- In this video I put to the test my brand new Predator 5000 generator I got from Harbor Freight. I use this generator to power my toy hauler in extreme conditions while off grid camping in the mountains and at hare scramble races. I've only used it a handful of times so far, but it has performed very well, especially in the middle of winter keeping my camper warm. Time will tell how reliable and durable it is, but I think it will do us good for many years to come with just basic maintenance. I really love how quiet this thing is.
Remote on /off super handy. Best selling feature for me.
I have a predator 2000 for my pop up camper and it’s a great little generator. It runs my air conditioner and all my electronics. I have plugged in and do it. Plus we we plug-in our air fryer and it runs both the air conditioner and the air fryer which I didn’t think it would do. But I would recommend the next size up for my needs. But we’ve been happy with our predator generator. My brother has the predator 3500 and he runs his entire camper little bit smaller than yours plus he plugged in his other enclosed box trailer and runs all the lights and power tools in it. Yeah, we’ve been both happy with our predator generators for the past two years. All I’ve done was change the oil, and keep the air freshener nice and clean as the instructions in the manual states and I recommend them. Great video thanks for sharing.
What air freshener do you use? Glade Plug-In?
@@basketballjones6782 I was looking at your comment and I am like what air freshener is he talking about. Then I noticed in my comment that it was supposed to say air filter nice and clean instead of air freshener LOL
The remote stop has my interest peaked.
Yeah it's super handy
How do you check the fuel leveel? I'd hate to run out of gas.

Good video. Have you had any issues with this generator?
No issues so far
So does it run the AC in your trailer no problem?
Yup, no problem. The AC and the microwave at the same time.
that doesnt sound right at all on that cold start. glad i bought the powerhorse 4500i. even after 3000 hours, she starts up right away, 2 year factory warranty, built in 30 amp plug, no co sensor to go bad, and just way more reliable over the predator line i must have went through 5-7 predator 3500's and they never went past 1500 hours and even that was a struggle...
Any problems out of the powerhouse?
@@brandonyeager4217 nope, 3200 hours on it now and still runs perfectly
FYI cell phones use a transformer, so do laptops, so they don't need pure sine wave. But there are things that do for sure.
hey, thanks for the correction!
Cell phones use a switching supply, not a transformer supply. Switching supplies also have transformers in it, but not as in what you're talking about. They don't need a pure sinewave to power them though, for sure.
@@basketballjones6782 thanks, I'm still learning about these things
