- ** So remember Mike's drill that was on the move, well the next day they left their half way point and all was going well until they ran into fog that moved in way too fast.
Obviously you can't be on the road in the fog, and they were doing their best to get off the road until they hit bump nocking out the conveyor - which needs hydraulics to put back in place.
So Mike sets out on a rescue mission with his Fendt 1050 that luckily he had in Swift Current which wasn't too far away from the incident.

Been thinking a lot about jay lately. The caption where it says see you on The flip side, takes on a whole new meaning. Iâll never forget this day
So true..
@@mikemitchell2554 I was driving jays Pete this winter pulling drills until I had to go seeding. Trained a new guy. His name is dylan. heâs been doing great! Iâll put my reputation on the line if you ever need another guy to pull anything in the future.
Fair play for being so calm and good. But best of all understanding that things happen, no one was hurt apart from pride and the wallet. Not all farmers are like you as I know too well. Well done to all involved in moving the absolute colossal beast of a thing !!!
It was kind of nice to see the old 1050 again. I know it doesn't suit your needs on the farm, but it is a cool tractor.
Two things to take from that. One nobody was killed and two itâs only cosmetic damage itâs not going to hurt your pocket anymore than a hundred dollars to repair. Both only minor details in the grand scheme of things.
Very polite of you to show these kinds of situations, the liability is over the top. Hope you fellow farmers take note, and save themselves such grief. Have a great Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas. đ from Origun, USA The Beaver State
Great attitude Mike. Could have been so much worse and no point in freaking out. You and the family stay healthy and safe from Ponoka Alberta Canada đšđŠ
The best to you and your beautiful wife . Take good care of her. Have a great day.
the 1050: "You came back! I knew I was too good to be sold!"
(returns 1050 to dealership for it to continue its cosign after roading the drill)
the 1050: "I officially hate you again"
Youâre lucky for several reasons: experienced driver to transport the seeder, it happened in Swift Current and your Fendt wasnât sold yet.
Good Morning Mike!
I have seen my share of farm equipment accidents, but this is a first of this type!
Looking at the damage from our angle, it looks mostly cosmetic. That could be straitened and welded, ground down and painted;
or you could put a nice patch over the whole area.
We deal with fog all the time, and it's the pits!
The best wishes, and GOD BLESS OUR FARMERS! Without our farmers, this world would be a VERY hungry place!
Gary
Tank will spring a leak in the future just before a rain storm, far from the shop. Just like the straps repair it now and save time later. Mike's super smart so I think he already plans to repair it.
Ă
You restored my faith that these things dont only happen to me
Dude I love ur attitude towards life.
Haha thanks đ
Great attitude, Mike - just like how I would see it. As far as accidents go - this is peanuts, if even that. Swerving that auger in traffic could even result in injuring or killing someone, so I think your transporter must have been a good one to see it so soon. Dents like that happen in a split second. Top content, and thanks for sharing some mishaps, thatÂŽs how we all learn.
Good video! Ashton is a keeper; to get out and go get you then patiently wait for hubby to be who he is and film this!!
I got a little excited when I saw all those Gleaners lined up at the dealer.
Good thing everything is alright and safe no accident đ
Great video Mike good luck rescuing your drill
The 1050 looks go good back on the drill
Good morning Mike! Enjoyed the video, thanks!
Thanks to Travis as well, he did do a short cameo here on CZcams but the comment seems to have been deleted.
Still some got to see you, and thank you for being that helpful neighbor when stuff happens!
I'm thinking a case of barley pop and tank of gas is due him.
Exact same thing happened west of Rosetown two weeks ago. Same size cart.
Thanks for sharing
Glad you got out of that situation with only a few minor scratches. Like you said; it could have been much worse. Hi to mommy Ashton. I remember how my wife was feeling at Ashton's stage. Crazy appetite stuff, very funny and curious. I never did understand sour dill pickles and crunchy peanut butter. It was a great time in our life. I hope it is for both of you two also.
