I even think the first round flatters Rakic. Jiri was ducking what mattered - he's not full of it, he is seriously working on how to get that perfect combination of being in their face, taking those risks he wants to take because that is how you finish someone, which is his goal, not wait for a chance, not just survive - knew the leg kicks needed time to be a problem, so let the kicking come on, Aleksander, turns out, infected elbow, on antibiotics... he admitted being worn out by the start of the 2nd. Jiri wore him out in the first, and was just working it looking for the opening. Obviously anyone can be tagged at anytime, but unless you tag them... Jiri looked smarter, less reckless, but the magic of still being aggressive. I hope he continues with how to look after himself more in the pocket as he seeks that finish. A raised left hand between his face and Pereira's right at the end there wouldn't have hurt. Using head movement alone... he served himself up to the left hook.
But Rakic did do good, he's got skills, he's been blooded back into his division... hopefully he progresses.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, although I had Yiri..Rakic is the better technical fighter beyond any doubt, Yiri is just tough as nails..Rakic won the 1st round by a mile, for the record..It was a come from behind win for Yiri..
@realeyesrealizereallies6828 - Everyone is NOT entitled to be so arrogant towards fighters though, that's what I'm highlighting here. To say Jiri had "no chance" or that Rakic would steamroll him was disrespectful. Big difference in saying that then picking a fight wrong.
Jiri is one of my top 3 favourite fighters so love seeing this. I was getting a lot of hate from Rakic fans & neutrals for picking Jiri

I never bet on MMA, too unpredictable. You know, Matt Serra vs GSP kind of unpredictable.
Great content and a growing channel. I know you aim to be interactive and end up with lots of silly, uninformed, and angry comments from a variety of people on a variety of topics. Your usually immediate and challenge these types of inappropriate comments. It's a noble stance as long as it doesn't end up consuming too much time away from MMA content itself. A lot of CZcams MMA programs consist of fans fighting hosts & hosts fighting fans and apparently a lot of people find this entertaining. Your channel is above most because you focus on the fundamentals: 1) You have consistent fighter and event updates, 2) Lots of interesting facts and statistics, 3) Amazing fight prediction segments, and one of my favorites 4) Superb fighter interviews.
@shawndoe2834 - Thanks man, I try not to focus too much on the negative stuff but every now and then people need to get called out. The MMA fanbase in 2024 is way worse than it was before the pandemic. The people who are offended by this video are the same people I don't want anywhere near my channel

But it wasn't meant to be against Jiri (i am from czech rep and live 25 miles from Jiri's cabin in woods:))). it is simply better description for Jiri fight style. I think someone from analyst or commentators said it finaly too. That Jiri went berserker. I picked Jiri. i predicted that Rakic isn't that smart and also has no balls big enough to lure Jiri in some kind of KO trap, like Pereira did. Lets go Jiri!!
James, you yourself know that Rakić fought Yiri after an injury and 2 years of not fighting. Yiri is almost the best fighter in the UFC, and Rakić got him out in the first round. The fight was excellent, and it would have been even better if Rakić had fought before Yiri

Sofa experts..i stoped discussing about sport with random people on internet. They all love to talk about things they have no clue about
To be fair, Rakic was better in the first round. He was able to get a lot of actions through, but Jiri is simply a berserker and was able to eat it all up. Then he became more active at the end of the first round and carried this into the second round and Rakic couldn't handle the pressure. A well-deserved win for Jiri!
Jiri is the second best LHW in the division
If you look at Rakics career pre-ufc, its embarrassing the type of competition he's face compared to Jiri, its quite obvious his finishes are "padded" if he fought more high level competition, he'd have much more decisions and wouldn't be viewed as this "killer"

I thought Rakic was going to win and I am NOT a Rakic fan. I am a Jiri fan but I watch MMA objectively so if I think a fighter has a skillset to beat a fighter that I like, I will say that.
