Every time you give us a thumbs up a Narwhal gets its horn! (maybe..)
J and ben, you guys should totally do an open book quiz where you guys have all 7 books and you have to find the page number of the quote! The first to find it gets one point. if both of you need help, the hints can include the person speaking it or the book.
This would be incredibly chaotic I need them to do it
I really like this idea!!
This is a great idea!
YES PLEASE
@@imogenmcarajames same
Given all the recent quizzes, I was expecting the first question to be "What's the name of the Weasly's home?"
That actually would have been hilarious. 😂
Or ‘What is the Burrow?’ But I completely agree with you
What is Ron's last name :P
what is the name of the family that lives in the weasley‘s home called the burrow?
😂
Book 2, chapter 3: The burrow. "it looks as though it had once been a large stone pigsty but extra rooms had been added here and there". Sorry J, very clearly Harry's first impression! 😅
I literally just paused the video to look this up too
@@RosieRosieCool Same!
So is it pigsty in the UK version and pigpen in the American version?
@luckyducky7484 yeah I think so, which is where the confusion is coming from 🤷♀️
@Lucky Ducky must be, that'd be a pretty logical explanation
New candle scent: Quaffle Pie. Basically an apple pie scented candle - perhaps with a hint of leather.
Alternate title: “Quidditch in the Orchard” same scent, I love the hint of leather you mentioned 😂 perfect!!!
oooo ima do it just you wait
I'm willing to bet Ethan is just sitting there NOT waving and just staring at Ben like "I can't believe you lie to them like that, I'm not lifting my arm because you don't control me" 😆
I haven’t touched the books in years, but the pride that surged through me when I guessed “the kitchen” for where the talking mirror was is unimaginable
I can't imagine it!
Same! I guessed almost everything else wrong, but not that 😻🙌
the amount of rage i can feel radiating off of j through the whole quiz is hilarious
I'm kinda disappointed he didn't do the thing where he gets a question wrong and taps the screen with his pen say, "yea, but..." or "I'm more right"
@@NYXBAR Especially since he lost!
@@NYXBAR He kinda did with the "how many floors" question, by arguing whether or not the attic counts.
The mirror in The Leaky Cauldron says; "You're fighting a losing battle there, dear." when Harry is fussing with his hair.
I felt so scene. I actually do put on the j vs b playlist and go to sleep to it. Their voices and sound effects are so soothing and comforting to me.
I’ve “rewatched” both parts of the full if Harry was in Slytherin every night since December
I also go to sleep to J vs Ben playlist. It quiets my brain from my nighttime anxiety attacks.
Regarding the mirror question.
There is a mirror at the burrow that tells Harry to “tuck your shirt in, scruffy!”, AND a mirror at the leaky cauldron that says, “that’s the spirit, dear.” This is in relation to Harry talking to himself where he says’ “I’m not going to be murdered.” In book 3. I believe there is another thing that mirror says to him, but I can’t remember it
I wanna say it was something like "Comb your hair!" or "Stand up straight!", but I can't find the exact quote
One says, "You're fighting a losing battle, dear," when Harry tries to fix his hair, but I can't remember which one.
@@Vsmit00 looked it up in my book, that's the one in the leaky cauldron
It's interesting that the book describes the Burrow as a "pigsty" because in the second HP film when Harry, Ron, and the twins arrive there is a pigpen with two pigs at the front of the house.
Almost as if the first floor actually IS the pig pen!
@@claraphillips7900 True. Of course in the last film after the Death Eaters burn down the Burrow it is rebuilt
@@AliAngelpie It was rebuilt with magic. It was the "Conform to the Book" spell.
@@PhilBagels True
Not gonna lie, I was a little devastated when I thought the quizzes were over. Glad you're still going, but you need to bring back papa Carlin to keep you in line!
I literally just read the Portkey chapter in book 4 THIS MORNING so the Fawcetts not being able to get tickets to the world cup was fresh on my mind!
Its followed up with Amos Diggory saying that "There aren't any more of us in this area, are there?"
I knew that, but couldn't remember the name.
I remembered that easily same for the other first questions before that question.
So I forgot the name and mistook their situation with the lovegoods
I was thinming MacMillan, I knew it was someone with 1 kid at Hogwarts...dang.
So do they live in the country?
The editor putting the Attack of the Clones clip during the question after talking about Hayden is the nice touch that makes a difference
The Harry Potter Wiki lays out the floors like this:
1st: kitchen, scullery, living room, Ginny's bedroom
2nd: Fred and George's bedroom, Percy's bedroom
3rd: bedroom that was Bill and Charlie's
4th: Arthur and Molly's master bedroom
5th: Ron's bedroom just beneath the attic
I don't know that there is any support for this specific layout from the books. All the references to book text (on that particular page about the Burrow) say "several stories". So I don't think it is ever specified how many floors there are, let alone what exact floor every bedroom is on.
