He's insane, got robbed 2 times against Canelo. First fight wasn't even close, 2nd was more of a draw but I would still give it to triple g. Corrupt boxing world man
Underrated? I don’t know about that. Everyone in boxing forums, boxing videos, and casual fans love him. If any, I would say he is even a little overrated because everyone thinks he’s a p4p great yet his resume is a little thin to be one.
Really no idea how to explain my feelings towards Gerald McClellan. The whole animal abuse thing is horrible, and people say there is karma about what happened to him. But if you happen to watch the documentary about his last fight you will see that there is still a human being, and I am not justifying what he did. G-Man was so feared and he had everything to be a great champion. He had the speed, power and ironically he could really take a beating, his chin was so strong. Yet his head just couldn't take it. People say Nigel Benn caused McClellan the braindamage but for me personally the punches he took from Julian Jackson started it all. And Gerald took every hit like nothing, until the fight with Nigel. G-Man was only 25 years old when that happened. He was not even in his prime yet. His life was just starting. And so many factors were against him that day. A referee who had no idea what he is doing, Nigel being dirty, the completely unknown dude in McClellans corner who never thought "Hey maybe he is getting hurt, throw the towel", and Gerald himself, going to fights without a real trainer and a manager. It was just a perfect storm for the wrong reasons. Whatever McClellan did in his life, he already payed too much for it. Now blind, almost deaf and not able to walk by himself or without aid, his sister and guardian angel is taking care of him. Thats life I guess... You can be looking so mean and strong, but none is safe out there. I hope Gerald McClellan finds peace.
The real actual damage was done by Nigel Benn make no mistake about that.Because if the damage was done against Julian Jackson like many people assume.Gerald McClellan would have had much more clear signs of brain damage well before the Nigel Benn fight. The brain is too delicate for that amount of time to past and not have shown greater affected damage to Gerald McClellan. All said and done Benn took his best shots and fought back hard and landed his own best shots which clearly done tissue damage to the brain of Gerald McClellan. And just because a boxer seems to be taking punches well doesn’t mean they aren’t doing severe damage to that boxers brain tissue.Other cases of boxers collapsing and even dying have happened in the past in boxing.Where a boxer fought a particularly hard tough fight seemed okay on leaving the ring. And have ended up dying hours or even several days after the fight.Difference was in those past eras of boxing, they didn’t have access to more modern medical facilities and medical technologies and techniques that ended up saving the life of Gerald McClellan. As back in those days of boxing boxer Gerald McClellan would definitely have died with the brain damage injuries he had sustained by Nigel Benn that night.
@@peterpereira3653 1) McClellan did show signs of serious brain damage after the Jackson fight, he was reported to be struggling seriously with headaches and bouts of confusion. 2) some people don't get those serious signs of brain damage (Jake LaMotta took beatings that would have ended most people forever and stayed perfectly lucid and clear-spoken until his death in his 90s), and oftentimes those signs of brain damage don't present themselves for yeaaars after the damage is actually sustained

A little wiki on Mcclellan, sad ending - After taking a knee and being counted out McClellan lost consciousness he was rushed to the hospital, had emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. He spent eleven days in a coma and he was found to have suffered extensive brain damage. He lost his eyesight, the ability to walk unassisted and was reported as being 80 percent deaf. Sports Illustrated ran an article about the fight and its outcome one week after the fight. McClellan's family flew to be by his side, and later he was flown back to his home country. He has recently recovered some ability to walk, being helped by a cane, but he has not recovered his eyesight. In addition to being blind, his short-term memory was also profoundly affected. His three sisters, particularly Lisa McClellan, are responsible for his care. In a 2011 documentary broadcast by ITV (who originally screened the fight live in the UK), Lisa stated that Gerald is in fact not deaf, but that he has trouble with comprehension when spoken to. Tarick Salmaci, a Kronk Gym fighter claimed later in an interview that he sparred with McClellan some time before the Benn fight, and after being hit with a jab, McClellan started to blink hard and the session had to be stopped. McClellan initially claimed that he was thumbed but later admitted in the locker room that he was in fact seriously hurt. Salmaci said that he found strange that a fighter with McClellan's chin, wearing a headgear is being hurt by a jab, and that when he noticed McClellan blinking during the Benn fight the same way, he was immediately aware that he was in serious trouble.

Thanks for the video and love the channel but had to point out that Bob Fitzsimmons and his family moved from England to New Zealand as a child not Australia as stated in the clip. Love the channel keep up the good work.
