I gave away nearly everything and left home to travel. Ended up living on the street for a year in New Orleans. People would help without me even asking. I jump at the chance to buy a few groceries or offer a couple dollars to others in need. The world is made better one act of kindness at a time. 💞
new Orleans is my home town. warms my heart to hear this. it explains a lot about my family. when I was small my parents would always teach me to help anyone in need. whenever we passed a homeless person my mom would always buy them food and tell me to hand it to them. it made me how I am today. I absolutely HAVE to help any and everyone I can, if I can.

Do you know how many people are homeless or have lost their home now because of the economy? No. You don't. People aren't always wanting money. Some want a chance. Or deoderant, or body wash, or a f'ing sandwich, ffs. If they dont accept essentials, then yeah, theyve dug their own grave.

We have a homeless ministry here in Lake Charles, La. and just a couple days ago went out with food and met 4 people living under a tree. We prayed that God would bless them with a hotel room because we didn’t have the funds, we can only bring food right now but a couple of them came to church yesterday and testified that a man stopped and got them a hotel room that night!! Hallelujah 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 God sees and cares about our brothers and sisters in the homeless community and He uses His people to be a blessing. If we would only do what we can it would really help so much. Praying for this young man God supply his every need in Jesus Mighty Name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

A woman and a mom that suffered from loosing everything in a blink of an eye to sleeping on sidewalks and in the forest and knowing you had to move everyday and being looked at as not human is the hardest and saddest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m not in that position any longer but I feel this pain. Not everyone who is homeless is bad. We all are just one step away from falling.
It's Never a Blink of a Eye....It was things that Lead to it...Even if it was a Fire the Red Cross and other Services will assist you....People need to take Care of their Finances.
All homeless people are where they are for a reason. Usually it's their own poor decisions. Therefore, they get what they deserve.

Having spent years volunteering at homeless shelters, I can assure you, 80% of homeless people WANT to be homeless. You can offer them a job, and they might even take it, but within 2 weeks (their first paycheck) they’re right back on the streets.

No, it's really a Texas thing. NYC spends over $30,000 per homeless person per year. Red states act as if they can be all moral and not have state or city income taxes, but this is what you get without that.

And if this man went higher and put a lot of effort into getting leaf camouflage, no one would notice or bother him in a tree.
Studied a homeless man every time I walked home from high school who lived high in a huge tree and wondered about how others never noticed his bunker, but now I realize.
It’s because it’s well hidden in the thick of leaves.
This was the type of tree to never go leafless in the fall and stayed evergreen all year long.
That guy must have had a mansion up there and in the cover of night as well he would be practically invisible.
The only reason i even noticed him is because I am very autistic and would look up to look at branches everyday or down at the sidewalk and see the symmetry of things, only to notice socks or other clothes high in those branches, And realized there was a small wooden corner sticking out of the leaves that would occasionally get covered by leaves again the next time I walked and looked up. I couldn’t make out an entire structure but I could see many times the clothes or occasional pair of big dirty looking shoes on the ground by the tree.
Homeless people that can do this deserve to have their tree houses.
As for why the homeless guy chose the area he did, I’m not sure. There were plenty of free fruit trees you could pick and eat from in that area so I’m sure he had fresh citrus fruit all year long. Since then all those fruit trees are now long gone sadly. And that huge tree by the high school is no more either.
But Hoping the homeless tree master I saw as a kid is still doing his tree living!
It seems glorious to be able to live rent free.
Oohhh this brought tears to my way when her said “and I’m a good guy” I pray someone bin the Austin community has stepped in to help this broken gentleman.

It's actually pretty clever... Most shelters can be dangerous, homeless encampments are just as bad. He's up in a tree and off the streets.
In homeless shelters you have to watch out, most of them having mental issues and most of them have knives.
In homeless encampments the biggest problem are drugs, they get high and trigger all their mental illness.

I help people in his situation daily I am a human service's worker that have seen the worst in people that choose to criticize people in this stage of life. What I would love to know is how many times you have turned your back on someone that needed help?
This reminds me of this time where I saw a homeless person in a hammock way up in a pine tree, and a really tall one, it was crazy. He must have been a climber!

I know a guy that had a company.
He had 3 employees. Equipment servicing. He trained two techs, and it went well for two years.
He went on vacation, came back to an empty office and no equipment.
His records gone as well.
As it turns out the employees all quit , took what they wanted and left it unlocked for two weeks.
Opened a new company , same routes, same clients. The fabricated story was pushed so well , the clients thought the owner sold the biz and left town with the profits, leaving the employees broke.
So much for the land of the free

Truth, my friend sold his business to start a new one; buyer got access leaving the products outside while the check didn't clear realizing it was a competitor that destroyed competition, leaving my friend bankrupted.