It's probably inferred from which rooms are next to each other, because I'm sure it says what floor some of them are on.
I counted the attic as a floor and thought Ginny's room was off the ground floor, but I like this layout!
If Bill and Charlie had their own room, why did Fred and George have to share with Harry and Ron at the beginning of Goblet of Fire? I'm also pretty sure Ginny's room is on the 3rd floor
@@jethro4453 didn't fleurs parents stay in that room?
yeah, I never take the wiki as canon without checking their sources, because sometimes they use movie scenes or even game refrerences as "facts", and they also include anything in the Cursed Child as canon.
The Burrow adds a floor any time Bill and his wife are there
Now I have the vision of "I WAS IN THE SHOWER" being shouted as the house just grows a new floor one day.
1 - CONGRATS BEN!
2 - I love that the scene behind the questions actually shows pigs!
3 - I really do hope there's someone reviewing the captions (they're automated to begin with) for accuracy on this one just so they see themself being talked about!
you can't review or change the captions, unless they reverted it back to the original system, recently.
@@thecommander9137 Not SCB, but isn't there someone who can at YT, either ensuring they're right before it goes out, or if someone complains? I hope so just for the image of them wondering why J and Ben were talking about them.
@@SheepdogSmokey at YT? no, it's AI generated, that why you'll still flaws in translation or inaccuracies.
It was a removed feature for people to translate or caption videos, due to some people advertising their channels (and when it was called out, they said less family friendly things with those tools), in said captions.
Obviously I can be wrong, it could have been reinstated since I last looked it up. Though I do not think I am wrong.
@@thecommander9137 Ah well, it was a nice fantasy of someone wondering.
I know that Tom Scott has color coordinated closed captions for the Technical Difficulties channel, so I know it can be reviewed and changed, but I don’t know if they have someone at CZcams do it or if they have a separate team
Living for that Luna dance intro!!
Not as good as Luna and her dad flapping their hands during the wedding in the deathly hallows 1 though
The closed captioning is actually done automatically by the CZcams AI unless you do it yourself. Its actually very easy to do it yourself. Assuming you are using Premiere Pro to edit there is a tab for captions. Tell it to create a transcript. Make sure the transcript says what you want or make any corrections. Then when you export the file have the captions burned in or exported to a srt file to add separately. I think there is another export method specifically for CZcams, but I haven't messed with that yet. I've been making some videos for work so I've been recently learning this. As a member of the handicap society and an advocate of accessibility awareness, Those captions are very important and as grateful as we are to have at least something, if you all could please take the few minutes to generate them and make sure they are correct, it would help us a lot. Thank you and for all the hard work you do.
They paid to have it done. In the caption settings there is a choice of English or English (auto generated). The last one is from CZcams.
The bit on four-player quidditch was the funniest thing on this series since the eel farm.
6:37 'No, the Lovegoods have been there for a week already and the Fawcetts couldn't get tickets,' said Mr Diggory.
Goblet of fire, the portkey
I believe Fawcetts are mentioned in the Portkey chapter, with Amos saying why only their two families are there that day. The Lovegoods were mentioned there too.
I think they were using apples to avoid attracting Muggle attention, and they obviously couldn’t use bludgers or the snitch for the same reason.
I can see it now "they're flying around!" But those are apples, not a weird ball, so they're clearly not showing off magic" from some ministry flunky.
And as for size, there are enlarging charms in the wizard inch world. So my theory is Molly enlarges an apple each week for them to play with that’s more quarrel sized. When that wears out or breaks, they pick another.
So with quaffled apples you might only need one apple to make that most perfect of Thanksgiving pies!
22:23 I think that's actually explained in one of the books where the reason the weasleys don't have a quaffle is a) they lost in a distance contest (ie Fred George and ron were fooling around with it and it took off and never returned) and b) they're too poor to replace it and Mrs Weasley wont let them because of the distrubance they caused for the local muggle village (St otters Catchpole)
Ottery St. Catchpole
@@dothedo3667 Sorry! my bad! Im terrible with the town names in HP..
Love the closed caption of flord anglia was lord egg layer
18:38 My answer was "in Harry's trunk" because he has the mirror to talk to Sirius.... that he decides NEVER to use
Ethan asking the realest question at 28:50 "what's everybody?"
Let us know if you figure that out, friend!
