I am so glad you got her wings & is flying high. Melinda was very smart in her move to divorce Bill..so glad she moved on
👏👏👏 she's amazing! I read her book, very inspiring. So glad she's investing in some of the biggest and most important global problems that affect women around the world.
I read her book and loved it. I love listening to her.
Where are her views on human trafficking? That’s what I thought.
Love this woman and so grateful for what she is doing for the world ❤. We need you so much 🙏
Really good interview! Thank you.
When we fall deeply in love 😍 with someone special, it always feels magical 💖 so magical that you don't wanna think or believe that magical love will ever end and when it does, it feels catastrophic, a train wreck. People especially women need to think in terms of independence, of just being satisfied with being on your own. I'm sure it was a very difficult time for Melinda to accept that her long term marriage was over but it gives me joy and happiness that she's moving on by finding purpose to help other women and girls. As a woman who chose to never marry or have kids, this gives me hope that I and other women can find purpose and not just resort to a life as a wife and mother. Good luck Melinda you're doing GREAT! 😇
We're happy that she's happy!!
What a fantastic conversation between two women I so dearly admire ! ❤ Special shout out to my favourite Gayle King ! Love from India! ❤
Melinda, you look lighter in terms of our hair and countenance. You look happier, too. I’m glad to hear your voice!
She's a phenomenal woman! Thank you for all you're doing!
"Behind every great man...is a woman." It is great to see Melinda step out of Bill's shadow, though.
Wow. I loved this. It was the right moment, to hear her speak. I will definitely be seeking her out.
Two of my favorite people. Beautiful inside and out. Great interview! Thank you! Metta to all everywhere.
She's brilliant!
Didn’t know her maiden name is French. That is my mom’s maiden name and my maternal family.
I adore Melinda French-Gates - she's an extraordinary role model - intelligent, passionate, thoughtful, kind, and hard-working. Reminds me of MacKenzie Scott. We need a woman President!
She’s extraordinary.
I don't know why anyone would want to keep working with their ex. Good on her for creating her own foundation.
Philanthropy without strings attached. YES. She is a rock star. I look forward to a great biopic starring Laura Dern as Melinda Gates.
Melinda you're simply great. You are highly appreciated. Keep it up 🎉🎉🎉🎉💃💃💃
Love Melinda French! Amazing women on all levels
Great interview
I like her.
Respect.
The part about investing in young men 👏🏽
So important and impressive outlook!!
Melinda, you look great! Please say "hello" to Judy for me.
The happiness really shows 🎉❤🎉
Wishing you both all the very best
Money also came from Warren Buffett a Berkshire Hathaway
Wow, fantastic ❤
She is amazing!!!
Thank you for using the description of feeling vital instead of feeling young(er). Finally a description of a mature woman full of energy without dragging the comparison to being young as an ideal.
There is NO way that her family took the jab🧐.
She us an amazing woman. Such grace.❤
Good for her.
Melinda is strong, smart and a change agent in society. She challenges all of us to step up and do something for another human every day. She is a role model for ALL people.
If Bill Gates was in the hot seat, I guarantee that Gayle would not have commented so often “and You look good.” “And You feel good?”
Isn’t it time this changed? Exhausting.
I have so much respect for Melinda!❤
Oh, her kids are adorable-looking! That's nice.
Love her.
No-strings-attached philanthropy? Imagine that.
Melinda, good for you. I'm relieved. 😊
❤ very best wishes
Gayle always interrupts! 😮
I wonder who she learned it from...
I admire her for being supportive to
Other women ❤
What an incredibly brilliant, kind, generous human being
If you are married to a narcissist, you gradually lose your voice and self-worth over time.
Yeah, I also feel sorry for Bill...
"The worst billionaires are the Good Billionaires. The sort who make it seem like the problem is the distortion of the system when, in fact, the problem is the system."
Anand Giridharadas
Money should be give to the opposition, so they can oppose the majority rule...
Just have maybe spent more time on USA.
She made 12b for her "philanthropic" work🙄🙄
And you forgot working at Microsoft and putting up with a narcissistic husband/co worker. Probably took care of the house too in terms of hiring whomever for whatever task.
She’s so brave. Using the money from the guy she divorced. So brave. I’d say it’s a god complex, a philanthropist? Yeah right.
The problem with contraception is that it was about family planning but it became a get away with use in one night stands and teenage pregnancies and hence more mortality and what not!
“Hooray! Our future is brighter. Social norms up for change. YES.”
Two very smart, strong and impressive women. Great examples for the next generation of young women.
Holy smoke you drank the kool aid, I bet you are on your 6th shot.
@@thinkmirror8507 I don’t think so, bc I’m not a hater like you and we all know that’s what the koolaide does to people and it also makes them misogynistic.
what irks me is how a billionaire, many times over, when talking to these women in dire situations and the poorest of the poor, with the utmost awful future ahead, how on earth doesn't she have the urge to give them directly some money; 3-10 thousand dollars -which would be a handbag for her, could change a family's future forever! And I know you can't help the whole world, but she could directly help hundreds and hundreds and it would only be a teeny tiny dent in her finances. Like how can you look theae women in the eyes, sitting on dirt, pretending you can empathize with all that head nodding, and then go back to thousand dollar sheeted bed, luxurious jet, mega mansion, and so forth.
So...if women ruled the world...😅this wouldn't be such an uncommon thing to be so compassionate and generous. Just a thought .
A rich person trying to say “I know better, listen to me.”
No Thanks!
That's exactly what she's NOT doing. What she's doing in philanthropy is letting thosre in the know lead the way and it's phenomenal.
@@anandaadidevi2339 Correction: letting those who fornicated with someone in the known lead the way.
