- In this video, I show you guys how I replaced my Turn Signal/Parking Light housing and install LED bulbs in them on my 2000 OBS Chevrolet K2500 Crew Cab. I really like how cleaner and newer the new housings and LEDs make the front end look. Next up would be some upgraded headlight bulbs and the 4HI MOD! This video could possibly be used as a GUIDE/DIY/HOW TO to help you replace the Turn Signal/Parking Light housings and installing LEDs in them for trucks/SUVs of the same model and years.

Thabks this video helped me get the bulb sizes other sites were saying different things
Your welcome. I'm glad my videos could be of help to others out there 👍
Do you know what size the screws are?
Sorry, unfortunately I don't.
@@cjscarcollection18 Ah, thanks for the response though!
So what was the yellow grease inside I had that stuff when I was tryina swap to LED lights and it was getting in the way of the bulb I had to hold the bulb down in order to make it function and did not know if it needed some more grease or what
Looks like dieletric grease in which they put way to much of it. It's not really necessary to have it.
@@cjscarcollection18 okay thanks man!!
how do you keep your headlight off? my daytime running lights are my low beams
I bought the truck with the drls already off. Should be pretty simple to shut them off depending on year by either removing fuse or relays or another way. I believe youtube should have on video on it.
The big black box next to flasher relay, makes all the noise just unplug that and throw it away lol.
Haha yea definitely annoying
@@cjscarcollection18 Threw mine away years ago, it doesn't do anything but make noise.
I've got a 94 K1500 Blazer. My front passenger side parking light doesn't work, but when I flip the blinker on, it flashes/works as it should. Any suggestions?
I see. Do you have the correct bulb in there?
Is it a single or dual filament bulb? Or is it LED?
@@cjscarcollection18 , it's not an LED. I'm gonna assume it's the dual filament bulb. I've been reading that one part of the bulb will work with the blinker, but not the parking light. I went and purchased a new bulb. I'll post how it turns out.
thanks for adding a shopping list, but you ad a 4HI MOD Wiring Kit, is that necessary?
No probs 👍 Not necessary. I only added it because it's the kit that I bought and plan to install soon.
Quick question, I have a 97 c1500 chevy and I was wondering on why the corner light don't flash exactly timing as the housing. And does the corner light come in white when Flashing or does it have to be yellow flashing because I have install white leds all clear chrome headlights for the corners and kinda looks effy but I just wanna make sure it's not a wire that needs to be fix
Truthfully, I am not quite sure why the corner lights and turn housing lights don't flash at the same time.
I've actually seen both ways of flashing on an obs. Maybe it might be due to the year range of obs.
Technically any blinking lights that indicates turning in the front should be amber in color. I had white cause I didn't have amber LEDs on hand at that time.
@@cjscarcollection18 another question bro I installed the housing bulbs that you mentioned in your description but the thing is now it is flashing faster than the stock normal bulbs. Do you know why this is happening?
@@alejandroramirez3070 yes, did you update your flasher relay too?
How do I flip those guide pins over to turn the amber color to white mine are just on the amber color sorry new to this
All good. Willing to help as best as I could.
Hmmm which guide pins? You got a pic you can send me on IG?
IG: @r_gasmic
No resistors were needed ?? I just bought them and I have and LED flasher and my turn signal just stays on after install even though I did not move my lever to have them on.. only the amber turned on for me not the white 😞
Yea I didn't need any resistors at all. Was just a simple bulb and flasher relay swap.
You have a photo of everything you did and bought?
Just got some switchbacks but they are only amber unless I disconnect my corner signal mark the switch back work properly idk if it’s cause I have the non led corner lights
Yea those corner bulbs not being led could affect why it's doing that. You have the led flasher relay install too right?
@@cjscarcollection18 nah I have hyper flash but I don’t mind it but I might have to get that relay
@@styxg8254 yea if you get the relay then that should get rid of the hyper flash. But the corner bulbs should be swap out for leds too to see if it fixes the switchbacks issue.
