Vid.Palghat Ramprasad is one of leading Carnatic vocalists hailing from a great musical lineage. His grandfather being the legendary Vid. Palghat Mani Iyer and grandmother being Legend Vid.D.K.Pattammal. Palghat Ramprasad is endowed with a robust voice and he models his concert on the path paved way by past masters. He is accompanied by gifted violinist Vid.Vittal Rangan and the percussion side has been enriched by Vid.Patri Satish Kumar

ஆஹாஹா!! பிரமாதம்!! இரவு 11.00 மணிக்கு யூ-ட்யூபில் கண்ணில் தென்பட்ட உடன் கேட்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். பேய் மாதிரி கண் விழித்து முழுவதும் கேட்டு முடித்துவிட்டு தான் தூங்கப்போனேன்.
நல்ல சங்கீதத்தை கேட்டு அனுபவிக்கமட்டுமே தெரிந்த எனக்கு ஏற்பட்ட ஆனந்தமே இத்தனை என்றால் சங்கீதஞானம் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் மகிழ்ச்சி அளவிடமுடியாததாக இருக்கும். மேடையில் இருக்கும் பெயர்பெற்ற வித்துவான்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் வெளிப்படையாக பாராட்டி மகிழ்வதே இந்த கச்சேரியின் தரத்துக்கு சான்று. நன்றி!!

Reminiscent of the immortal Alathur Bros concert with sankeerna nadai pallavi at the Academy with LGJ and his grandfather on the mridangam.. Brilliant! Never loses the bhava aspect in the RTP while juggling layam complexity...

So he is reborn as the Grandson and singing for us thro Palghat Ramprasad. Very steady, and wonderful rendering, with a beautiful body language too. It is very hilarious, even after one week, the organisers have not changed the wrong relationship they attributed to the artist. They are supposed to know and propagate the correct information.

But Palghat Raghu is related to Palghat Mani Iyer thru marriage (like a son-in-law, niece’s husband) besides Mani Iyer being Raghu’s teacher. In that sense, they are all sort of related.

Raagam, Aalapanai, Niraval and Swaram are all fine. It will shine more and will be best if there is improvement in voice culture. The depthness in voice is not much. If he improves his voice ability he will shine more.
He is 43-44 years old. Can the ‘voice culture’ happen now?
At least to me, his voice is fine. It has its own sweetness to it.