Great list!! Jackson, Hagler, Robinson, McClellan, Monzón, Benn, man! G-Man McClellan vs "Lights Out" Toney would have been a great match up. Also nice to see Hagler get his due. I think he is grossly overlooked. Would be nice to see a short clip of honorable mentions if possible. Can you compile a welterweight list like this?
Gerald McClellan, or "M'Quellin" as Don King called him, was not the victim of Nigel Benn nor any other single fighter. His injuries were accumulative. Perhaps it was a slightly stronger nervous system that allowed him to absorb more punishment than a man should. The point is that no one person is to blame for his unfortunate injuries. His current state is the result of a series of powerful blows over a great many fights. I think it is a disservice to lay the blame on Nigel Benn.
InformationIsTheEdge Could also be that McClellan sacked off Emmanuel Steward as his coach, replacing him with the patently out of his depth Stan Johnson, that he had to shed about 30lbs to get down to super middle leaving him dangerously dehydrated as well as latent damage.
@@Salieri47 Back in the day I looked at this story pretty close but I cannot cite any source so you may want to double check me. I'd picked up somewhere that during his training camp, leading up to the fight with Benn, a sparring partner gave McClellan a serious punch that brought one of the trainers over to look at McClellan and it was the trainer that discovered the vision issue. My guess, being a fighter, McClellan fluffed it off like it was nothing so camp could resume and he could go get paid. Just my guess though.

G man had that injury well before benn fought him,he was blinking all the time during training, it was inevitable, just saying it wasn't Ben's fault !!
@@jacksugar7220 No these neurological signs linked to head trauma weren’t well understood, thats why so many boxers back in the day got bad brain injuries such as Watson and Mcclelan.
+Harri Rifhad Best way to fight GGG is to stand and fight like Benn, but Eubanks chin was better than Benn`s, Eubank would make the mistake of backing off too much against GGG. If Chris stood and fought he had the punch to get respect.
Mark Ant They both hit very hard.... Likely harder than Genady, but in a different, explosive power delivery as opposed to just strength...... Prime Eubank and Benn would KO Genady imo..... Maybe Watson too.
Harri Rifhad GGG has a great chin Eubank couldn`t stop him because he would be backpeddling a lot Watson didn`t punch hard enough to stop Genady, Benn`s the only one on the list who punched as hard or harder! Benn at middleweight mauy have punched harder than GGG but he didn`t have Genady`s defensive skill and though Benn became better trained at super middle his punch didn`t have the same effect at the higher weight so take from that what you will!
Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj All three were Exceedingly good at Middleweight.... This was pretty much the middleweight Golden Age..... If GGG was in the mix back then he wouldn't have been on top most likely..... No one had Watsons accuracy, Eubanks poise in picking power shots or Benns pouncing brutish rage and resilience.
@Naeem Islam Did you see GGG's face? Did you hear opinions of pro boxers? Abel Sanchez even said GGG was losing. Didn't do enough for the win. Mike Tyson saw Canelo winning. No one smashed GGG's face like that. He couldn't even KO Canelo either. Canelo walked him down. And Deryvachenko got robbed but you GGG fangirls cry robbery against Canelo yet even GGG fans admitted Deryvachenko did enough to beat GGG. Even GGG's face expression proves me right. And that time he didn't have Abel Sanchez with him.
Golovkin was no longer at its peak ... Then Alvarez and Derevyanchenko are excellent boxers! Golovkin at his best is one of the best middleweights in history. If they had been of the same time they could have offered us a huge fight I think!

@@ericgeorge5483 I know, but this is a bad list? Jesus Christ your dumb
Great video. It was a tragedy what happen to McClellan,. I would have loved to see him fight Jr as a pro.
Love this channel. It's like watching history of the greatest warriors in one movie
Really enjoyed that, thank you for posting.
This channel is so fucking awesome.
I always remember the Eubank Benn 1 fight for Eubank being in to much pain to do an interview in the ring after knocking Benn out.
that was a brilliant video...very historic...informative...amazing to the 'IN'th' degree! Thank you very much!! More please!
Thanks for going all the way back in history. Too many highlight reels only go back a few years.
GGG is such a gentleman but a terminator
You should do most dangerous super middle weights and light heavyweight/cruiserweight.
I love your channel, sir. Keep up the good work.
I honestly just stream these videos for back round noise. Such amazing videos. I always end up watching them instead of doing what im.suppose to be doing haha
Where is James Toney? He was a killer at middleweight and is one of the best middleweights of all time.
Hamza Khaliq he's garbage
N D he was good at middleweight but sucked at heavyweight.
James Toney could arguably be placed on this list
@Jovan Flores It has nothing to do with liking anyone, it's just about objective skill and accomplishments. That's all.
