    11:03 The pulsed siren output usually indicates that the zone was programmed as a fire or carbon monoxide zone. Make sure the zone definition is set to an instant alarm zone.
    The zone might also be fixed as a fire zone, meaning that the zone cannot be changed to a burglary zone. It tends to be more common on older systems.

      I’m gonna be taking time to double check the programming in the near future. Might try factory defaulting the thing and programming it again.

    Awesome demonstration! DSC is definitely not my most favorite security system out there, but I do really enjoy these smaller older DSC panels. Thanks for the video!

    First you collected many singing sea creature props, now alarms? Okay. I like and I love it when that person has a collection of both singing sea creatures and alarms… so…

    you should set it up so that you can arm it while your sleeping so it will trigger only if someone opens the window or door
    its also good to have some sort of banging sensor aswell as glass break by the way you should set up the window to be able to be opened slightly when you need fresh air

      I plan to eventually switch out this system with a much more robust one. This DSC system only has four zones, so I’d like to have a system that allows me to have more sensors. Plus I’d like to be able to hook my fire alarm system into it so that if the fire alarm activates, the fire zone on the security system will also activate. And yes, I’d like to add a glass break sensor at some point. Maybe I’ll even add another siren, probably in the basement right underneath where my room is. As for what system is choose, I’ll probably go with a Honeywell Vista 15p or a 20p. Though I do have a very rare Silent Knight 2615 system that hasn’t been used in a while, so that could possibly go up instead.

    Awesome video! I have this exact security system built into my house with this exact panel that’s in this video. The system used to not work. But I got it working the other day and tested it. For the siren I wired an ESL smoke alarm into it for the siren. The fire alarm feature on mine is programmed to do the pulse coding but I didn’t realize you could program it to code 3 until I watched this video. I want to make mine a code 3 so do you know how to do that?

    There is an installer programming option to disable end of line resistor supervision. Installer page 013, toggle on option one and make sure option two is off. (Zone 1 light on, Zone 2 light off) I’ve set up a system like this before, so it works and not having the resistor is nice. The siren always needs one however

      @siphonralarms9411  Před 7 měsíci

      The only keypads I’ve seen that have a built in siren are ones that are all in one wireless. Hardwired systems don’t typically have a siren built in to the keypads, but I do know that some UK systems have speaker outputs built in to the keypads.

    You don’t have to arm the system to clear the alarm history just pre the #Key

      I don’t have an MPI-11 or the proper speaker for that, though I do plan on getting them in the future. I don’t think this small system could handle the power draw of the MPI-11 though.

      @@officialnotonlyjames I actually don’t have a house system, wish I did though. I bought this whole system old stock off EBay. I have several other systems in my collection as well. And yes, these things can be collectors items. Especially when it’s older equipment like this and is no longer manufactured.
