    The lug to lug has definitely improved. I’m not a Batman guy, but if I were to get one, it would definitely be this GMT. I don’t care it’s not a traveler GMT. But my favorite so far is clearly the blue with the orange second hand. That colorway is pure Tag.

    Don’t forget the shape of dots : in the old version they’re round but now the’re octogonal like the bezel , they reflect the light more classy .

    I handled and compared both the old 43mm vs new 42mm at the Boutique today. The new one has a smaller clasp, more refined case and smaller crown guards and crown. Overall it’s much more refined and improved. Much more wearable and I’m strongly considering getting one. It’s a much better watch then the old one. Only thing I don’t know is the weight of it??

    I think this is a fantastic new version of the Aquaracer. It is now truly competitive and can hold its own against the Sub and the Seamaster.

    I wanted the blue and white dialed 43mm GMT so bad. I was disheartened when they discontinued it. Luckily, my wife bought it for me while on vacation in Jamaica.

    Crown has been re-worked a bit in the serrations, pulled in closer to the case, and the crown guards have been reduced in length. Probably a little easier to get a good/more comfortable purchase to wind and set now, perhaps?

      Thanks for adding those points! Great spotting. Its a shame that we didnt have either of these watches to hand at the time of filming. Hopefully in the near future we will get a pair in and get a first hand look of them to compare and perhaps do an updated video. What you say would make sense though, theoretically youd think that the new crown would have more purchase on it with the new adjustments. Cant wait to find out :D

    Thank you for the video. But your video is a little mis informed. It is not a Selitta movement.
    The TH31-00 in the new aquaracer is an AMT sa movement designed by Tag Heuer and produced by Manufacture AMT SA a company owned by Selitta and LVMH. LVMH owns Tag Heuer.
    Tudor and Brietling share movements made by Kenessi SA. The movements are designed by Tudor and Brietling and Norquain for their needs. Does Tudor make them. No. Do they design them. Yes. Are they considered in house. Yes.
    Omega has all their movements made by ETA. All of them. ETA has a Omega division. They just make Omega movements. Are they produced by Omega. No. Designed by them. Yes. Are they in house. Yes. ETA is owned by the swatch group. So is Omega.
    Rolex has Aegler Manufacturer SA make all their movements. Rolex designs the movements and Aegler makes them. Are they made by Rolex. No. Does Rolex design them. Yes. Is it considered in house. Yes.
    Tag Heuer has AMT Manufacture SA make their movements. AMT is owned by Selitta and LVMH who also owns Tag Heuer. LVMH has a controlling stake in the company. Basically they funded most of it and Selitta runs it. Tag Heuer designs the movements and AMT SA makes them.
    Are they made by Tag Heuer. No. Are they designed by Tag Heuer. Yes. Is it considered in house?
    I own a Aqua-Terra, Explorer, Over seas, Planet Ocean etc. I know good watches. I own a Carrera Chrono also. The fit and finish of my Carrera is not inferior to my other watches. Maybe my overseas. But my omaga and Rolex cannot compare to that either.
    I stopped in tonight to look at a few Tags while I was waiting for the wife. Tried on a Carrera Chrono Glass box. Wow. I was blown away. Fit and finish a level above my own Chrono. On par with most of my other watches.
    Tried on the watch in the video. Again. Blown away. Fit and finish has come along way. The design and fit and finish punches far above it's weight. Well worth $3800. I paid $3300 by buying the Glass box too.
    In my opinion..so much so I bought one. I would never have bought one in the past.
    The bezel is silky smooth with audable clicks and the crown is as smooth as any watch I own.
    The Carrera Day and Day Date are getting the new in house calibres in November.
    I cannot think of a better diver at this price point.

      Glad you had a fun time having a look at the new Tags. I agree with what you’re saying, a lot of the newer models are very good. Especially this one. I stopped in the AD myself the other day to check this one out in person and I must say I was very impressed. The ladies range is superb too.

      @@TheWatchVillage From Tag Heuer.
      "New TAG Heuer Calibre TH31-00
      The new TH31-00 movement was codeveloped by TAG Heuer and Manufacture AMT, Sellita’s customization department for high-end movements in La Chaux-de-Fonds. AMT produces and assembles this high-performance movement exclusively for TAG Heuer. Equipping the Aquaracer Professional 200 with time and date functions, the TH31-00 offers a number of benefits. It is very accurate and chronometer-certified, which demands an accuracy of +6/-4 seconds daily. It delivers an 80-hour power reserve, the longest ever to feature in a TAG Heuer Aquaracer with mechanical movement.
      New movement
      The beautifully finished 30-jewel movement has Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, and its rotor design shows the TAG Heuer shield. TAG Heuer applies a five-year warranty to any watch that it powers. Calibre TH31-00 is the latest in a series of movements developed under TAG Heuer’s Movements Director, Carole Forestier. It joins TAG Heuer’s Calibre TH30-00, which was introduced last year in the Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver."

    More spot the differences! -
    The hour hand’s tip not only had a growth spurt but looks pointier and thinner on the new.
    It looks like Tag did not shorten or reshape the seconds hand so it now appears to venture into the minute track. That also means the polygonal lollipop on the seconds hand now passes over the octagonal indices whereas on the old it just reaches the indices.
    The new minute track is not just missing the extra markers for a cleaner look but now has triangles instead of squares at the hour markers.

    I welcome any watch video but for those considering buying a Tag DONT! Save a little more and buy a Black Bay

    • @TheWatchVillage
      @TheWatchVillage  Před měsícem +2

      This is a great point made. The Tag Date retails at £2950. With the Black Bay at £3450. For that few extra hundred I would agree definitely that the quality of the Tudor is superior. However, I guess it does also come down to preference on what someone likes design wise/complication wise. With this Tag it does have the date feature, really good bracelet adjustment and a cool design. It’s really more of a sporty looking piece than the Black Bay too. The Black Bay is for sure the more timeless looking piece, dampening down on the sportiness more so, and providing higher quality in the movement and materials.
      I’d love to be able to do an in-person comparison of the 2 side by side. I will put it on the list :) appreciate you watching the video and leaving that feedback.

    • @solarcycles1963
      @solarcycles1963 Před měsícem +3

      It depends on whether you want vintage or modern vibes. The Black Bay ( even though there’s far too many in the range ) has the *cough* in-house movement, the 54 is my favourite version of this model.
      The Aquaracer has a much more modern design with a perfectly capable Chronometer Sellita movement inside giving an 80 hour power reserve. It’s also the better finished watch in my opinion.

    • @TheWatchVillage
      @TheWatchVillage  Před měsícem +1

      @@solarcycles1963 I agree, it definitely comes down to preference on what you as the owner want from you watch. If you're leaning towards the sporty/more modern look then this is where the Tag does deliver. And as you rightly said, the BB delivers that more vintage vibe. I love both of them!

    • @UfukSahinDenmark
      @UfukSahinDenmark Před měsícem +2

      I sold my black bay to buy the 2021 Aquaracer in blue. I’m still in love with it! I think the design, look and finish are better than the BB. Only missing part was the movement with a better reserve and it just arrived.
      I’m sure that the Tag Heuer brand is going to be stronger and much more capable in the future generations.
