  • In this video, we try something a little different from vending since we are all staying home! Today, we will demonstrate how to apply Arcade Stencil Artwork ton a Pac-man Arcade Game! Applying arcade stencil difficulty can vary from game to game, but Pac-man however, is quite challenging!
    I hope everyone is staying at home and staying safe!!! Enjoy this video today!
    We even brought in another CZcams content creator who focuses on Vending and Painting videos for expertise! Make sure you check out Tym O'Laughlin's channel here for more about his vending and painting journey:

    Agreed with others, this video was needed and is the best I have ever seen on this subject. I'm not sure I can handle the level of work. Do you think the Vinyl decals are and OK second choice? The pacman has been in the garage waiting to be finished for two years. Wife wants it in the basement arcade!

      Personally yes. I think vinyl looks good too. Doing the body work on another pacman now and will be doing the vinyl wrap. Make sure you are subscribed so you see when that video posts

    Great job and well put together video....really shows you what's in store and what to expect. Do you know how they did this back in the day? Was it the same process? I'd imagine the time it took might be a problem for the makers of the day. Thanks

    • @GalaxyGames843
      @GalaxyGames843  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Back in the day they had big metal stencils and would spray a bunch down a row... thats why no 2 are exactly the same

    Wow! Awesome work! Your cabinet looks amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share your process. How did you paint the black bezel area? Did you use the same black spray paint as you did for the stencils? Thanks again for putting this great how-to video together.

    • @GalaxyGames843
      @GalaxyGames843  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for the feedback! Around the bezel area I used Rust-Oleum satin black and used a roller to apply and a foam brush in the corners

    Hey, first of all great job on the pac-man!
    I’m so thankful that you did this video!
    I have one question: how did you paint the yellow ? Also with cans?
    Thank you very much and keep up the great work.
    Best wishes from Germany 🙏

    • @GalaxyGames843

      I actually used a foam roller to paint the yellow!

  • @chadvroman7805
    @chadvroman7805 Před 3 lety

    I did mine by hand, I scanned the original paint, had Sherwin Williams mix, then used the paint to go over the original, I used Q tips for the dots, I even kept the 1980 midway mfg co. all rights reserved. on all 3 sides. I then clear coated it. Looking at this video, mine was probably the same time, if not longer, but I would do it again considering how it looks.

    Use water to float your graphic, and squeegee it out

    • @GalaxyGames843
      @GalaxyGames843  Před 2 lety +1

      I personally would not recommend this on a 40+ year old arcade cabinet. Some of them are made of particle board too which will suck up water like a sponge and damage the cabinet

    • @redherring5532
      @redherring5532 Před 2 lety +1

      @@GalaxyGames843 understandable.
      The method I've recently had great success with (new builds with some particle board components) adding a thin layer of shellac or poly and using a 2:1 water/alcohol solution I've had great success floating my graphics.
      Im fascinated by the stencil method you used here. And on another video or maybe this one you gave me great insight with how you installed the pacman graphics and cut the edge in strips using the t molding slot to make the final cut around. 👍

    I've been thinking about applying some of my favorite side art to the walls in my game room. Torn between vinyl or stencils. This does look REALLY labor intensive compared to a vinyl application. If you were doing this on drywall, which method would you choose? I'll probably go with Pac-Man, Defender, Joust, Moon Patrol, Gyruss if I'm doing stencils. I'd probably use the same color palette for all so they match!

    • @GalaxyGames843
      @GalaxyGames843  Před 2 lety +1

      Personally for wall art i'd go vinyl - stencils are very labor intensive and if I was going to do it again, it would only be on an arcade cabinet