Hello Mike good đfendt 1050 đȘđđźđč
such a monster farm implement. So lucky, the driver prevented more damage
love your Fendt
Iâve had our MacDon up to 24mph in reverse. đ đ
That 1050 has been at the dealer since at least august, seen it when i drove through. Glad they let you utilize it to fix your predicament.. Enjoy the wind tomorrow, swift suppose to get 106km winds tomorrow, we aren't suppose to get that much.
"We need hydraulics to put it back in" - that's what she said !
Mike, I was giving some thought to the cattail burning in a previous video. If you had a way to press them down so that the material was more compact they would burn without your having to combine them. (Which I thought was hilarious btw.) The roller that you use on some planted crops would press them down nicely but I am afraid it would do the job too well and just press them into the soil. You could also try something like a piece of railroad rail or steel pipe if you have it and just drag it over the cattails.
As for the damage to your drill, like you said the glass is half full if not 9/10ths full. Only minor cosmetic damage and no one got hurt. I love watching your âadventuresâ, they make me long to be a young man again!
Jay has a u-joint going out, squeaking when he pulled away from the drill.
I suggest ... paint the dented area and then put a bandaid decal over the spot. I have some if you need one
I was in shock when you walked up to the Fendt. I have never seen another tractor that I like the design of so much!
I don't really like Green or Red too many little stupid designs, love Yellow on the construction side, but now I will never be satisfied with anything else! Lol
The air drill gave me a similar feeling of awe, that I would enjoy operating or maintaining it.
I am out in California, so not much chance of me finding anything that big lol, but I was driving in fog like that several days recently. Not fun.
Guess I will have to watch more of your videos to see what other cool equipment you have!
Great attitude, my sympathy to the driver, it could have been so much worse, so more character building đ€đ
I glad itâs not any worse damage
Looks like your signature Mike.
SW-Germany is waving a hand đŻđžđđââïž
Good people all round in the farming theater. Respecting the situation all round and all new good intentions were always the priority. Yes no one was hurt was the top priority!!
optimist: half-full
pessimist: half-empty
2022: "It's pee, isn't it?"
Hahaha đ
I was waiting for this video hahaha. Did you get it home yet? And for anyone that hasnât met mike, heâs the same guy as in the videos. A very stand up guyđđ»
Haha thanks! This video is still aways out from the CZcams release đ
@@mikemitchell2554 oh ok haha. Chris sent this to jay then jay sent it to me. Lol. Hope to run into you again bud. But in different circumstancesđ

Hope you are safe from the storm in your area tonight!
They really do love battle scars.... it's sexy! Lol
Bet Jay straps down all conveyers in the future. Hope the family is well.
Positive part, you know what ones is yours now easier with the dented side lol.
Mike I love how you change your profile pic like is a social media profile love it
Bellissimo video, bravo! Ciao.
đđđđđźđčđ
Congrats on the baby đ¶
Wow what a machines
I've not seen a tractor that big before
I've got know you're channel through olly the farmer in UK
So I've just watched this video and wow impressed
When equipment decides not to cooperate.
always strap anything that moves when no hydraulics are connected for this reason, even with hydraulics connected it should be strapped
the deep gouge could probably do with a small patch, last thing you want is it needing to be fixed during seeding
I love that disclaimer
I have a small BG 3225 tank and I strap my auger down for my long moves. Peace of mind! (Over rough roads)
03:30 haha dirty tractors, heck you should see those we have here, they run almost 24/7 a season, people switching crews, different people in and out, then the mechanic in and out, ohh suddenly we are drilling but then you have to go and do liquid manure, then back to drilling and even a new tractor after around 1 season they look like 10 year old.
I guarantee you do not wan't to take your shoes off in those.
But nice video, thanks for sharing.
tool-carrier skid steers can get up around 35glugs... likely the wrong fitting tho
Apparently in the day, the Egyptians or Greeks used to take the wheels off their chariots overnight so they did not develop flat spots Mike. You are in good company for sure!
lol, lol, lol I love the idea.
That fog is terrible Mike.đ„
Selling that beautiful 1050? Say it isn't so Mike.
