      One must indulge in tea when working with the mind on such tasks Sir Michael :)

    This weather -probably not needed , but you can drop the diaphragms in some tepid water to soften em a touch - old credit card is handy to hold diaphragm in place when putting the top on - some supermarket loyalty cards can be handy as they sometime don't have embossed numbers on em -nice job - and yeah - I would replace both as My JD law sez the new one will put pressure on the old one and it'll blow lol .

    Interesting video M'lud, I wonder if you could get the part that broke 3D printed ( just a thought).Bike sounded great on the test run, all the best to you both 😀👍👍

      Thanks Geoff, maybe I could but I think the superglue has done the trick. I'd love a 3D printer, that looks like hours of fun :)

    Nice video, man. I actually had one of those needles fall apart once too. I must have struggled for a month trying to get my 70 to run right. Finally took off the carbs to rebuild them (again) and there it was.it was a new replacement too. I went back to the original too. So surprised they are pressed. Q: do you know if the holes in the plastic needle retainer need to line up with the holes in the slide? I always wonder that. I haven’t ever noticed a difference but they must be there for a reason. Just curious.

      Hi Brian, nice to hear from you, as far as I know the holes do line up, just can't remember why lol

    Watched it with me headphones on and others in the room had their bloody hillbilly music on loud enough to disturb my watching pleasure. When I asked them to turn it down they called me a tosser and told me to pull my head in. How rude !!!

    Could that plastic part be 3D printed? Looks a simple enough part.

    • @HepcatHarley
      @HepcatHarley  Před 3 lety

      I bet it could, I don't know anybody with such equipment though. It was fine in the end :) Good to have you dropping in Gareth :)

      @@HepcatHarley Just seen your vid of your 'new' (then) lathe, very nice. That part could be a nice little project to have a crack at making. I do fancy having a lathe in the workshop one day.

    • @HepcatHarley
      @HepcatHarley  Před 3 lety +1

      @@garethowen7050 I like it due to it being pretty portable and yet accurate enough for the kind of jobs I do with it. Yes maybe when time/need allows I could try machining one out of aluminium or delrin/acetal. Love the little lathe, I'd love a small milling machine too but we can't have everything lol
