Love how in recent games in the mainline series Bowser is completely different. In Mario Odyssey he was organising a wedding and we fought him in a Mario 64 sort of way. In Bowsers Fury he's a nightmare fuel giant possessed by the some sort of black ink/paint and the fight was a giant cat Mario against Bowser. In Mario Wonder he fueses with a castle and we are fighting what could be considered his soul of the castle

This is like what Paper Mario Sticker Star came up with but this is a better way for Bowser to present his need for power.

Cosmic Mario is one I heavily adored upon his return. His original variations terrified me as a younger self, and now understanding the principle of this soulless character, I can safely say that I adore him. An unexpected but great return if I can say so myself.
yeah, I played 3d land a lot, and the cosmic clone levels are difficult as heck. Those few levels here seem a bit easier compared to the galaxy games and 3d land.
I fucking love Bowser taking a break to jam out to his own music. It's such a wholesome touch!!!

@@ViorbyX True even after i was like harsh on his battle, i would say he sure has the visual style, even though Wonder gives me such sour taste given that all bosses just feel underwhelming, but Bowser isnt dissapointing, he vibes to his rock music and we do too, but does he do like try i would think not so much.

yea i know right and i really enjoyed that the koopalings Weren’t In The Game most of us including myself were rallying for Them to Be Removed from the series and thank god they were they’re some of the worst bosses in the series especially compared to this games unique version of bowser jr at least they actually felt unique compared to the koopalings which don’t feel unique at all besides the characters themselves they can have the koopalings once in a while but every damn game yea.. No Thanks and i agree with you the final boss was just so unique that it’s probably my favorite in the whole series now

I thought bowser was one of the worst bowser fights there is. It was the most lazy typical hands and floating head design, and the boss itself was incredibly boring and lack any creativity. Great levels but terrible, disappointing boss fights. Just finished now.
Bowser Jr. FINALLY toughened himself up! It takes more than 3 hits to take him down now. About time, Nintendo!

I like how that thumbnail implies those were actual bosses and not chase sections. In reality, Bowser Jr.'s the only boss except the final one.
True, when that thumbnail showed up in my recommendations before playing the game I thought there were different bosses, I was so disappointed when I realized there were no more real bosses
Which I'd argue is the biggest flaw of this game
Wonder is a amazing game and one people are gonna love for times to come
But I wish they did more boss fights that weren't just BJ or Bowser Himself
Outside of that tho, games amazing and allows Daisy to commit Girlboss behavior so I can't complain too much
I love how they at least tried to make the fights good for people who actually want a challenging boss fight every so often

Yah, I felt the same way with the first two Bit Trip Runner games, especially Runner 2. They have fun boss fights, but I'm not a big fan of the fact that they're all Timbletot!
While I don’t like how the castle bosses are all Boswer Jr, I love that the final boss is actually a different Boswer battle.
I wish all 7 koopalings were present in addition to Bowser jr. Learning they were back when I saw the advert for new super Mario bros wii was a rather happy moment, even though my first Real gaming system was the gameboy advance, not the NES. So I didn’t have to wait nearly as long for the koopalings to return. (Technically my first gaming system was the gameboy color, but I only ever got 3 games for it, then the gameboy advance came out.)

I know its boring to have the Koopalings again, but they missed the chance to make a crazy 1v7 fight with all of them. This could be a great boss. Also, Petey Piranha , King Bomb-Omb, Kamek and other bosses could appear instead of Bowser Jr so many times. This is a minor complaint though, boss fights are not important in 2D Mario games and the game is still fantastic.

Given what we got I'd have preferred the Koopalings since at least each has a somewhat distinct fighting style
Compared to the first 4 main bosses being the same thing with only the Wonder to effect to really differentiate things

Super Mario Bros Wonder overall is a very great game that expands the Mario universe into a whole new level but I just still wish the bosses were at least more concentrated on Instead of being Bowser Jr. for the zillionth time.

Aw man, I was expecting more cool and challenging boss fights. These seem very simple and just an easy idea for a boss fight. Ik the jr fights are a call back to new super Mario bros ds but still

can't help but think a Shadow of the Colossus style boss fight would've been perfect for Castle Bowser
Don't mind me randomly barging in with my probably unpopulair opinion, but I think that the koopalings could have had some really cool fights if you look at how Jr has changed now. I honestly just hope we can get a game soon where we can learn more abt them

Bosses have never been the strongest point for Mario. Even if there more variations of bosses rather than Bowser Jr. or Boom Boom, they all go down pretty easily. So it doesn't surprise me here.

In the NSMB series, they went from a variety of bosses to koopalings to only bowser jr. Why do they continue to narrow the scope for their bosses?

Yes so this is the first super mario bros game since the original new super bros one in which they don't appear but Kamek at least returns but he isn't fought in this game, only Bowser and Bowser Jr and other ones so at least different ones than Wii and U.
This has to be my favorite Bowser fight, its not the hardest but its fun to listen to.

Lets be honest here, every boss fight was underwhelming except bowser, that was awesome. I feel like the devs focused to much on the wonder flower mechanic that they forgot to incorporate actual boss fights and a decent amount of power-ups. Also, why are the levels super short, it feels like they were rushing.
They're not rushing anything. If they were rushing, then this game would be unfinished. As for the power-ups, they want to have brand new power-ups while keeping a few old power-ups. You can't have everything you know.
Juniors gotten bigger and stronger, just another sign that he’s growing up.

I like how they gave the title character some actual personality in this one. To be frank in his past 2d excursions Mario tended to have as much character as a cardboard cutout.
The best part of this game is the music, hands down. I just beat the final boss and the music is awesome. I love how the music is incorporated into the fight.

I was pretty underwhelmed from the boss fights. At least bowser was really cool.
The fact you had to include stuff like “Leaping Smackerel” “Golden Bowser Statue” and the cosmic Mario just proves how pitiful this game is when it comes to bosses.
The Koopalings are not in this game, due to the contract of this game. Maybe in the second game they'll add the Koopalings as bosses.

Let’s be honest, 2D Mario games have never had good bosses. The only really good ones are the final bosses of each game, and this one delivers.
The problem is not that bowser jr. repeats, but the problem is is that there’s not enough bosses

I’m love everything about this game but The fight against Bowser was super underwhelming and easy. I was expecting another phase or a different area while fighting him. I don’t think I got hit once when fighting him.
this is gonna be hard to get used to because its so.. different but ill give it a chance when I get it.
