    As someone who deals with anxiety disorder, I agree with you. It is just cortisol waking us up. Sometimes, these hormones can act up and we feel more symptoms that we should. As my favourite doctor in anxiety disordes field, dr Claire Weekes, said: It's just an electrical discharge. And she also suggested that we get up from the bed as soon as we wake up and don't ruminate and catastrofise. Anxiety symptoms are unpleasant but not dangerous. I know all of this, lived through so many panic attacks but still have some days with very high anxiety and restlessness. And since my biggest problem is still dizziness - fear. When I do, I get dishearted. I have still much to do on that attitude of self criticism and making my brain feel safe because fear, danger sygnal precisely is in the core of everything.

    Morning anxiety can almost be like its own condition. Some of us feel awful in waking.. and yet better as the day goes on. Dan is right, it’s a mental and physiological process. Who knows why some of us get more than others. But those who experience it at high levels recognize how hard it can be. He’s also right... allowing it to be there and burn off as we tend to our day is the only way through. Over time it gets better as the sensitization in the body lessens. But it’s a process. Shout out to those who deal with it.... it will get better. Stay patient and don’t let the narratives of the brain in the morning dictate your day. Keep living and moving through that temporary storm and peace will come.

      I'm finding that the more I am indifferent and push with doing everyday things..the less anxiety I get. I was doing great for a while then past week I had anxiety about anxiety. Slowly coming out of it. It's a process. Its different then having anxiety about pain because when the pain goes so does the anxiety. When you have anxiety as the symptom and have anxiety about it, you feel abit lost

      It's like a cycle. I can go for weeks with no morning anxiety. Then it can come back for a few weeks. But the knowledge that getting up and doing stuff helps and it will calm down and f**k off eventually helps 😂😁👍
      Speaking from a point of at my worst being stuck in an extreme anxiety panic attack state for about a year solid.

    Another morning of shaking and anxiety. Waking at 4am. Since April. Have had a rough 3 years of stress and loss. But Whatever the reasons, I am so weary of it. I just listened to your talk here and I totally agree with all you say and the fact that you have kept it so simple and understandable, but I have googled myself into oblivion and fear about my mental and physical reactions to it all. Running to the doctor for different ailments. All the things I should be doing or have to do to be “normal”. Things I have to eat or drink to be normal. All To control my anxiety. I try to breathe, try to tell my brain I am safe and try to push the unknown fears I have into the background, nothing seems to help. I feel pretty hopeless. I see other talks from you that I want to listen to on CZcams. You make more sense to me than anything I have found so far. Uncomplicated. Thank you for being there.

      Watch the video again. Know that the anxiety is likely just the subconscious brain going "oh no, another day, more pain, how bad is today going to be?" and the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol flooding into the bloodstream. Understanding that nothing dangerous is happening and taking steps to relax, breathe, soothe and move on with your day will greatly help.

    I've noticed theres different forms of anxiety and panic. Life situations where you react to things like relationship issues or work issues yadda. another form is an alarm, body telling you something is wrong or is too sensitive because of a life events and needs to be recalibrated by letting the body mind limbic system know that you are safe.

    Good video!!!! I attended a 3 principles anxiety course almost 2 years ago. It helped me to a point. The spot where I got stuck was when I would wake up super anxious before my mind started having thoughts. I found out it was my cortisol levels. I started practicing mindfulness before bed. It helped me. It’s not 100% gone but now I just remind myself it will pass. It’s just my body producing too much cortisol. Thanks for this video!!! 💗

    I've been waking up feeling anxious quite frequently for about a year or two. I've found if I get up and think about and try to think my way out, that doesn't work. If I get moving some way as soon as possible that seems to help burn off the stress hormones and I feel more relaxed. Thanks for another good one, Dan!

      Given pain that severe, the best thing you can do is choose your response to the pain. Spend some time visualizing yourself getting well. You are likely already using visualization each and every day. Unfortunately, you may be visualizing yourself NOT getting well. Change the movie you watch in your head and spend time each day visualizing yourself doing well, getting out of bed, out of the house and getting back into life. Baby steps will still get you walking again.

    I had an adverse reaction to antibiotics. It has really screwed up my nervous system. Terrible anxiety, pain, depression, about 50 others symptoms. • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 3 lety +3

      If you stopped the antibiotics, they are likely out of your system now, so the adverse reaction should stop too. Have your doctor confirm that. In my opinion (not medical advice), Fear and freak out and focus on the symptoms may be what is keeping the nervous system symptoms going. Apply the general TMS approach. Decide that your body has already eliminated the antibiotics and that the rest of what is going on is purely learned and perpetuated by fear.
      If your doctor has assured you there is nothing dangerous going on that requires medical intervention, then there is no downside to my suggestions for TMS that intentionally calm, relax and teach the brain there is no danger any longer. czcams.com/video/3vJgBnrhFt8/video.html

      The reaction to the meds was likely just a trigger. Meaning... if it wasn’t that it would have been something else. Imo... the body gets cranked up and eventually we hit a trigger that releases it all. Sounds to me like that’s what happened. Happened to me too. The trick is not to get stuck or buy into the mental narratives about it.

      @@PainFreeYou It’s actually a very common occurrence. There are communities just like the pain community where people discuss their situations. After reading these forums for awhile I’ve noticed that the recovery timeframes are all over the place with some people taking a year to recover and some people taking 7 years for partial recovery. You find this same situation in medication withdrawal boards. I can’t help but to wonder if all these scenarios are tied together with what you’re talking about.

    I have a question about mouth issues and TMS. How does anxiety relate to thrush, yeast infection issues, dry mouth (and eyes) and dental problems.

      Well, when we are in the stress (fight or flight) response, digestion and immunity are suppressed. Digestion includes saliva production which seems very involved in your symptoms. This video speaks to stress. czcams.com/video/QOYFupIdXwg/video.html

      Plain yogurt, held in the mouth for a minute or so, a few times a day, then expelled is a quick way to get rid of oral thrush. You'll see a visible change by the first day, only takes a few.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před rokem +2

      Start by changing the definition of anxiety. It's not a new problem to solve. Trying to get it to go is resistance which will cause it to stay. Indifference to the anxiety is something to try. Do your best to not care if you are anxious. It will pass when you stop trying to push it away. Allow it. Accept it. Even try to make it worse. But then engage your brain in something else. Anything else.

      I have not had a panic attack, you are correct. But I watched my dad have many. Once he got the message that he wasn't dying and that they wouldn't hurt him, they stopped and didn't come back. It's the FEAR that keeps them going. Have you tried to face them and say "bring it on - make it worse"?

      I had awful panic attacks after my daughter was born 9 years ago, numerous times a day I felt like I would pass out and leave my baby there with me out cold, my mum was having to come help me most days, they ruined my life. One day as it started I strapped my baby into her seat so I knew she was safe, sat on the floor and said out loud “F#*k it, do your worst, make me faint, I don’t care anymore, do your worst” and I really didn’t care at that point - and nothing happened. From that moment on they gradually got shorter, less intense and less frequent, I haven’t had one for about 8.5 years. They are scary, I totally understand how you feel but they can go once you really believe you don’t care how they make you feel anymore x