@@nd2913 GGG garbage who has he beat he never dominated one champion
Gerald McClellan story still breaks my heart, everytime I see it.
Rick Hertz It's harsh but it's called karma
@@Chief2Moon karma doesn’t exist, only fruitcakes believe in things like that.
Thank you for all your efforts! Love the channel.
Up close watching Benn hit the heavy bag in the gym was awesome, seriously powerful, something I'll never forget, loved it at the t.beckett gym.old Kent road
do a top 10 dangerous light heavyweights
I've seen an old school clip of sugar ray and he look like a modern fighter..... before his time no doubt... . RIP
Modern fighters aren't shit. That is a deep disrespect towards the true GOAT.
Casual as F.
@@jaredphelps4226 modern as in a very skilled with 0 comp. Not his fault, and I Respect anyone who does it pro or amateur!
I love this channel and what an awesome list of great fighters. The Gerald McClellen story is tragic and sad and he absolutely was a talented hard punching phenom.
Love the videos and love boxing keep up the great work
Loving your work as always. My favourite weight class. 👍
this channel is dope
Thanks for the video and love the channel but had to point out that Bob Fitzsimmons and his family moved from England to New Zealand as a child not Australia as stated in the clip. Love the channel keep up the good work.
Great list!! Jackson, Hagler, Robinson, McClellan, Monzón, Benn, man! G-Man McClellan vs "Lights Out" Toney would have been a great match up. Also nice to see Hagler get his due. I think he is grossly overlooked. Would be nice to see a short clip of honorable mentions if possible. Can you compile a welterweight list like this?
Bob Fitzsimmons lived and fought out of New Zealand as his home nation not Australia.
@@stevieg667 Could have been a factor. Another reason not to blame Benn for the entire matter.
There were reports that McClellan had vision issues while training. True, false, or exaggerated, who knows?
@@Salieri47 Back in the day I looked at this story pretty close but I cannot cite any source so you may want to double check me. I'd picked up somewhere that during his training camp, leading up to the fight with Benn, a sparring partner gave McClellan a serious punch that brought one of the trainers over to look at McClellan and it was the trainer that discovered the vision issue. My guess, being a fighter, McClellan fluffed it off like it was nothing so camp could resume and he could go get paid. Just my guess though.
Since ive found this channel, its become my fav channel!!!
Great informative vid!
MMH beat the hardest hitting middle weights of the 70's & 80's.
But not against GGG if anybody can beat halger is ggg
Didn't He lose to Ray Leonard?
you call that a loss? 🤣
@@josephshields2922 the fight is very controversial, from what I seen more people say hagler won, it's a great fight still
Is this a series? if i look on your channel will i find a featherweight/welterweight video? that'd be good to watch
AT 8:35- That Carlos Monzon piece could have concluded that Monzon died on January 8, 1995 in a car accident in Argentina.
He was 52.
You guys do a GREAT JOB !!!
The narrator has a PERFECT VOICE for what he does.
BEST BOXING CHANNEL ON
CZcams-, Hands down
No pun intended.
Thanks
Great content as always. I would like to add Marcel Cerdan to the honorable Middle Weight most dangerous. ✌
Every time I hear how Gerald Maclellan ended his career I get tears in my eyes... what a horrible way to end a life.
Not a great way to live it either.
G man had that injury well before benn fought him,he was blinking all the time during training, it was inevitable, just saying it wasn't Ben's fault !!
Derek Greene Most likely he had that blinking symptom since his 1st fight vs Julian Jackson. He complained of regular headaches since that fight.
@@lexsoft3969 . Doctors should have picked up on it in that case.
@@jacksugar7220 Brain damage wasn’t well understood then.
@@mahadkamran5914 .It was. Especially by doctors. Im certainly no doctor, but the sings were obvious to me.
@@jacksugar7220 No these neurological signs linked to head trauma weren’t well understood, thats why so many boxers back in the day got bad brain injuries such as Watson and Mcclelan.
Great video thanks for posting
Love the Adrenaline Rush track at the end. Boxing and Twista go hand and hand. Haha
Benn, Eubank vs Gennady would have been great viewing.
Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj Don`t you think the Benn v GGG fight would be a little more exciting because Benn`s punch and aggression?
Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj All three were Exceedingly good at Middleweight.... This was pretty much the middleweight Golden Age..... If GGG was in the mix back then he wouldn't have been on top most likely..... No one had Watsons accuracy, Eubanks poise in picking power shots or Benns pouncing brutish rage and resilience.
386 fights - GGG
You hard for playing that "adrenaline rush" at the end. A mythical classic that you dont hear nearly enough.
