I’m a big GW fan too. Again, I probably don’t have half as many as I would like to have, but hopefully I’ll put that right overtime. I have a good relationship with The Eginton group, because as you say, it’s important to keep the knife industry alive and not just a preserved history. Hence my extensive collection of modern Sheffield knives. Keep up the good work!

Along with the other Sheffield knife makers, I agree with your point about buying new knives as that's the only way to keep the brands alive and craftsmen employed. Good luck with not collecting fixed blades, I wasn't going down that rabbit hole either. Now I've got about 30, how did that happen?
@Dandenongkelly Sorry for the late reply. 30 fixed blades. I'm taking that as a warning 😂. I've got a couple of Moras and was gifted a Sheffield fixed blade from someone in America. Well I've decided after a lifetime of Mora/Swiss army/Opinels I want something with a bit more gravitas, a pocket knife with taste and distinction. There's just loads of them, I want Sheffield steel on an English knife. (I'm working class not racist.) These videos are pretty helpful, I won't be collecting knives, I use them, but I want to own something worth leaving, I want to own and use a 'heirloom' class tool. Very beautiful collection there, thanks for the show and tell, superb!
@wayout6092 I love your lifetime selection!!! What 3 brilliant companies that I have myself. 3 companies that time proven and punching well above their price tag. Keep me posted if you get anything? And what you think? I'd start off with a cheaper one and see how you get on. Mate, those 3 brands could last anyone a lifetime. Brilliant selection. 👊

Good to hear from you again. I bought a nice john primble barlow from Congys knife sales recently. Some real nice knives there I-XLs are the dogs no doubt about it..Thanks for putting this out.
@@SteelCityKnives I am happy with it in every respect apart from a soft spring on the main blade but not so bad I would send it back.Yes Im good a new hip to go with my knee.since our last contact .When my times up I will be melted down and come back as a Bowie!
