Been using this razor since 2016. Best one ever. Will never use another razor.

It's great when you find your 'forever' razor! What is it that makes you like it so much?

@@sharpshaves It's the only razor that doesn't butcher my skin. I have really sensitive skin. It gives a close shave too which I like.

Thanks for reviewing the Hydro 5. I think the razor is a dramatic improvement over the 4 blade W and S quattro which was renowned for clogging and I never got on with the safety wires. Good idea to show with and without shaving foam. The blades really do last a long time. I think they're made in the US? Flipping the top also helps to dry out the blades when finished with the shave which helps with longevity. Out of the 5 blade specials which is top for you? I think the BIC for me is top of the pack. Value and quality of shave.

Thanks for a really helpful and considered comment. Yes, the Hydro was definitely pretty decent. The one thing I forgot to mention is that you lose the pivot movement in the head with the gel reservoir flipped. Which isn't great. I think I might need to go back to the Bic to remind myself. I may do a 5 blade special comparing them all together. Cheers

Thanks for this I did wonder why my face was going all sticky, I’ll try shaving without my shaving gel, I’ve got the hydro 3, tried flipping the blue part over but don’t think you can with the hydro 3

I just purchased the Schick hydro 3 sensitive razor. Its ok, but if i had 2 or more days growth, it wouldnt cut through my beard. Schick and Wilkinson Sword are the same thing. I tried the 5 blade as well, same result. Nice concept to the razors, but the blades are just too mild for me. They are comfortable though. Thanks for the review! One more thing, have you tried the Gillette Skinguard? Just curious. JimG

Hi Jim. Thanks for the comment. Yes maybe that's why it missed a bit on my chin all the time. Too mild. You are not the first to suggest skinguard which I need to do next I think. I may try the Schick 3 too then. Thanks for the ideas. Cheers

Very informative - thanks. I’m finding it’s cutting me alot which is a new thing for me. So, i was wondering if there was some special technique that was required which i wasn’t using (?!)

Hi Henry. Hmmm. Not sure why it's cutting you. They tend to nick a bit when they get blunt. Try keep your skin nice and taught. Pull it with your hand if funny faces aren't enough. And don't push too hard into your face. Just let the blade to the work. Hope that helps a bit?

Let me know when someone produce a razor with a 7 or even 10 blades...until that all such 5 blades are small diferences...I first time more than 20 years ago tryed a Wilkinson Sword with 3 blades and was very impressed, over then mostly produced rasors with a 2 or only one blade...later I passed on Gillete Mach 3 and Mach 3 Turbo...stayed with a Gillete all over these 20 years, never back to Wilkinson, not because it's a bad, mostly I use on Gillete,..few years ago I passed from 3 blades to 5 Fusion Priglide razors, was satisfied with that and now I bought a Gillete Lab...I don't notice a much difference between Proglide and Lab...ok first time I shaved with a Lab,and don't feel any single hair on my face,..maybe mostly because blades are a new...anyway,point is there is no much differences...in 5 blades...

Thanks for your comment. Yeah, it has been an interesting progression over the years. I only started looking for the perfect shave when I couldn't get sensor blades any more. I think I notice a difference between 3 and 5 blades. But it is also down to the size and flexibility of the head. Some 5 blades just feel too wide to me. Anyway. Cheers for the comment and all the best. Try the boldking and let me know what you think.

Dorco makes a 6 and 7 blades razor if you wanna try them out.

I'm just looking to order the 7 blade. Surely that has to be the most you can get into a razor head !! Thanks for the idea.

I absolutely hate this razor, it cut me to smithereens. Which I haven't cut myself using my Gillette labs razors for years.. I'll be going straight back to gillette.. Expensive but they are the best