TBH, I get better at Harry Potter trivia by listening to these two taking the quizzes.
6:47 “10 points from Hufflepuff Fawcett and the same from Ravenclaw Stebbins”
The autogenerated closed captions at 9:20 decided to describe the scoffs as [Music] in case you were wondering. Great video as always btw
This quiz was pure chaos and I love it
The dance at the beginning was amazing 😂
It was lovely
I love this video. All of the banter from the ridiculousness of the questions was just so fun and goofy!
Luna Lovegood would be a great raver...Ethan, that is such a great statement and so true. Jonathna, the Duck in a Cup Captain shirt is so great. Ay-Ay Captain!
I'm really surprised you guys didn't remember "pigsty" because I remember quite clearly being taken aback by that description when I read it!
I always say “we have to answer these questions from remembory” because once you said it ok accident, and I really liked it
When J put cabbage on Question 12
*MY CABBAGES!*
GREAT episode guys!! I never laughed so much at work!! (Yes, I'm actually at work right now--Shh! Don't tell anyone! 😏)🤣🤣🤣 I ❤ you guys for making my workday more fun! Thank you! 🥰
Happy my boy Ben won. I absolutely did not get the question about who lives near the burrow, I remembered only Lovegoods and Diggory. And talking mirror in a 3d book said: you’re fighting a lost battle.
6:58 i was reading gof today and Ms Fawcett was one of the people who tried to put their name in the goblet
I have been so eager for this quiz. 😁 Are you guys going to do your annual resorting this year?
When are you planning a livestream next, some of my absolute favorite content from you guys due to your amazing humor on the spot!
I barely remember reading the books when i was younger and pigsty rings a bell
Also you guys should watch A Series Of Unfortunate Events It annoys but Satisfies!
Can you imagine using a cabbage?
George it was your turn to bring it. YOU FORGOT MY CABBAGE!
I'm sure there is a mirror in the burrow that tells Harry to tuck his shirt in.
Anyone else feel called out at the end😂 I 100% listen to the quiz playlist to fall asleep at night lol
I'm excited about this! I'll watch it as soon as I have time.
To be fair they probably used engorgement (engorgio) charm on the apples
Its a cool Easter egg that Hermione’s patronus is an otter and Ron lives in Ottery st Catchpole. It’s also cool that Ron’s patronus (jack Russell terrier) is bred for hunting animals such as otters, alluding to the fact he “chased” Hermione! I hope everyone finds these facts as fun as I do, I love the Harry Potter community!!✨ 🥰☺️😁
6:43 the third family is mentioned in GOF when they’re at the portkey
This was hilarious, and really informative! Like Ben, I would’ve thought that the Burrow had 7 floors (wonder why lol), but it’s cool to know they have 5.
4:00 It says it when Harry FIRST ARRIVES at the Burrow (ch 3 book 2) when he gets his first look at Ron's home.
"It looked as thought that it had once been a stone *pigsty* but extra rooms had been added here and there until it was several stories high..."
The 1st question was in the books I specifically remember it. When Harry 1st sees the bureau that is how he describes it.
Gonna have to dock a point for spelling Burrow incorrectly. lol
I did look this up. The only named Fawcett wasn't even fully named. It was a girl known as S. Fawcett who attended Hogwarts at the same time as the trio and was in Ravenclaw. She and her family did indeed live near the Burrow.
I could relate to the brothers a lot in this quiz
Percy Fawcett was a British archeologist that went missing in the 1920s while looking for a lost city in South America
My automated captions 12:07
"Floating Leah lord" 😆
Oh it gets better
"Egg layer of your angry yeah"
And finally
"A further and clearer indeed"
Page 29 Chamber of secrets It looked as though it had once been a large stone pigpen, but extra
rooms had been added here and there until it was several stories high
and so crooked it looked as though it were held up by magic
I love you both so much but i love when Ben wins😂
There are ZERO Fleurs in the Burrow, because she lives with Bill in the Shell Cottage.
Can we find in the Hogwarts Library: The Journeys of Saint Catchpole. SideNote: I think the Closed Captioning people deserve sainthood after this quiz.
Very excited, I got the same score as Ben without reading them first. But, I knew the pigpen one and missed another
I love the quaffle pie idea! I didn’t have the best day today, so this really made me laugh. (Plus, I just want to know what bruised apple pie would taste like!)
I went to Ottery St Mary (the inspo for catchpole) yesterday for lunch :) it’s named Ottery as the river Otter runs through the town - it’s near to the city Exeter where J.K went to university.
Yes! More awesome trivia!
