Thanks for the simple experiment to help with the mid bikes. The mid is a good fit for most people
Demoed one from the outpost back in June, it’s an amazing bike. I can’t say I enjoy the ebike weight balance, but coming from big enduro bikes the climbing prowess is on another level.
20mi, 2,900ft elevation gain, ran it in blue and green and had three bars left at the end. I’m 155lb with kit.

Love this thing looks fantastic and is well thought out, but 16k AUD here is a struggle for me to rationalise. I feel like manufacturers are capitalising when you can buy a JetSki or an ICE motorbike for less. I understand these are “boutique” bikes but ouch. I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to afford one but I’m not sure I can pull the trigger.
First struggle is getting one in Australia. On the waiting list but don't have high hopes
Ran mine to 0% yesterday and had to finish a climb without any assist. Ran it in river the whole time. Singletrack climbs.

Can't wait to try this bike. I think it is the ebike I have been looking for. Just sold my MetaPower in anticipation. But will I be able to keep up with all my friends on their full power ebikes? Will the reduced weight make it worth it the extra effort?
You can but you have to put in more effort. Did this last week and I was in River while my friends on their Repeaters were in trail mode. On short punches I was right there but as the climbs stretched out they slowly pulled away. I’m 215lbs or so and we did 15mi and 3,300’ up steep singletrack climbs and I still had 25% left at the end.
Were you riding in glacier?
So I'm trying to compare these numbers to other bikes and wondering if less than 14 miles at mid-power is good. I feel like the elevation gain at over 5k is good but have seen numbers on other bikes with the same elevation gain but getting closer to 30 miles while running at max power.
Distance isn't a good measure, elevation is but you'll get max elevation on a nice smooth fireroad like they showed there.
What assist mode are you running in?
River which is the middle one
Are people able to easily purchase an extra battery if they want to go on a longer ride? What does the extra battery weigh?
2.2 kghete is no range extender yet. Probably next year .
@@ProjectZillertal I think they mean they want a 2nd battery, not a range extender. I would also like to know if individual batteries will be available.
The batteries (main battery) are easy to get in Europe. The extender is end of 2024
This battery in around 17 -20 degrees Celsius will have 15-20% more range. It was 7 degrees when this test performed?
Do you think it will add that much range Lukas, it seems unlikely from my experience on current ebike
@@ajandlucy my trek rail has always around 15 % less range when temp drops below 5 celcius
Having sold batteries yes low or very high temp can have 15-20% difference.
What model watch is that

why? just get a 2nd battery. range extender is for bikes with non removable batteries
