2 minutes away from disaster 😂 I’ve been there myself. 2 seconds before total nightmare. But you were lucky with the brake lines this time.

Interestingly, it was the dealership which fitted the hoses before I bought the car. They also replaced the metal pipework so that you needed to bend it out the way to change the pads! I replaced the pipework, but hadn't realised the hoses were incorrect!

My 130GL with 4 pot calipers were very good, they were even better when I changed the pipes for braided ones as the flexible ones were cracking. The other mod was 2 bags of sand in the boot!

I found pumping them grease helped with the play used to do it just before mot
