Gears 3 really was the peek of this franchise. Look at that enemy diversity and the adaptability in some ways from the ai. Horde mode in 5 just doesn't hit like 3 did
Same not sure how I feel about Gears of War 4.

@@jamesguy2265 gears 2 was the start of the peak, yes. but gears 3 was what has the most diversity, better multiplayer, a believable ending, etc.
Gears 4 and 5 have a much worse sandbox and variety than gears 2 and 3 😢
@@jamesguy2265 completely agreed. Nerding out here but - them sinking Jacinto which was what their last beacon of hope was and relying on the motto of ‘hope runs deep’, brought me to tears.
I love the fact that there like actual Multiplayer AI in there which makes this twice as better
Yeah but, beast mode has lowered AI in order to make a more balanced experience for the player. In campaing AI dont get close near berserks with a shotgun.
Dude, that onyx guard’s was dope, despite they we’re outnumbered, and destroyed for the berserker, they fought as hell, and managed to hold the line.
That's why I love the onex guard
The berserker scared the hell outta me as a kid. I remember reading the guidebook, yes the physical big ass guidebook, on how to beat him! Waaaay back in GoW1.

They do technically work, hence the blood effects coming off the Berserker, but the damage output is so small that they might as well not do anything
@@jetstreamsam99 true but like it having so little effect you're more likely to run out of ammunition before you even hurt one lol
Maybe theyre using it to distract the Berserker, letting the player line up their shot
@@fatalxdecaay2817 the one-shot is the only thing strong enough to penetrate a berserkers hard skin
And the berserker isn't even invincible like the Lambent Berserker is outside of the weak point. Yet the durability of the regular berserker is this high.
I once tested the regular berserker's durability using super reload. She took about 5 mags worth of super lancer ammo on insane which comes out to about 2,500 regular bullets needed to kill her.

The fact that this battle plays out so realistically (not perfectly, but mostly) with the lore and cutscenes is a testament to how well Epic Games crafted the characters in-game.
Man I hope they would do a Locust + COG vs Lambent, it's something I oddly wished to see in Gears of War 3, like a "enemy of my enemy is my friend"
I wanted Gears 4 to be that. For the Swarm to not be automatically hostile - maybe seeing some Outsiders actually VOLUNTEERING to become Swarm.
Rather than just the Locust with new paint.

They should of given the Berserker execution animations.
Would of been cool to see it curbstomping, ripping in half or otherwise pulverising its helpless victims in messy send-off's rather than a 'ok im done now' after downing somebody and wanders off to do it to somebody else lol
I know it's probably impossible but maybe somehow implement the matriarch's execution animations?
Is it possible to use regular COG soldiers rather than onyx guards? I do enjoy seeing the regular guys fight.

It seems like the berzerker was the only thing that actually turned the tide here. Honestly I would just equip squads with Rocket launchers or anti tank weapons. Because I don’t care how tough it’s hide is, a MAAWs would delete that thing. In fact the rocket launcher basically made the grenade less effective.
Nah you gotta use molotovs and flamethrowers then blow it up since it's skin becomes soft when it's on fire

You can’t kill berserker with conventional arms. You need a specific weapon to activate a condition to be able to hurt it
You gotta use incendiary weapons, hammer of dawn, or the one shot which are the only things capable of killing the berserker
Please make more GOW3 NPC battles man, it is my favourite saga.

This really can amaze you on how humanity lasted 15+ long years fighting the locust with all the different variants they possess. And on top of that to be jumped into another war 6 WEEKS after a century long one barely even a fraction of a time to rebuild.

They're Imperial Guardsmen with a competent Commissar. They still die, but they fight smart and actually kill stuff.
It seems in the gears universe, although technology advanced the basic tactical doctrines never advanced beyond the medieval era
they straight missed the chance of giving the berserker some gnarly executions, like picking up a cog and just ripping him in half, picking them by the and leg and smashing them to the ground(thor loki style) ect
fr, like even drudges have an animation where they dismember you alive with their tentacles and savage boomers can make their digger launchers literally eat you alive before blowing up
Poor COG bastards, the bezerker is 100% bulletproof without fire damage
The Lambent Berserker in the PC version of Gears 3 is completely invincible however.

Footage from the cleanest and highest survival rate of gears against locusts.
I just remember playing my first horde game on this map, the funnier part is that I just putted in a higher wave where I got chased by Grinders and the Corpser and that was fucking scary as hell
God I miss beast mode, I loved it. So sad it never got in 4 or 5.
I wished these Gears has either a Scorcher or incendiaries for the Berserker.

Yeah the berserker was a bit much. The cog had no means of damaging it so it just walked up and sponged all the damage. Still enjoyed the video. It brought back good memories.

If THIS was Gears tactics I’d be all in- Or if half way thru the battle you can spawn in, Depending on your class can change the objective. Secure an area, Retrieve a piece of intel or just fight the battle as a grunt

maybe more weapon variety, this was mostly lancer gnasher and that semi fire locust gun. and more npc variety, reavers brumak beast riders armored cantus, everything.

Gears 5 it's amazing but nothing beats 3 (only maybe 6)
The berserker single handedly gave the locusts the victory. Not enough concentrated firepower and heavy weapons damage on her. A few brave heroes sticking grenades on her back to bring her down.
Real players would have been able to asses the threat levels and prioritised targets accordingly.
