    Our Story:
We are four years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney
Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled
with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our
pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden
organically, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is
to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living
has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our
    journey!

This video starts a 8-part series of us tackling a 750' fence project over the Christmas and New Year's break. I took the auger off the tractor yesterday....and took apart the PTO shaft and stored it indoors (lesson learned)!!
Here's a link to our very first video where we talk about finding and purchasing this land. We've numbered each video in the title and the thumbnail. Stay tuned as we post weekly!! : czcams.com/video/GbPKOd0DZXQ/video.html

I am dealing with the same problem.
I bought a used auger and it laid on the ground for at least a few years with the shaft partially extended.
My pulling it apart attempts failed so far.
I don't have a big post to tie it to so I used the hitch of my van It started to pull the van or slipping the tractor tires but could not break the shaft loose.
We then tried to push the shaft back in by placing the shaft standing on a piece of 1/4" steel plate and using the front loader bucket to push down.
Lifted the front end of the tractor off the ground and it is still not letting go.
We left it in that position, with the hydraulic pressure released and weight of my bucket on the shaft. My bucket is a heady duty industrial one so it weights a lot. I sprayed the shaft with PB Blaster.
Hoping it will work it's magic.
Luckily, I have time and don't need it today.

Thanks Lucas. The fence took us 9 days over the holiday. I was on the farm yesterday for the first time since it got completed and drove it with the tractor--it's such an awesome upgrade to the property. Take care and stay warm....I was on my excavator yesterday in a T-shirt!

Crazy winter here in Indiana. January 20th and no measurable snow yet. Probably will get it all in March :(

The news is showing snow everywhere! It can be pretty as we used to live in the NorthEast, but after about a day, you want it to be gone, gone, gone. We're entering a stretch of unseasonably cold Jan/Feb....lows might dip into the 20s. That's too cold for Florida. Take care. Brad&Deb

@@PineyGroveHomestead The reason I don't live in Florida I can't handle the heat. My sister lives near Tampa and we like to visit but always happy to get back to the change of seasons
