- Hello everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my channel!!!! In today's video we're going to be learning about the Syngonium with a special emphasis on the Syngonium mojito.
I'll tell you all about how I care for my 1.5 year old plant. I'll tell you what I paid for my plant as well as what they go for these days. We'll look at the lighting needs, watering needs, humidity needs, soil needs, fertilizing needs and pest control for this plant. Plus I'm going to show you how I propagate my plant.
I hope you enjoy learning about how I care for the Syngonium mojito.
Thanks so much for watching
Nora was so cute silhouetted in the window. Probably bird and squirrel watching. Love the plant care video series. You're a great teacher.
Hi Deborah 🥰. Thank you!!!! 💚💚💚
May I reserve the two leaf cutting to purchase, if you don't plan to keep it??
My Chiapense is so beautiful, no new leaves yet! But the 3 Kings now has 12 leaves!! WOW! All of a sudden all my syngoniums are putting on new growth. A couple of them have 6 or 7 leaves unfurling at the same time! I thought growth spurts were in the spring!?!?😂 Give Nora "hugs" for me!!👍🐾😘🐾
You sure can!!! It’s yours 😊. 3 Kings is so awesome. Another one that looks like it should be way more expensive than it is. I’ll give her a big hug from you 💕💕💕.
Love the plant spotlight!
Hi Tina 🥰. Thank you 💕💕💕. Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday. I checked in on all of the babies this morning, in the grow tent, they look so cute 🥰🥰🥰.
Thank you for this information 💗
You are so welcome!
Your syngoniums are beautiful 😍
I have just 5 or 6 kinds. I love them 😍
They are so easy to love!!!! Thank you 🥰.
I know it was a propagating video too. But my heart was in my throat. When you chopped that poor plant, it was gorgeous. I know I know it will grow back. Nora is such a pretty cat. And there she is, Maria. Oh she is so pretty and her pot is phenomenal. My Maria, that sounds like a song, doesn't it? It's not quite so large as yours. But it is catching Up and I do like the clumping habit.😊😊😊
Hi Lynn!!!! It will most certainly grow back 😊😊😊. My maria isn’t a super fast grower but she’s a wild one lol. One of my faves. Thank you 🥰🥰🥰. Nora says thank you too 😻.
It is really gorgeous 💚🧚♂️
Thank you 💚💚💚
The sound your kitty made was so cute!
Thanks 💕. I wish she didn’t mind being with me on camera lol.
That is such a pretty patterned syngonium.
Thanks Chris!!!! 💚💚💚
SYNG💚NIUM M💚JITO!!!
💚💚💚
Your mojito is gorgeous. It's the next one on my wish list!! Keeps those props growing!😂👏
Hi Cherie!!! Thanks!!!! They are growing away 🥰.
Yay, looking forward to your care ideas because your syngoniums look so well and they can be tricky for me! But I'm a bit new to keeping them....awesome Gena!
Oh I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here. If there's something I didn't cover or if you need more clarification. I'm always happy to talk Syngonium :). Thanks!!!!
Hi Gena! You grow such beautiful syngoniums and your mojito is so pretty! Syngonium albo was my first “rare” plant, so even though I only have two varieties, they are very special to me. I propagate them in water but will try soil next time. A lot of my cuttings had a hard time going from water to soil so I started a leca pot and I add cuttings to it. I have my original soil plant in a self-watering pot.
@@cherylsignor9646 hi Cheryl!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I’ve had really good luck just propagating right into soil. I just make sure to keep it in high humidity and never let it dry out. Works like a charm. I’ve never tried leca. My only experience with leca was a plant I bought on Etsy came in leca and when I eventually tried to move it to soil it almost died on me. So I had to start over in sphagnum moss and then I was able to transfer it to soil. I’m very intimidated by leca lol. Thanks again 💚💚💚.
