  • Back in 2016, the UCF Knights football team went an entire regular season without winning a single game. Fast forward to 2019 and they have just completed a stretch over the last 2 seasons where they went 25-1, with their only loss coming to LSU in 2019. They completely revamped and turned around the program and put the University of Central Florida on the map, but how exactly did this fast turnaround happen? In today's video, we will be talking about the Rise of UCF Football.

      Scott's Week In Sports nothing is confirmed but yeah a broken ankle isn’t a season ending injury. Heupel keeps quiet on his team’s health just to keep UCF’s opponents preparing and guessing. But mack will be back by week 4 at the latest I believe. I also think Dillon Gabriel will earn a start from wimbush before mack gets back

    I, being a Husker especially liked the detail you gave telling Frosty's philosophy for hiring coaches. He's truly a wonder as a coach, & I'm glad that UCF got to benefit from him. I'll always rout for UCF, unless they play NE of course. Which is incredibly weird, Husker never ever routed for FL teams before. Huge rivalry with the other 3 schools what with us getting Tommy Frasier away from FL. I'd watch UCF pulverize any of those other 3 FL teams any day.

    • @David-hx4gw
      @David-hx4gw Před 5 lety +2

      Even though Frost is gone, the culture he built at UCF is alive and strong. I can’t believe how quickly he built such a strong family unit especially considering he started with a totally broken team.
      As special as Frost is to us (well some of us choose to dislike him cause he left, but I understand why he did), he must be even more special to Husker nation. I’ll always be a fan of Frost so I guess that means I’ll be a Husker fan for quite some time lol. Hope he turns you guys around like he did for us!

      Scott Frost was not only a great coach, he was the definition of class. Usually, when a coach is hired at the end of the season, he moves on, and never looks back. Coach Frost worked 24 hours a day to recruit for NE, AND he coached the UCF Knights to their biggest victory in the Peach Bowl. UCF will ALWAYS love Scott Frost.

  • @FLJuJitsu
    @FLJuJitsu Před 5 lety +10

    George O'Leary needed to go. He wasn't was really deep thinker on the field and tended to play more old school 'smash mouth' type football which won't work in the modern era. Scott Frost, who played for the legendary Huskers in the 1990s when the Huskers were the team to beat, showed that UCF had a solid program that was just being mismanaged by someone who didn't know how to work with talent in the 21st-Centruy. Frost is proof you can have all the talent and facilities in the world but if you don't know how to use them then it won't matter. Great video.

      Matt Dukes that’s not a valid argument. They played in the game, and it’s the peach bowl which is one of the biggest games of the year. If they stepped on the field, they wanted it and they were beat. That argument has been pushed by the media to nullify the importance and significance of Ucf’s big win. Ucf clearly was the better team.

      I do not agree with this stance because when he committed to UCF Mack was already the starting QB and milton was already hurt. He literally committed to compete for the job and did not expect Mack to be injured. Plus Wimbush is a senior so it will only be one year with him and at best 1 more year of Milton so if Gabriel is redshirted he still will have 2 years to start (if he wins the job).

    Everybody wants to compare the UCFs schedule to the SEC. I get it! The SEC is great, the best conference in college football! No argument there. A better argument is the AAC vs the ACC. Take Clemson out and the ACC is garbage (as of the last couple of years). Who did Clemson play for the conference title in 2018 and 2019??? Another argument is the AAC vs the PAC12 who also has been pretty bad the past few years. Undefeated ACC and PAC12 teams would automatically earn a playoff spot. Why not the AAC. Just saying.

    • @lsutigernation9024
      @lsutigernation9024 Před 4 lety

      Oregon vs Auburn. Oregon almost won. UNC, Syracuse, Miami, and FSU have all been great recently in the past couple of years for the ACC. Stanford, Oregon, USC, Utah, and PAC 12 have also been really good in recent years as well. Put UCF in any other power 5 conference and they wouldn’t have the same record. They may still do good, but would point out that they aren’t national champion worthy or close to it

      @@lsutigernation9024 You said it! Oregon vs Auburn. Oregon almost won. UCF vs. Auburn. UCF did win. UCF also beat Stanford last year by a wide margin. Then look at Memphis and Cincinnati. They have been better than Syracuse, Miami and FSU the past couple of years. Houston, Temple and Navy have been playing strong football lately and SMU is on the rise. If you stop buying into all of the media bias and look for yourself, you'll be surprised that the AAC is actually a pretty strong conference. Not SEC strong, but it can go toe to toe with the ACC and PAC 12.

    • @ono3869
      @ono3869 Před 4 lety

      @@lsutigernation9024 Probably not the ACC because Clemson is top notch but UCF is good enough to probably finish with a 1 loss season assuming UCF is placed in the Coastal with Miami, they don't play Clemson in conference play and lose in the ACC championship. A 1-loss ACC team will still be in play for a playoff spot.
      However, UCF can have a run against Pac 12 opponents. Oregon is currently the only real roadblock in that conference and they are not unbeatable.

    UCF is NOT on the rise. Beating schools like Connecticut and South Carolina State, then declaring yourselves national champs does not make you a powerhouse. They have not been in the playoffs because of their schedule. The only real team they played during that "run" was LSU, giving up 40 points to a team that Alabama shut out.