You just need is some JB Weld, a little Bondo and paint. It will look brand new. We call that an Alabama overall and I'm not from Alabama. đ€Łđ€Ł
Life on the road.
I agree with Mike, the chicks dig it đ
A minor incident really. Nobody was hurt but some feelings and a little paint! Locally last week we had two teenagers meet a combine moving between fields without the header on a blind curve without an escort. The car collided under the feeder housing with two fatalities to the occupants of the car which also caught fire along with the combine. Bad deal all around. The operator of the combine walked away from the accident.
You got lucky that it did not break through the sidewalk.i have pulled drills in my trucking days I always had straps on .but I pulled I don't now how many and never had an issue but I wonder how many this driver pulled in his career?. I was an over the road Drive so that is why I strapped the augers or conveyors down.
Your driver did just what he should be doing checking on the load/drill ever so oven to prevent damage to the load or others.
Morning
Perhaps worth just throwing some weld into the big dent to make sure there's no cracks, grind it down, and give it a shot of paint to stop the rust? Fortunately that thing looks darn tough and shrugged it off for the most part!
Lukely there were no people harmt Mike.
And things can be fixed.đ
I have been wondering about 1050 for months, if it was sold. Absolute curiosity if selling in a poor crop economy vs poor inventory market for tractors. High market value vs no warranty.
Thats one thing u wouldn't get away with here in the USA
time to trade it in for a new one mike
Well, if you had the auger tied down for transport, like most would do, you wouldn't be scratching the paint Mike. Lesson learned I hope.
Wouldnt you be better of with a decent 4wd? Would be nice to hear pros and cons between the Fendt and a JD or Case.
You gotta respect MurphyÂŽs law. "Shit that can go wrong, will go wrong."
Loving your videos ,how many hectares do you farm
Alright, yes the fog didnât help things but looks like you have things well in hand. Thanks for sharing
Whatâs your thoughts on a 3310 Bourgault? Only needed for max 1000 acres a year. Has a 6550 cart. Barley, Wheat, and maybe alittle canola.
Now is the way to cover that area on the inside with Flex Seal to pick up a way to promote the product for them as a farm. Just think how many uses for it! Like to see you get alot of free product.
Only in Canada, driving on the highway with a tractor, in Europe it would get you arrested, haha.
imagine the driver diddnt rec the hanging belt... OOOOOF
Would you go for a Zuidberg modular steel front weight next time? Can add or take off blocks from the main front weight. (2850kg is the main block plus add ons)
Are you farming near Foam Lake at all? I hunted near Foam Lake and that area for several years.
A little JB Weld on the outside and inside and the tank would be good as new. We patched a wild rice picker pontoon about 10 years ago and it has never leaked where it is patched. Fog is a bitch when trying to move stuff.
Paint an eye on the squiggly one
Inside, roofer peel and stick 2 layers never leak
shit happens mike. nothing that cant be repaired. no one got hurt. the 1050 is back hey hey
The drill should have it's own hold down for the conveyor.
Yes. Take note manufacturer
Thank you Captain Hindsight.
oh no mike... what did u do this time...
At 3:00 are those your Ideal combines?
You are that could of been a lot worse.
Female drills dig battle scars! Who knew!
Funny it doesnât come with a safety for the conveyor. Even my old flexicoil had a safety latch
Well if you do just take it to like a body shop and they can get that dead out and ain't going to hurt nothing that beat Center try to cut it out and read-willed another piece and still have possible potential leaks in the Welds
The number 1 hyway Mike?đ
Big enough bump to knock the conveyor out of its holder but the buckets didnt even budge
You should have asked the cop if he could video you guys getting everything back in position. đheâs just sitting there watching anyway.
Don't even think of cutting that dent out, that will not be a good repair. Put a parallelogram shaped sheet on top of it and weld it if you think it is structurally damaged. Paint it to our liking, there are usually great graffiti artists at any random highschool ;)
Unreal Tractor. Not a farmer enjoy it tho. Whats with the double wheels? Is it for weight distribution not to damage the ground?
Could've been a lot worse!