Hi Gena. Thanks for a great video on my favourite houseplants. Under the topic of Pests I noticed you didn’t mention mealy bugs and I say this because I had a bad infestation on the Confetti I have in the living room. It took some doing to finally get rid of them with pesticide and then strong force of water but I still see some white sticky flecks from time to time.I presume these flecks are eggs but I’m not sure so they need removing just the same. I’m looking at buying another couple of Syngoniums and would prefer clumping types. Any suggestions welcome.
Hi Renate!!! Ahhhh mealybugs!!!! I didn’t think mealybugs were as common as the others but they are definitely a risk factor for a lot of plants. I’m glad you mentioned them 😊. My only pests experience so far on Syngonium has been spidermites and scale and I hope I didn’t just jinx myself lol.
I don’t have too many syngonium that I consider clumping. But I enjoy my Syngonium maria, Syngonium milk confetti and regular confetti. And also just my plain white butterfly. The Syngonium pink splash allusion is also beautiful and one I would consider a clumper. Also Syngonium pixie is great too. A more expensive one that has not appeared to be a trailing type but more of a clumping type would be the Syngonium strawberry ice. This one is a very slow grower in my experience. Hope these give you a few ideas. Thanks 🥰.
@@ThePinkTrellis Thanks for replying Gena, I can now narrow down what I’m looking for when I search the nurseries online who sell Syngoniums.
Loved your syngonium video. Are you willing to sell the any of your propagations?
Thank you!!! Definitely 😊. Eventually they will make their way into my shop. Thepinktrellis.com
Do you remember my big mojito leaf that was just green? I pruned them and am waiting for my mother plants to return to variegation, praying they return to normal 💚😊
Oh keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!! When I had just the stump left I put it in my East Southeast facing window and it got lots of sun in the morning. Maybe try that as well 💚💚💚🤞🤞🤞.
I got syngonium mojito couple months ago. It was rooted cutting with one leaf. It didn't do anything until now . I got beautiful second leaf. Still small plant but it's beautiful.
I have syngonium which no one is taking about, I think it's 3 leaf syngonium. That's what I was told. Do you have any knowledge about that one or do you own one ?
Sounds like maybe the Syngonium tri-leaf wonder. I do have one of those. It gets beautiful large leaves. It’s a definite favorite of mine 💚💚💚.
I re-potted my very full and lush mojito at the beginning of the month and it has been dropping leaves rapidly 😩 I don’t know what to do. It’s watered and it has a grow light but it won’t stop yellowing!
Oh no!!! I would definitely take a cutting or two or three just in case you lose the plant. I’d also go ahead and look at the root system.
Definitely take some cuttings and try to root them. I hope it works out for you!!!!
If I want to cross propagating different ones how would I do that. I think pink and white with green not sure of the names but they are all Syngonium plants anyone got any advice?
I’m no expert on that sort of thing but I think they have to flower to do that. I’m not sure if Syngonium get flowers???? Maybe they do. Hopefully someone who knows will have some suggestions 😊.
Do you supply overseas. Leicester
I don’t sorry!
Will you have this syngonium mojito in shop? I need this plant. Lol
Hi! Yes I’ll be listing one on Friday this week 😊.
@@ThePinkTrellis ok. Cool!
i bought one cutting of eBay, can i plant this in Leca ?
Hi! I have never tried propagating in Leca. It wouldn't be my first choice for any plant, mostly because I have no experience with it. I have had a lot of success with Syngonium propagated in water, sphagnum moss, or directly into soil if then placed in a warm humid place.
@@ThePinkTrellis hello, thanks for your reply ! I have a lots of Plants BUT this years i really had a Gnat infestation !! Every Plant was affected . i used everything i could find against those flies. Mosquito bits helped and placing Leca on top of the soil. But i will try every new Plant from now on in Leca.
@@frankw9836 They can be tough to get rid of. In addition, I recommend those yellow sticky traps. It catches the adults which the pesticides don't get. I've had a time with them this year too so I totally understand.
@@ThePinkTrellis ever pot has one of those ugly yellow traps !!!! N
Shouldn't u be using Rum instead of Vodka for the Mojito? 🤭
haha I suppose so :).
