I’ve been doing exactly this by buying things associated with my hobbies. It’s pretty easy to find premium brands at a huge discount because people just want a quick sell.
It’s perfect someone like me who works 12 hour shifts no need to leave the house and can post items on the way to and from work.
That's great sounds like you have it all sorted for a nice easy little side hustle. Also being able to buy and sell items you know about and enjoy is great 😀 Thanks for watching
Sadly many start out with good intentions thinking it's a breeze - only to fall by the wayside because they have neither the time nor the commitment to really make it worthwhile. Plus running a business ( even a small one sitting on your sofa ) requires organisation re stock, cash, records, Tax, and so on.................which is a talent lacking in many.
Sadly your correct, especially with reselling. Its not a get rich quick scheme! Takes a lot of work, time and energy to make it work. But the more you put in the more you get out, that's the rewarding bit. Yes there's a lot to learn even just running the business like you say with paperwork and managing your cash flow. This is on top of dealing with personal finances as well as anything else going on in your life. Thanks a lot for watching appreciate the support ❤️
@@georgestreasureshed Yeah - I have been doing it for 20 years - just kinds fell into it as a side hustle back in the day ( Ebay ) now have a £125K pa business. BUT it is a 24/7 lifestyle, and the feast or famine rollercoaster can be trying at times.
Thank you for the video George, very informative, Pete.👍
Cheers Pete 🙂

What is the model of the thermal label printer and digital weighing scales you use?
Hi I got both a few years ago and they've never let me down. They are not branded as such, just generic models off ebay. The scales are great think they are called digital postage scales and we're about £30. There's loads of different printers available, there's no need to spend hundreds. This one was about £70 from what I can remember. Hope this helps 🙂
Thank you for your reply
Thank you for the video, I am new to the channel and found this very informative. If I want to get into reselling but by selling my own private stuff first, is it worth setting up as a business on eBay or just sell on my own private account, I have a number items listed but am barely getting any views on my private account😢😢. I do want to get into buying and selling as well, but not sure how to do it for the best and legally and above board of course……..please help 😬😁 xx
Hi thanks for watching and welcome to my channel! That's a great way to start by selling your own items. You are fine to do this on a private account no problem. There's many factors that could be hindering your sales including quality of photos, title, price etc. Please see my other video for top tips on selling on ebay. Hope your sales pick up, try to have as much activity on your account as possible. So try to list new items every day. Thanks again
@@georgestreasureshed Awwwwwwwwww thank you for the advice. When would I need to start a business account then and do I need to register things with HMRC right away or only after I’ve earned a certain amount on the business account? xx
@mandi2002 sell your own stuff on a personal account then as soon as you are buying to resell, get a business account. Register straight away it makes it a lot easier later on. Remember to keep your expenses and tax info. You will only pay tax on your profits. Hope this helps
@@georgestreasureshed You are a diamond, thank you so much 😊 xx