I saved a guy one time who sounded just like him. It started out by me seeing him with his dog sleeping outside the tim hortons that my lucky ass gets to go to every morning. After seing him there for a few weeks and snow and rain in the forecast I asked my wife if we could help him out for one week or two . Now obviously bringing a homeless man in your home is not the best idea, but I have a 25ft motorhome in the driveway I wasn't using. She said yes! So I went up to Timmy's, I asked him his story, how he got there , asked him if he had any income to get a place if I helped him, he said he had 600 a month for a place but couldn't find one. So i brought him to my place gave him a full new outfit of clothes, washed all his belongings started networking through all the people I know and within 24 hours we found him a room to rent for him and his dog. Within 7 days me and my wife had him off the streets living in a room , we also got him a bed dresser and few things to start off. I’m one to speak and to say that I’m homeless I been sleeping in parks for about 2 months and I just started going back to my previous job in ups and let me tell you when this man said there’s nothing I can do… it really bothered me because the fact is there is plenty of things you can do …. Just need to walk and look for opening to doors and god will lead you in the way…. I’m still homeless and I’m trying every day to save my money be watchful how I spend .. like yoda said just do try not . Or something like that. But anyways hope this guy finds his way and not give up !
I will be praying for him continuously. God bless him and all of the other homeless folks out there. They are just as human as we are and they should be treated that way

I feel him and understand exactly what he's going through. I've been homeless for 3 years living in a pickup truck that has been parked in my bosses parking lot. He let's me run a line from the shop so that I can have heat for the winter which is a little small heater and a fan in the summer to help keep me cool. I have a small TV for entertainment so I can watch movies and I removed the back bench seat and passenger seat so that I can lay some foam down and have a bed to sleep on. Most of the money I make goes to my son's mother either through friend of the court or additional money that she continues to ask for to help with our son and put gas in her van because now her stupid ass is homeless too when she had an apartment that she could live in that I was paying for but because she smelt weed every now and then being smoked in other people's Apartments she did not want to stay there anymore. And because of the way Apartments are making it a requirement to make three times the monthly rent at least in order to apply we are unable to get another apartment because she doesn't work she homeschools our son and I have to pay for everything which doesn't leave any money left to save. People want to judge other people when they're going through hard times thinking that it's their fault and have no idea the circumstances that put people in these positions. A large part of it now is because of how corrupt the real estate industry has become and how greedy they are. Investment companies are buying up property so that they can rent them out and drive up the cost of rent for everyone. The price of a two-bedroom apartment in the area that I'm at now 5 years ago was about $800 now it's 11 to 1300 because of these scum bags.

The rental requirements are so damn unreasonable. I feel your pain man - I've been through a lot trying to maintain housing. I hope you and your ex can come to an understanding of one another's struggles- because you are both being hit with external restraints, and both of you have it hard, just in different ways . Neither of you are "wrong. She should want a better environment for your children, right? That's what a good mother does. She thought she could get better for the kids, and she didn't realize the reality of the market right now. Don't tear away the natural instincts to appease an unnatural housing market. And obviously you should be able to feel good and secure about what you contribute to your children, right? If your doing the work and making the sacrifices, it should show for something. Is it really your ex squandering your efforts, or a system that's leeching from you both? Don't blame each other, it's a damn jungle out there for low income families. The pressure men have at providing, the pressure women have at protecting.... It's breaking the best of us. Don't let them rob you of more than they already have. Sometimes we direct our frustrations at those closest to us because the ones doing the damage remain behind the scenes - they aren't accessible for us to take the fight to. But remember your ex and your kids, they are in the same fight as you. Remember what it is your actually fighting for, and keep going. I wish you all the best, I really do. @@amyrenee1361 thank you for your kind words 🙏 I work with my sons mother the best I can which is getting harder because I'm 56 and not in the greatest health.. I recently finally got on medical coverage because I had to quit my job in order to get hernia surgery done that I don't with for over a year. Until I could not take the pain anymore and couldn't even go to the bathroom. So I had to quit my job in order to qualify for medical coverage because the amount that I was making was barely enough to pay for my friend of Court payments and pay for my storage unit that has everything I own. So now finally I'm getting some medical problems that I have taken care of but I'm not getting any younger. I'm literally old enough to be my son's grandfather 10 years old so it's kind of hard to do the things that I would love to do with my son because I'm not physically able to do all the rough house and that he likes to do. Sometimes I shut down because the burden seems too heavy sometimes but I have to carry on cuz I don't want my son following the same path that I did. It's a little difficult at times though because my son's mother seems to think that I don't do anything to help out and she has her own way of doing things which is undermining me whenever I try to teach my son stuff. But I just got to keep going I can't stop but as soon as my son is old enough to be on his own I'll be gone like the wind
sounds like that kid would be better of in foster care then living on the streets and being "homeschooled".
Here in miami another homeless guy did an awesome tree house as well , some people out there have awesome skills and smarts
Nah man, you deserve more than that. Def you need help tho to be able to see a that way, especially dealing with betrayals and everything. I hope he gets the help he needed

Most people that are homeless are like this. Things just fell apart and they cant get back into the game.
No they are not. You can not generalize. It’s a case by case situation. All the soup kitchens and homeless shelters I’ve volunteered at are actually the opposite.
Whether he's telling the truth or not he deserves help, but man people are gullible. No wonder so many people end up in abusive relationships.
Don’t be quick to judge people it’s easy to fall on hard times,just hope he bounces back and gets his life back on track 🙏🏻
