over 2 hours long"
*me with popcorn * "y tho"
Such a great collection Alex! I love that it's just part 1 and there is more to come 🤩 You have so many special or signed editions!
I recently read the Spear Cuts Through Water and loved it
Thanks so much for the kind words Jolien! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! The Spear Cuts Through Water has been on my tbr ever since it came out and I can't wait to read it! So happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Amazing collection Alex. Great info and background on the books too. Thanks!
Wow, you have an amazing collection! Can't wait to see the ones in the living room :D
Awesome video, Alex! It was really nice to get a peek behind the curtain for the books we don't get to see in the videos. That's an amazing collection you have there! Happy reading to you!
Wow, this video was well worth the wait!! As someone who reads almost exclusively on kindle and isn't really a collector, I still absolutely adored watching this. I love that you have so many first and signed editions 🤩
Especially a big fan of your Stephen King (particularly The Dark Tower) and Red Rising collections! Thanks for sharing, Alex ☺
This is the best bookshelf tour I’ve ever seen!! A fantastic collection of books, Alex. I want to say that I’m jealous but I’m actually happy for you. I also love that you’ve the books covered in transparent cover. Really nice video..
@@TallGuyReads Hey do you plan to read Demon cycle series by Peter.V Brett anytime. Seems like most Booktubers somehow ignore it.
Glad to hear your better. Good video. Love library tours. I am currently building a writing shed that will have a library in it. Videos of my progress are on my channel.
What a collection
You are missing Blood Meridian. Fix that omission ASAP. Grab some Doestevsky while you're at it. Also, you might want to check out Tristan Egolf. I knew him. He had a promising literary career before succumbing to despair and ending it all. You've got a nice collection; keep building it.
Awesome stuff, man! Dang, what a stellar collection. Those McCammon hardcovers had me making heart eyes at the screen. I want to read Mine so badly, too. Perhaps a buddy read in September or October? 👀
Dude...YES 100% down for a buddy read of Mine! Name the time and I'm in!
Glad you're on the mend--and what a tour! Glad to see some Dan Simmons. Definitely read The Terror, it's fantastic! Oh, and you have R. Scott Bakker and Christopher Ruocchio, my favorite author and one of my newer favorites, respectively!
Thanks so much! I really want to read The Terror - might be prioritizing it this October! Yesss I love both RSB and Ruocchio!
@@TallGuyReads I'll look forward to your reaction to The Terror! And hey, great to hear from you--I've missed you these past few weeks!
Hey this was an awesome tour. I’m so jealous of your Dark Tower collection it’s so good even the Wind Through The Keyhole copy was awesome.
I just started my own BookTube channel, I’m mostly going to focus on King at first he’s my favorite author.
Also I love fire-starter as well it really surprised me.
Yesss love to hear it! I will definitely be checking out your channel! Welcome to Booktube!
@@TallGuyReads Thanks man! I just posted my first video, I reviewed The Shining. You could be my first view as I won’t have foot traffic anytime soon. 😂
Wow that cover of revival is really great someday I'm totally will be buying the dark tower books
gotta get the 2nd half of book of the new sun man :)
Great shelves Alex. Too much to comment on... but I'll just say that obviously I love the signed Hobbs (jealous), and read the Expanse! Probably my favorite sci fi series and the show is fantastic too.
Yes man! I definitely want to read it soon! Once I close out a few of the series I'm readng currently I'll be sure to pick up Leviathan Wakes!
im new here when looking for more book channels and you have a ton of great stuff here.
Speaking as a big fan of Sun Eater and Red Rising I think you'd really like The Expanse. The series got a fantastic ending too, definitely worth a read!
Yes! That's on my short list for epic sci-fi/space opera series that I still need to get to! Hopefully will be chipping away at that soon!
Im late to the party, but as far as Jay Kristoff goes, cant recommend Nevernight enough. Its my favorite fast food fantasy trilogy. Its not some high fantasy work of art, but its a page turner that will keep you thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
Carrie is my favorite Stephen King.