Let me know when you do and if it fixes it 👍
Did you ever find a solution to this, I did end up putting led in my side markers and the switchbacks would still only be amber, so currently running no side markers since that’s the only way the switchbacks will work properly
i have the same problem with my '96. one side is amber and the other is white. when i turn on my park lights, the amber side (on the right) makes my right signal stay on. i tried switching both bulbs and if i flip they're in the proper way. before one of the bulbs were white and one of them was amber, but now they both are. is there any tips or advice you might have? I'm really trying to see what it is before i purchase new bulbs.
Hmmmm you have LED bulbs in there right?
@@cjscarcollection18 Yes I do! the flasher as well, but the corner lights next to the park lights are not put in
@@kayl7835 ahhhh ok yea you should get those LED bulbs into the corner lights first and go from there. It could affect it as well.
Noob here nice video where did you conect the 4hi mod wire kit
Thanks! I actually havn't gotten to install the 4hi mod kit yet. Will do soon and make a video of it 👍
Rn the problem I’m having with mine is, when I have my 194 side markers plugged in my switch backs are amber, but when I take my 194 out and have no bulb in there place my switch backs are perfectly fine white when just running and amber when signal is activated,
I see. Are your 194 bulbs also LEDs?
@@cjscarcollection18 yes,
@@loudman2872 and you have an LED flasher relay installed as well?
@@cjscarcollection18 yep, got a ep28 led flasher from autozone
@loudman28 hmmm and what year is your truck?
mine only flash from being at amber, do you know what could be the issue?. i want it to stay at led and flash to amber like yours
Hmmmmm did you get the right bulbs? Switchbacks?
@@cjscarcollection18 yes they switch but when i turn off my signals they stay amber instead of led
@@UnboundzzzHD hmmm sounds like you bought just a regular amber led bulb and not the switchbacks. You have s link to the bulbs you bought? Or did you get the ones I got?
Would these fit my 98 silverado?
Yes they should 👍
What led bulbs did you use for the sides
They were actually 194 LED bulbs I had laying around
@@cjscarcollection18 ok thanks
How come my led flasher I got doesnt really fit my 96 the old flasher relay fit super tight and snug then this one i bought from your link is all loose as heck
I'm not quite sure. Mine fit pretty snug tight into the slot. Might be a defective one from the seller. You got an image or video?
Well it was my mistake there little hole underneath the plugs and thats what I was doing so its all good now
@@dylonscott742 alright cool, I'm glad you got it sorted out 👍
@@cjscarcollection18 I see there is different types of relays with that link which one is it sir ?
@@Octavio_Baeza the link actually leads to the exact flasher but the flasher to get is EP29 👍
will this work on a 1990 gmc sierra 2500?
If it takes the same type of bulbs, then it should work. Check your bulb to confirm.
Thanks
@DragonZordGarage71150 no probs. Let me know how it goes 👍
The link for the corner lights it's not onther
The led bulb for the corner amber lights? For those I had spares laying around so I don't have a link for those but I think I recalled them beeing size 194 👍
What the name of the website you found them at
The housings I got from Rockauto and the bulbs and relay I got from Amazon which you can find the link for them in the video description 👍
Where did you get the housings??
Got them from RockAuto 👍
@@cjscarcollection18 happen to have a link?? Been looking for a good stock looking set
@@2wdDenali this was the set I got 👍 the TYC set

Man, I watched that whole video just to get a profile of the truck and it never happened. Bummer.
Hmmmmm profile?
Hey so i will need to buy the new relay to make them flash?
The relay actually helps with hyperflash. 👍 it'll still flash without the relay but just flash really fast like when a bulb goes out.
Are you ready to sell this truck?
Haha I have had so many people ask.
I have a 99 model crew, carry-overbody style,
just like yours. Only 100k miles in it in 2022!
A guy begged me to sell it to him.
I told him "Sorry, I'm going to be buried in this truck! “
Of course, now that I'm having chronic door handle, door lock mechanism and instrument cluster problems.. It's not so much fun. But I'll get all that fixed when I have time. I could never pay the $70 grand to replace it, plus new trucks are even more plastic than mine. '94 was the last good year when they still used metal for dour handles.
Just sold my deceased mom's '94 ext cab (with 108k mis on it) and never had any of these problems on the 5 yr older truck.
Enjoy the classics!!