Also it came out as “floating leah lord egg layer of you angry yeah a further and clearer indeed” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I watched this video with the closed captions and it was amazing (:
I’m slightly concerned at the fact that I know the books better than J and Ben now. I knew the exact part of GOF where they mention the Fawcets. Amos Diggory mentions how the couldn’t get tickets and the Lovegoods had already been at the campsite. I also knew the pigpen answer right away.
Another win streak for Ben has begun. Here's hoping this is finally his year. It's been looking good so far.
Ben here is some advice. Jonathan gets angry when he’s wrong so we root for you. The problem is you let Johnathan think too long. When you are ready you need to tell him to turn. Somehow when he thinks a long time he tends to get it right. You have to rush him
Side not did anyone else see Rupert Grint British GQ magazine? Cause he went from great aunt Tessie to Weasley is our King!
Quaffle Pie a la mode for Thanksgiving or Quaffle Coleslaw at summer picnics? More special treats from today's sponsor: 'Magical Factor'!
I was honestly very hesitant with this quiz because there are many things that I knew but then there were other questions that I had no clue what they were talking about 😂😂 It was a very good mix. And considering I’ve never done this quiz before I was very excited because SO MUCH happens at the Burrow!
A catchpole was a sheriff's deputy in charge of collecting taxes and other debts, these days the term Bailiff is more common.
Keep up the good work Ben and J great Vids you guys are amazing
Love these quizzes! Are you guys going to do any Hogwarts Legacy content after it releases? A couple quizzes with that as the subject would be awesome!
Pigsty is the thought Harry has when he first ever sees the Burrow, flying towards it in the Ford Anglia, he thinks it looks like a pigsty with many extra rooms stacked on top and held together by magic
Fun fact, phlegm originates from the word Flemming for Alexander Flemming the discoverer of penicillin. He was constantly getting friends and relatives to cough up stuff for his petri dishes. So pretentiously calling your University Williams and Flem wouldn't be that far off Jay... nerd facts
The word comes from Ancient Greece quite before Alexander Fleming.
@@buffy0214 You're right. I was under a mistaken impression. Thanks for informing me.
Apple makes sense size wise if you want to still handle it one handed (like they do thanks to those indents on the quaffle)
Especially when the kids are still growing so their hands are smaller
I love how many answers I know SPECIFICALLY from having heard the information in different quiz videos 🤣
Same! I was thinking some of the non-QM questions are threepeats even!
Closed captioning student here, better known as a court-reporting student or stenographer. Practicing on my steno machine while you were talking all about me! My 2 minutes of fame with The Carlin Bros!
thank you. love the quizzes
You are correct in that there is a mirror at the burrow that tells Harry to touch his shirt in. I don't recall what roommates in though. The only reason I remember that is because I literally just was listening to the audio book while working.
Laughed extra hard this time!
the faucet were in the fourth book briefly mentioned by amos when he was talking about who was arriving at the port key (I believe)
The talking mirror is in the leaky cauldron in the movies, in the book there is one in the burrow, it tells harry something along the lines of him looking dishevelled and needing to clean up
I feel that there were 2 talking mirrors. 1 at the Burrow and 1 at the Leaky Cauldron
And two other important enchanted mirrors (that both had a lot to do with Dumbledore)
I checked the closed captions and when he does the ‘audible scoff’ it says it’s ‘music’ 😆
So much fun with the closed captions lol
I forgot about you guys and regret it I love this channel
2:39 Wow. THAT, I hadn't thought of before.
Oh, my goodness! When I was a little girl, we had neighbors with the last name Faucett!
I finally beat you guys! I got 11! Btw....laughed out loud at you, commenting about the British waking up talking about their Thanksgiving quaffle pie! Thanksgiving...LOL
There is a talking mirror in the Burrow as well as the Leaky Cauldron. The one in the Leaky Cauldron is much nicer, saying something along the lines of “that’s not gonna work dear”. Whereas the one in the Burrow says “tuck your shirt in, scruffy”
Ben has been doing well in the past few quizzes. Beating Jay more often than usual.
That "pigsty" description must be a British thing. In the US, a pigsty is little more than fencing around mud. No standing structure would ever be described as 'looking like a pigsty'.
Now I have “Put that thing back or so help me!” In my head 😂😂
Don't think I've seen you guys have such a hard time.
I loved it ^-^
I am genuinely watching this video while taking a break between making the pie crust and making the filling for an apple pie - or apparently a quaffle pie!
4:00 It's in the Chamber of Secrets, Chapter 3: The Burrow. It's the description Harry has when he first sees the Burrow.
10:10 I said "casserole full of love" 😂
