  • Ride review of the 2020 Beta 300rr demo bike on my local trails. It performed well on the more technical trails and I really like the power delivery and transmission on the bike. I still need to dial in the forks but otherwise I'm pretty comfortable on the bike already. Thanks to Beta Canada for providing both the 300rr and 200rr bikes for me to test. More on this bike and the 200rr coming soon.

    New subscriber.... Other than the super wet conditions your trails look very similar to what we ride here in the Appalachian Mountains. Lots of rocks and roots. I’m sure your trails are a bit more technical in higher elevations. Great ride - Looking forward to hear your review on both the 300 and 200. My 16YO son needs a new bike and I was considering the 200 RR for him. Thanks for your videos.

    Nice video and good riding. Thoughts on racing this bike in GNC type stuff? I was also thinking about the 300 RE, I do have the 2017 version RE. I've heard this year's KYB is very stiff and I also like to do riding like what you're doing here, but i want to race some GNCC's this year. Are these forks too soft?

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Před 4 lety

      These forks are not too soft and seem to be pretty tune-able. You might want to take the bad review on the KYB's with a grain of salt. Taking a zero hour bike made for racing into gnarly hard enduro type terrain on the very first ride may not be the best idea, amusing that's where you heard about the forks.

    • @TK-cl1jm
      @TK-cl1jm Před 3 lety

      I'm considering these also. I'm now leaning toward the 300 for lugging ability, versus having to be a busy shifter on the 200. So I hear, that is.

    • @CallmeMasta
      @CallmeMasta Před 3 lety

      @@TK-cl1jm I had the Xtrainer for 3 years, it luggaged better than any bike (so said ktm owners). I did take the 300 for a test ride and loved it. It's easy to ride, the best choice for single tracks, in my opinion. From the research I made on the internet: the 200 has less grunt but more fun factor.

    • @PNWEnduro

      @@PNWEnduro Beta has an accessory that eliminates the hex bolt. There's a knob that lets you use your fingers. I ordered mine yesterday. It seems no aftermarket shops make much for Betas. But I did find that Sierra Motorcycle Supply has all the Beta accessories on their page. They have a lot more than footpegs and trinkets. IMS gas tanks, Ohlins suspension, Baja Designs LED headlight kits and quite a few serious upgrades are available.

    Kyle from dirtbike channel is reviewing the RE and he trashed on it quite big, saying that it doesn’t feel counterbalanced at all, and it feels heavy. About the heavy feeling maybe its because the RE its not made for technical stuff but about the vibrations I dont know who to trust. Im literally watching everything online about the 2020 250 and 300 RR cuz im thinking about getting one. I would really appreciate if you be honest on these reviews and not say good stuff just because its a loaner bike. Btw I frckn love these trails man, they look epic.

    • @gregmullinax5117
      @gregmullinax5117 Před 4 lety +1

      I have a 2016 Beta 300RR that I bought new. It vibrates just like all other non counterbalance 2-strokes. I recently demo'd the 2020 Betas 300RE and 250RR (and the 4 strokes). It was a really nasty muddy day and the test loop was a groomed dirt loop with almost no rocks. I can say without a doubt that the vibrations are drastically reduced between 2020 250/300 and my 2016 300. On the loop we rode the KYB outperformed the Sachs but it was not hard terrain at all. I typically ride rough terrain and hard enduro with mine. I'm a big guy to at 275lbs dry so nothing feels stiff when stock.
      So back to the vibrations. A few weeks later I rode my friends 2020 Husky TE 250i TPI. This was the smoothest bike I've ridden. Absolutely no vibrations. I thought the counterbalancer was great on the Beta until I rode the Husky. It really is on another lever as far as how smooth it was. Kyle bashing the Beta for being rough is just wrong. It's still a really good and smooth bike just not as smooth as the Husky. It felt like a toy and sometimes you could barely tell it was even running. The suspension was really good too. I was able to ride it over some really rough rocks and it performed really well stock.
      I'm a big fan of Beta but I'll have to do some soul searching when it comes time for my next bike.

    • @LP-kb1yo
      @LP-kb1yo Před 4 lety +2

      Greg Mullinax thats why im concerned man, i have a 2017 250 exc with a lectron carb, no vibrations at all and the suspension was done by kumlin in sweden. It feels like a toy man you’re right, easy to ride and very light. To be honest maybe this obsession of mine with the new 2020 RE its maybe just because of the looks haha, it looks fckn amazing. Maybe i should just stick to my ktm for a while and see whats coming this year. Thanks for the info man, Ride Safe.

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Před 4 lety +2

      @L P I always try to be honest with anything I review be it borrowed, bought or given to me. I'll be doing a comparison on the vibrations coming up. What Greg Mullinax said above is pretty spot on.
      Keep in mind Kyle rode that bike once so far starting a zero hours. It's said that the engine gets a little smoother as it breaks in. I believe the shocks may break in a bit as well.

    • @Gmullinax
      @Gmullinax Před 4 lety

      The Beta race edition is the best looking bike out for sure but the new 2020 TPI bikes run so good. Way better than I expected.
      Given that you have a really nice bike already I'd probably wait unless you have some expendable income. Then in that case, go for it. I can't see how anyone wouldn't be happy riding a new Beta.

    • @keffjames2747
      @keffjames2747 Před 4 lety +1

      I just rode a new 2020 300 RE my self and I weigh 160 lbs and yes the suspension felt just a little stiff but it was not set up for me and it will take a few hours for it to get broken in. I ride and race Hard Enduro and I like real soft suspension. But with any bike brand you will have to set it up or change the valving to make it perfect for the type of terrain you like to ride and change the strings to your weight. no bike will come from the factory perfect for anyone. About the vibration it does have a little but it's not very much at all. I think it is so little that you will not even recognize it. It might not be as smooth as other Brands but I don't think it's anything to worry about.
