i made a couple new discoveries while making this: Brutal Blast is extremely good against MF, it can: - punish his run-ins (if timed well) - punish tornado - punish X projectile - dispel clones - get 2! punishes on raging storm twitter.com/StickmanSham/status/1325650301513322498 also, Chaos Blade can punish all of the above, and sometimes can net you an upwards of 4 hits if he doesn't block early, and MF cannot reverse time if you hit him with it unlike Sonic Blade If you're wondering what the mines are for, they're for 2nd phase when he casts Vanish,; MF will jump over mines if you place them and take zero damage even if he walks over them, but while he's invisible, you want him to waste as much time as possible and forcing him to jump will prevent him from potentially casting Doom, Meteor/Mega Flare spam, or the many unwinnable combinations of 2nd phase attacks he can put together. If you're wondering why I chose Royal Radiance over Chaos Ripper, I opted for the extra command style meter gain instead of the extra 2 strength because holding onto command style finishers can be good for emergency i-frames. getting Rockbreaker is also good as fuck because it's animation and lingering hitbox is great for manually swinging at MF during his invisibility, and does great damage if it lands. song name at the start: Out of the Dark - Evangelion 3.0 OST

Imo, KH is an action RPG game where friendship can make you save the world. Needing to time your attack/looking for windows to attack the boss while (imo) KH movement are floaty and the boss got invincibility time PLUS needing the ability to evade death one time/combo PLUS still troublesome and cheap even in lv 99, ain't fun. P.S. about invincibility times, sham has shown me that many boss can be comboed, yep.

Osaka Team's solution for broken Mine magic spam: make MF do a goofy jump over them with full immunity to damage. Phew, almost had to think about boss design, for a second there.
@@lolcat it takes time to put together a deck that works well together...and also I recall having to grind individual cards or something...maybe grind for particular cards. I loved BBS but haven't beaten it all. It has a really fun system.
It's insane to think that the same team that gave us this horrendous boss fight also gave us the KH3 data org and Yozora boss fights which were amazingly well designed

Tavotabotato I recently started playing this game again after a 3 year break and first tried all of the super bosses as level 1 terra (well, all of them except no heart anyways, not gonna lie 😋)
Terra is tanky as all get out. When going through the game, I found that he could rather consistently tank multiple hits that would usually put Aqua or Ventus into 1 HP mode. Honestly his fight with MS was easier than Ven's since he could take so many hits before going into critical health. Aqua was still the easiest because of her broken roll. lol

We had MF fight, which was one of the hardest in the franchise. And Young Xehanort ended up being one of the easiest (well, in my opinion) members of the "4RealThisTime Organization XIII"
Dude nice. Brutal Blast became a favorite of mine when I learned you could nail a decent bit of Unversed bosses and larger enemies with it. And Rockbreaker seems to have a lot of stagger with its regular attacks. Kudos for showing people the light of BBS!
Man, this reminded me of how crappy Osaka Team's mechanics for BBS were. Remember in the overseas version of BBS, you couldn't break away from Collision Magnet? Here's a little-known tidbit: for extended combos from bosses such as Terra-Xehanort's Ars Solum and MF's Blade Combinations, you're actually inflicted with Stun at several points until the combination finishes. That's why you seemingly randomly end up Stunned if a boss ends up dropping the combo. Otherwise, you'd actually be able to either mash Block or Evade and probably escape.
I'm playing through the series for the first time and I legit love Terra. He is my favourite of the 3 for both story and gameplay. Yes he doesn't have infinite eye frames on chain rolling but that doesn't bother me. I found that when I play as both Ven and Aqua, I go into these long series of just dodging and waiting to find a moment to heal/attack while with Terra, I play smarter, more aggressive, and just out right better. I find him more fun to play, and ironically enough, I beat Armor of Eraques (spelling?), and No Heart first try with Terra while dying a couple of times with Ven and Aqua on those fights. The final kicker is that Unknown (I don't know his name, pls dont spoil) never did the X projectile for me as Terra, He instead did doom clock (where he snatches you and you have to tap x before your timer runs out) throughout the entire fight. For some reason the timer reset when he was low on health which saved me. He only did that attack when I was Aqua, and I don't know why. Anyway, I loved this game, as well as completing it and can't wait to watch Re:Coded and then onto the following games.
Even though it was probably due to hardware limitations, I really wish KH had gone for the more grounded combat that BBS had. The attacks, especially Terras, have so much more weight to them than in other entries.
