- In today’s bike video, I’ll take you with us on a weekend cycling trip in Japan’s Gifu and Nagano Prefectures! On Friday we started in Takayama (高山市)and visited the Showa-kan Muesum. Saturday’s ride went around Lake Suwa (諏訪湖 ) and visited Takashima Castle (高島城). On Sunday, Zeb raced the Mt. Ontake (御嶽山) hill climb while I explored the turquoise rivers and woods surrounding Otaki Village.

Great video as always! I was riding around there a few years ago, but it was in the middle of a typhoon, so I didn't really enjoy much of the scenery. The Showa museum looks great... I came to Japan at the end of the Showa period! Congratulations to Zeb. He should try the Mt. Fuji hill climb. I did it three or four years ago very slowly in the rain. :)

how do you find rindo routes? just look for seemigly out of the way roads?
yes sometimes its just exploring haha - but usually I use Strava's route finder and "heat map" function so you can see if roads were ridden and how often. Lightly ridden roads are best because they're usually pretty and out of the way, but sill used enough to be in good condition/not taken over by nature and the elements yet.