Milestone birthday? What's that?
I don't want you or anyone like you to have any influence on my grandsons and granddaughters. Do good for yourself not others.
Why do you not want her as an influence?
And, I would argue one can do good for themself as well as others. Especially if one has every means to accomplish both.
Seriously? If you wouldn’t want someone like Melinda French Gates having influence on your grandchildren, then you have some screws loose. Melinda French Gates leads with honesty, integrity and lifting others up. If only others with wealth and power had her same mindset.
Did you miss the part about "philanthropy without strings attached"? She is giving to orgs that are lifting up women, girls, and men and boys. She has no influence on how that's done. If you had an charity organization (though I'm not sure you're the person for the job) wouldn't you be glad to have the money to accomplish your goals? What do you mean by "do good for yourself," anyway? Be selfish?
women cut women at work .
Plus she lost her identity in the presence of a dominating husband!
I cannot Stand Gayle King.
same!
That’s nice, made Bill look bad, took his money, and now looks like an angel. If she wanted to help, she could do it at bill and Melinda foundation
Could you give a billion to women with long covid research?
Its funny how Seattle looks like a slum and yet Bill and Melinda have lived there for a long time.
Maybe because she wasn’t allowed to allocate some of the money to the areas that need fixing? She was married to a control freak. I hear she’s a part of a project now with Makenzie Scott and some others to create a walking and bike pathway on the east side of Seattle? So that’s a start.
What part of Seattle? I live right in the city and it looks fabulous from up here!
They don’t live in Seattle. Medina is quite different 😂
Book THE SUN ALWAYS PIERCES THROUGH helped me find my voice & self worth ❤
Some food for thought as a gay male.. take 30 seconds to imagine this for a minute.
I am a 30 year old and I marry the founder and CEO of the most successful company in the history of the world. I go into a meeting with a world leader and my husband. Who do you think people are going to focus on? I'd be willing to bet every dollar that I've ever made on them focusing on my hypothetical husband, the founder of the most successful company in the history of the world.
Melinda, do you think when Kamala Harris goes into a room with her husband Doug that anyone even acknowledges him? Is he going to get any sympathy from a news anchor as a man? No...
Please stop making gender an issue. You're perpetuating sexism and creating a double standard for men. It needs to stop.
Surprise surprise someone who doesn’t get it
She’s doing good work but not as groundbreaking as McKenzie Scott. Melinda has $11 billion and McKenzie $34 billion. Together they can make a real impact for women, GETTING DEMOCRAT WOMEN INTO OFFICE!
Don’t fund any bio weapons.
She's got some fun bags on her!
Their necks betray them. Science needs to do something about that.
Melissa French Gates for the next Female President
Of the United States with Michelle OBAMA
Please let's make this happen in the future. Women got the stage and know how to do this in the future. WOMEN ARE STEPPING UP IN POLITICS
Health Care, Culinary, Research, Overseas initiatives, women's Reproductive Rights, LGBTQ issues. Melinda French Gates git the juice to make things happen. We all believe in her Efforts and Talents.(Believe me she got the the juice) and it is going to happen. Just takes a little time. Just you wait and see. Love ❤️ Love ❤️ 😊
Unfortunately, I don’t think that Michelle would be interested, but yes, it would be great. Maybe Melinda will.
Melinda Gates is the man
This is so manicured and edited. Literally sick to my stomach.
She’s a joke. A real journalist would have asked the last time she voted for a Republican…which is never.
And you would know this, how? 😂
I'm glad she is free of Bill Gates. She deserves better than him.
What a joke!!!!!!!!!!
That’s a man..
is anyone could be helpful here--why she divorced with bill gates, but there is still a “gates” in her name?
Does it really matter? Is it so important why others outside the immediate family need to know? Okay, most women at least in western culture may keep the married last name. For such reasons as it’s a hassle to change, if there is kids from the marriage it’s easier to have the same last name as them, if a woman has been married for many decades and feels like they earned the name and is still close with her exes family she may keep it etc. those are some big reasons why a woman way keep her married name if she chooses to…but again, does it really matter to know why?
@@JK-ck4er just a little bit surprise when i saw her name。anyway, thanks for being helpful
She leaves after contributing to destruction.
What’s wrong with her face?
Melinda really looks like any one of us now! I thought people with money are all thin and attractive!
Well, I'm not sure we could disavow her attractiveness completely. Any level of attraction would be beholden to one's subjective taste, ultimately. As for body mass index, she seems well within the healthy range. And, though she is wealthy and often photographed, she isn't an actor or performer so she isn't afflicted with the pressure to be "thin."
Yeah, exactly just like any one of us!
@@rebeccashelton3552 I guess. Sure.
I think she was always the “girl next door” plus I don’t think Melinda French Gates wears a lot of Makeup, by choice. If she did, she would look a lot better.
@@JK-ck4erI think she looks fine just the way she is, without too much makeup.
The most attractive billionaire I’ve ever seen.
Many weak men in this comment section very threatened by Melinda 💪🏼🤩
Enough of the pretentious hyphenated names, your divorced dropped the Gates
Guess you don't like apostrophes either, it's "you're divorced", not your.....
The beauty of 2024 the new name we take is up to the individual. When I divorced I took back my family name as my middle name and kept my husband's name because I had two children with that same name. Later on when my two sons were grown and launched and I remarried, I kept my family name as my middle name and took my new husband's last name. In fact we both took each others name and we both are hyphenated.
Triggered much?
Somebody doesn’t want their ex wife to keep his surname
@@augustvirgo1975 why should they (she) keep it, they’re divorced. Pick a name woman
Wow…. Unbelievable how many people are still ignorant of her…..