Such an impressive collection! Your shelves put mine to shame 😄
But we do have a small handful of the same editions, like Passenger/Stella Maris, Foundation Trilogy, and I've got a lot of 1st edition King books (not his earliest ones, though).
Otherwise I have a lot of mass market pbb, many used or from ebay. I still love em tho
Loving every book. Where do you get your cover protectors from?
Great collection. How do you cover/laminate your hardcovers?
90% of my reading is from the library, but this makes me so jealous. Might have to start building a little collection of quality stuff
I read a ton from the library! If you're interested in collecting, just start out with some all time favorites and then go from there! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I am so jealous of your horror collection
Hahaha thank you! It's definitely been the focus of my collecting lately!
I would have recommended reading The Black Company before Malazan but they're all great
You have a dust jacket with every book. Can you tell me where I can get something like this?
Where do you find most of these editions? Especially the Dark Towers. Super impressive collection cheers Alex!
A total combination of used bookstores, online booktores, and collector groups! Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the vid!
I wish my collection was as organized as yours. Any tips?
I wish mine was more organized hahaha...I think a good tip for me is just having some type of rhythm to the organization. Whether it's organized by author, or publication date, or publisher, or whatever it may be...it definitely helps fill in the bulk of the space in a way that seems organized and makes it easy to find stuff!
Whats the wrapping that seems to be on your hadbacks, for example the Cormac McCarthy ones? Do the US versions simply come like that, or have you bought it yourself? If so, where do i get it?
Thats just mylar wrapping! I typically purchase it from Brodart but there are a few other sites that have it as well!
Yooooo that copy of revival…..
So you've read the Hannibal Lecter books? Would you recommend them? I have considered buying them before as I love the movies (particularly the first and third ones).
Great collection there. I don't understand how you have room for anything besides bookshelves in your house, but you do you :)
I absolutely recommend them! That said, I do think Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs are much, much stronger than Hannibal and Hannibal Rising, but I enjoyed all 4!
@@TallGuyReads Same was true of the movies, but I didn't see Hannibal Rising.
That I am legend cover is amazing damn... #JudgeBooksByTheirCovers. Okay... how do you have 3 subtarenean press editions of Malazan while I can't even find a single copy of Dust of Dreams 😭😭😭
Hahaha I love that cover!! and ahh you'll find one soon just keep vigilant!
Another qestion. Do you ONLY buy hardcovers(assuming a hardcover exists) even if you have no idea wether you will enjoy the book? That seems very very expensive :P
Hahaha I do not…I usually seek out first editions (which tend to be hardcovers) of my favorite books or favorite authors. If I end up reading it and not enjoying a book, I just usually resell or donate that book!
@@TallGuyReads ah. So essentially you buy the paperback, and if you like it you replace it with a first edition hardback or special edition? Unless you already trust the author, in which case you go straight to hardback?
@@NutsForBooks Exactly! Plus using Libby as well to try books on my kindle or audio from my library!
Come back alex!
Quick it's an emergency, I need your address and also the times you and your wife won't be home, don't ask any questions!!
This collection is unreal, I didn't know I could get so jealous of material things 😂
You ever hear of this thing called a paperback my dude
I didn't enjoy Johnathan Franzen's book freedom it was such a bore to me
I've heard totally split opinions on his books tbh...excited to see where I land!
Constructive Criticism...Hard to watch...I would have set the camera up on a tripod back a few feet so you can see the whole book shelf...and since you take pretty much all the books off the shelf, you could have just showed them closer to the camera for your close ups, but the camera being shaky and you trying to do everything with one hand was not great. Maybe something to consider for future Bookshelf Tours...or maybe not. : ) But yeah, a full scan of the room, or at least a zoomed out view of the shelves and what they all look like as a whole would have been good. The zoomed in, one handed shaky video wasn't great. Good stuff though, you have a great collection.
Yup first time I've done one of these but I appreciate the feedback 👍
I’d insure this library lol!! Amazing collection man.
