E39 Kristiansand-Mandal. AF Gruppen. Earthmoving of blasted rock.

  • AF Gruppen is building for Nye Veier a new E39 as a four-lane highway with speed limit 110 km/h for the 19 kilometre long stretch of Kristiansand west to Mandal east. The project also includes new direct access from E39 to Mjåvann Industrial area. The development starts in the Fidjane area in Kristiansand and ends at Døle bridge in the east of Mandal municipality. The route runs through the municipalities of Kristiansand, Songdalen, Søgne and Mandal. Construction start was 9. October 2018. The stretch should be finished built during the fall of 2022. The total contract value is of NOK 4.7 billion ex. sales tax.

    In the video taken on 3 days from 30/06 to 02/07, blasted rocks are loaded by Cat 390+352, transported by a fleet of Cat 775G, 772G and Volvo ADTs (A45). Dozers are spreading materials in 2m layers (D9T, D8T) compacted by Hamm H25i.

    Wow all that rock, it could tons and tons of gravel and road base material. I like seeing blasted rock crushed and made into gravel or aggregate and road base material. Keep up the good work

      Was my profession before i got injuried. That company actually called me and offered me a job on this project when I was in rehabilition for my injuries...My luck..

    What is going on here? It looks like a large quarry. Is it being closed out or is this some other project? Any way, there’s a lot of rock being moved around. I worked in a quarry here in the USA for several years, crushing rock for concrete and asphalt as well as sub bed for roads. Great job but very dusty and noisy.

      I use to laugh the other crew in a Qld coal mine didn’t like picking the tail up with a Liebherr 996B , it didn’t bother me double benching , if you pick up the tail sooner your trucks would spent less time backing so far, speeding up production cheers

      Hi. Yes it is correct, it is a 4 lane highway project in the south of Norway. Around 14 miles of new road including a lot of tunnel and rock blasting as you see. Thank you for your comment Raymond.