The very best boxing channel on CZcams hands-down
7:59 - Never knew Jim Morrison was a middleweight :D
god damn! 34 fight with 20 wins in the first round. That's some absurd shit right there.
Lol GGG would'nt stand a chance against Gerald and Julian
Yooo. The Adrenaline Rush beat at the end. Respect for that.
Great video. Thank u for your work.
GGG might not be the most dangerous but that man might have the toughest chin ever in any division
Ummm where is Takamura Mamoru??????
Evanhairgelion Jesus I JUST mentioned that in another video on this channel lol. Glad to see Hajime No Ippo lovers
he kills bears with his bare hands. He deserves a place in the list, I suppose
Real ones my friends.
I better be number one in their featherweight list
Sendou Takeshi nah bro, you good but you lost to ippo twice and Vorg.
Best boxing channel ever we need a MMA channel like this one
Golovkin looking like drago in thumbnail
I definitely thought ggg won the first fight against Canelo but I didn't think he did enough in the 2nd against Canelo.
Dream fight: Golovkin vs Hagler
Mmmh I am not sure!
Hagler wins. GGG got whooped by Canelo and Deryvachenko.
GGG is the best!
Bravo!!!! I was waiting to see where you placed my favorite fighter of all time Marvin hagler!!!!!! Thank you for recognizing just how awesome he really was and could have gone gone even further if not for the outright robbery in the fight with ray scared to death Leonard a fight he won and because of one stupid judge they gave it to ray good thing for him the fight was only 12rounds cause he would have never survived a lover fight so good job in your picks
Another great video.
it hurts to see that Gerald McClellan loss again. such a shame. great talent.
Jennai Shirow he lost point is hes not perfect
michael jensen he could have been the greatest, shame it was taken from all of us I don’t think we were ready to experience a fighter of his skill in his prime
Can you make a top 10 footworks in boxing list
I would have Jersey Joe walcot in that list
The fact that people hate on Golovkin just show that even the best has haters
Why no JAMES 'LIGHTS OUT' TONEY?
Major Young Killa Toney is undoubtedly one of the greatest middleweights ever, but this video is about fear factor/destructive power.
He's a defense minded fighter not a ko machine
This is about people who are “dangerous”. Toney was a AWESOME boxer but he wasn’t dangerous, very little power at middleweight.
Major Young Killa cuz he doesn’t belong there
-Lower k.o. percent & number than everyone on the list.
Great boxer outright, not suitable for this list though.
/additionally note: one of the heaviest doping top fighters. (positive test ~2005)
At 160 pounds, Bob Fitszimmons faced a 300-pound-fighter... oh, and by the way, Fitszimmons KO'd him in the first round.
holy shit
The original pound for pound king. Bob was the first boxer in history to win belts in 3 weight divisions.
!!yeah that was before blacks and mexicans invaded BOXING!!
That was some Bruce Lee shit
Hands down the best boxing channel ......
Love love the channel. New sub. You do good work my dude. Just my personal opinion but I think Monzon should be stricken in future. Granted this is a "most dangerous", and I can appreciate that inside and outside and outside of the ring are two different things, but that is one evil mfka that warrants oblivion. No angels here but still human, after all. F him.
He was still probably the greatest middleweight of all time , phycho or no phycho .
at 10:55 mins, slow the video down to the slowest speed. it was a clear dive!!!
film footage from a hundred years ago very little is clear including the sequence singled out. It seems very possible its a dive but it clearly being a dive ??? bahahahaha
I doubt Jack johnson could be persuaded into taking a dive, probably tried to duck it and got caught on the temple
Absolutely 🧐
Marvin Hagler best Middleweight ever hands down!
i dont think he would have beat roy or toney
bitch ,you're dead he definitely would've beat toney but Roy could've won by points however I think hagler in his prime could knock him out
Darkhan Augustus I love marvelous too man greatest southpaw ever
Bleach Consumer absolutely Marvelous One is the best Middleweight ever.
He beats them all.
Southpaw who is also Amber dexterous.
Great chin , awesome defense and offense.
Speed and power.
Hagler clobbered the very best fighters into the canvas.
Never ducked or dodged any opponent.
hagler's biggest fights are an UD agaisnt a former lightweight, knocking
out heanrs who was going up in weight and a close fight against
leonard.... none of them were middelweight ,roy fought toney and bernard
who are two of the best middelweights of all times , and then he went
up in weight in mutiple weight division up to heavyweight something that
hagler refused to do even once
Love your knowledge of the best sport on the planet
Any way to see the heavyweight one you made a while ago? It was pretty cool video.
