However, southern louisianan (baton rouge, New Orleans, etc)families tend to avoid that through extreme diversity of people's and cultures. Here In baton rouge, everyone's a little mixed, and not just like the people in the northern US claim; here it is quite hard to find anyone who's more than 80% anything, and chances are that if you're 100% white, your family may have engaged in incest. This specifically happened with some, like the Le Blanc and guidry families.
As someone born in Metarie Louisiana i can also vouch for how common quality french bread is in the greater New Orleans area, Literally everywhere and everyone eats it. Its just a thing and no one thinks about it haha
As a port city New Orleans is home so many cultures and cultural blends. An amazing place to be. The distinct diversity from one district to another makes a trolley ride a cultural time tunnel.
Had a Po Boy while I was in New Orleans a few years ago and that bread is so fucking good. It's kind of rough and it's takes a little effort to tear off a bite, but it's also very chewy and delicious. 10/fucking10

A lot of people are like it's just a sandwich but its what it represents. Food can unite people from different cultures. It's really nice to see people willing to try food from another culture and be inspired by it. I still remember my friends being disgusted or afraid of pho or stir fried noodles. Also I remember when I would go to Viet restaurants there would only be Vietnamese customers and now its diverse.

Here in spokane wa there are a plethora of veitnamese , korean , japanese and chinese resurants . My goto place is Three sisters Vietnamese , the hoagies are freakin awesome and 4 bucks . The whole menu is worthwhile .
