BOISE -- The lead anchor at Court TV has followed the Chad and Lori Daybell cases closely since they began over four years ago.
Now, as witnesses will soon take the stand in Chad Daybell's trial, Vinnie Politan will be watching closely for the defense and prosecutors present their cases.
"I understand the prosecutors' case but I want to hear specifics of what happened to Tammy Daybell," Politan tells EastIdahoNews.com. "How (her cause of death) was missed the first time, why the body had to be exhumed and the explanations for all of that."
Daybell, who married Lori Vallow two weeks after his wife Tammy Daybell died in October 2019, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder in relation to the deaths of Tammy and two of Lori’s kids - 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Prosecutors showed at Vallow Daybell's trial that her brother, Alex Cox, was closely involved in the deaths. He died in December 2019.
"I'll be watching the way the defense approaches Lori and Alex and what exactly the relationship is between those two. Is the argument going to be that they were inspired by Chad but not conspiring with him?" Politan explains. "Does he have these prophecies and they are things he says but Lori and Alex are the ones who take them, twist them, turn them and start committing murders?"
Vallow Daybell did not testify at her trial and Politan wonders if Daybell, who has written several books and spoke at conferences about the end of times, will take the stand.
"He is a man who is used to speaking to groups of people and convincing them to believe what he's saying. He had followers. Will he have 12 more inside that courtroom? I think that's the biggest question and I'm waiting to see if it will be answered," Politan says.

Thank goodness he didn’t have her cremated. In fact I’m amazed he didn’t. Shows how stupid he is. He was hoping she would have a car accident when he sent Tammy off to visit her parents. He knew she didn’t like to make long car trips alone and yet he did that hoping she would have a crash. Then Alex fails to shoot her so attempt 3 has to be successful.
Were his kids asleep in the house when he and Alex held her down and strangled her? Goodness gracious. At least one of them must have been. Maybe Chad slipped Tammy one of JJ’s pills to sedate her so she wouldn’t cry out and make a noise.
I think they must have drugged Tylee as well “cause she would have fought for her life.

Something along these lines to justify a grave when Tammy arrived home, this text matched the timeline of Tylee death I think , also to highlight that raccoons apparently do not come out during the daytime and there were never any raccoons found buried in Chad and Tammys back yard, think Tammy was alive for two weeks with poor Tylee and JJ buried there, before being murdered, then barely 2 weeks later chad snd Lori get married knowing Charles, Tammy, Tylee and Jj were murdered 😢💔💔💔

I hurried and got my gun, and he was still walking along. I got close enough that one shot did the trick. He is now in our pet cemetery. It’s just tragic four lovely humans lost their lives to these exalted beings. Seeing what Colby, Kay and Larry , Summer and Tammy’s lovely family have gone thru is just so heart breaking it really is. Kay sobbing loudly in the car was ghastly to see. How can Lori sit there smiling and flirting with her wierd hair pony tail and crazy round red circles on her cheeks saying Tammy is her dear friend.
When Colby said he wanted to hit Chad in the face with a shovel I thought that was a good idea and I’m not a violent person at all. However what Chad did to the kids and his loving supportive kind wife is beyond any comprehension.

I wonder if Lori gave up Chads defense in her closing statement. “accidental deaths happen. Suicide happens. Fatal side effects from medication happen.”
    Maybe she gave it away.

Vinny really should have people do a better job of promoting his show. He never told what providers have it, he never mentioned the app, he never mentioned how we can rewatch the show directly on the site (though the app does not allow that specifically), though the app does let you view it live, and he never had you tell what time it was on, etc.

@@BuddyBear-j2rIdk if they STILL believe Chad; they might not want to say that they changed their minds. Thinking your father may have murdered your mother is a very tough thing to embrace, but at some point it must become undeniable, especially since there were so many odd events involved. It's one thing for them to admit it to themselves, another for them to admit it to the world. Perhaps we'll hear more from them once Chad is convicted of Tammy's murder.

    Nate QUESTION/COMMENT:
Do you think that Lori's mother, who communicates with her, will give her the facts if infact Chad throws her under the bus and she'll want to testify in court? I can see her possibly having a fit find Miguel he turned against her if in fact that is their defense. Absolutely love love love love love love your channel! Starting watching you giving out Christmas gifts to the community. I also saw you go into Hawaii. Like Vinnie's analysis. We are biased by all we've seen in media and audio of Lori's trial. Glad to hear him saying Chad had right to start trial with a clean slate. I agree, Tammy's death going to be toughest to defend and conspiracy on the kids buried in your yard. Conspiracy still life tho, so I think if he doesn't get DP he's gonna get life for conspiracy. MHO of course but Prior will have done the major job - no DP.

🙋‍♂️ Question: I know Chad is paying for his lawyer out of his own money and property, but we’re his experts and investigators covered by the government or not? Because I know sometimes if your lawyer works for free because you don’t have enough money the government still must pay for your experts.b

Vinnie had the chance to actually talk about the evidence in the case, and instead talks about the ephemeral "justice?"
Chad will be sunk by what he said and did BEFORE each death. And what he said and did AFTER each death. And all the lies, to the funeral director, the cops, and to his friends and families. What "innocent man" reacts that way to the deaths of a "friend's" husband and kids? Does he console her? No. He calls a funeral home, lies about who and where he is, to get prices on services. And what "innocent man" reacts that way to his own wife's death? Tries to cremate her against everyone's wishes? Then marries some secret woman TWO WEEKS LATER? Then lies to EVERYONE about how, where and when they met? Then lies about her having no kids?? Tries to flee the police after they find the kids' bodies in his backyard??? and that phone call while the cops were searching. Talking with Lori in jail. Neither of them wondered why the cops were there? Neither of them asked what they could be looking for?? They didn't discuss that, because THEY BOTH KNEW THE KIDS WERE BURIED THERE. Because they had them killed.

It isn't a defense attorney's job to lie on behalf of their client. The notion that trying to argue a total fabrication is some type of perverted ethical responsibility is an anathema to human decency. The fact that this guest could state such a thing with a straight face is the precise point at which we see what has been lost.
