The news report that the High Court today ruled in favor of Julian Assange is good news for all writers and journalists who often risk their lives writing about corruption. Hope the next phase includes putting the High Court support to have his medical care addressed.
Remembering the role of the Washington Post and Katherine Graham backing Woodward and Bernstein as the young reporters working the city desk for assignments in the 1970's on a robbery in the Democratic headquarters that became the Watergate story, the US should drop this case and show Freedom of the Press is respected.
A very real concern is the effect of technology on the human brain. When surveillance technology of the prison system can show Julian Assange sleeping in prison it tells a lot about what he must be subjected to the effects the power or rational thought. Scientists and Doctors have written about many facets of this for decades. Hope the officials act to free him.
