    In this longer chess game video, I play my new favourite opening, the Jobava London System. :)
    I pick a longer time limit, 15+10, my aim is to really explain the thought processes behind the moves that I am playing.

    I have purchased every Jobava and Dutch course that Simon has done. They are all terrific but this latest Jobava course is the most thorough of them all. Well worth the $ as his courses are.

    Great video Simon! Have you thought about playing blitz session of pure Jobava London with Jobava himself? He's such a nice guy and last time you played with him was great! Would be good promotion for the course as well. :)

    Love the long plays! I ripped my hairs apart when you didnt play (in the "fun" position) Bxh7+. You missed (or wasn't t explosive enough?) that after Kxh7 you had Qh5+ winning on the spot : Kg8 Rxg7+Nxg7 Rxg7+ Kxg7 Bh6+ Kg8 Qg4+ Kh8 Qg7++. More explosive but perhaps dubious was the other move order: Bxh7+ Kxh7 Rxg7+ Nxg7 Rxg7+ Kxg7 Qh5! f6 (best defense i think) Bh6 and Qg4 next move looks strong enough. Seems explosive enough to start a revolution. Thanks for he content maestro! Going to buy this Jobava DVD.
    edit : didn't see there was a computer analysis at the end, my bad

    Like Mark, I´ve purchased the Jobava course as well as the Ginger GM method. Simon is an excellent presenter and I´ve learned a lot from his DVDs. I like that Simon wants you to understand the ideas and not memorize lines. Each single video has one particular theme which Simon often illustrates using some very instructive GM games.

    Long play games where the thought process is explained is good because lets face it - nobody's learning anything watching 90 mins of someone rattling through a bunch of 1 to 5 minute games!

    I’ve been working through the Chessable course. Have only gotten through about 20% of it so far but still gave three players rated 300-500 points higher than me a run for their money in 10 minute blitz last night, including one win. None had seen the opening before.

    Is it called the Greek Gift because a Trojan Horse would be confusing since it's not a knight that's being offered? :) I've been playing for 3 months now. Love the vid's from GingerGM!

  • @h1a8
    @h1a8 Před 4 lety

    I understand the Jabova London is a system for the white side. So what opening system do you recommend for black side if someone doesn't have a lot of time to study theory?
    And I see two prices on the site. What's the difference?

    • @ralphdenver8174
      @ralphdenver8174 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm not qualified to answer the opening part of your question, but I believe the price difference in Chessable is because you can buy just the move trainer which is cheaper, or you can get the move trainer with the videos explaining the ideas.

  • @Cruz0e

    26:10 instead of Bh6 I was thinking Qh5 ? (he cant take with knight its pinned by Rook) how he gonna defend Qxh7 next move? and ideas of Q takes that pinned knight after king moves or Bh6 after knight moves

    the normal 2.Bf4 is a better move order to get in the Jobava london system than 2 Nc3 because it avoid the pin variation wich is a positional refutation to the 2Nc3 move order giving =+ to black of course with 2 Bf4 you have to know other London system variation but Bf4 is the correct way to play. not 2 Nc3

    Again your not doing a very good job at selling the course by playing complicated lines most of us want easy to learn systems and get wins with as little effort as possible.
