It's crazy how they mimic the eastern rythme and patterns thru different instruments

Drum language is universal. It's known all around the world through different music genres. This is a excellent example in this video. I wonder how they met up it looks like they might be in an airport or subway train station. Being a djembe drummer myself, (06-03-1984 to present), I love this right here two brothas speaking in that sweet universal language of drumming

This was in Paris, in the Subway. I was waiting for a late train. These two were intoxicating. Didn't speak each other's language, but communicated perfectly through their music. I listened to them for almost half an hour. I posted a second clip as well.
      Thank you for your comment!

@@marshwetland3808 so glad that you enjoyed the video. I filmed it in Paris years ago. Bought their CD. But somehow lost it on the train... wish I had it. Cost 5 euros...

@@akmellerman I guess it was just an indie pressing by these two guys, eh? Someone should release it to a bigger audience. I wonder where these guys are now.

@@marshwetland3808 The two drummers clearly played together, even though the spoke different languages and only communicated through music. My guess is that they have moved on. They could have gone professional, but would have needed an agent.

I think they both are equally good. The only difference which makes Arabic darbuka faster is the movement of hand. When you play Darbuka your wrist + palm do the job. Whereas in playing your Africa Djmbe hand below the elbow works and moving a big thing takes alot more time.
