2 High Grade Mobile Suits for the price of one?! Well there is a little bit of a catch, and that catch is that they are little. This is the HG Loto Twin Set from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, and this might just be the smallest Gundam Mecha HG around.

Hello there mecha
It's the Gundam equivalent of a Mini-con from Transformers!
@@LockeLynx rumble: what?
@@Drn_10 Rumble: Get ready to crumble, before RUMBLE!
Why make these lousy cheap kit??? When will be Tallgeese ll's review???
Fun Fact: These guys were actually developed by the SNRI, so that basically means that these were the predecessors to the F91
Im assuming because of their small size?
Well in the early UC 100's there were less conflict's so the federation wanted to use less money and have smaller but more powerful MS's. SNRI delivered on that with the Formula project and the F90
It’s not though, Loto is a glorified armoured personnel carrier that has no purpose being a full scale MS. The F91 is the culmination of groundbreaking tech being hyper compressed into a small chassis for economical reasons. Seperate development trees too.
Yes and no. Yes, the Loto’s operational data would be later used by SNRI in the development of miniaturized mobile suits like the F91, but the Loto itself is the direct ancestor of the Guntank R-44, which was developed by Anaheim Electronics during peacetime but was considered a failure and never made it past the prototype stage.
@@lukabazookastj9462 lol nope. It's thanks to Loto miniature reactor they managed to perfected them on later mobile suits in late UC era. In the beginning, the Loto made according to ECOAS specs being small and stealthy but they find the Loto useful for future use so they decided to take Loto data to develop what we get in F91 & Victory.
"doesn't play a huge role in the anime"
- manages to take down a MS double its size (Geara Doga, Dreissen) during the battle of Palau
- almost stabs the Sinanju with its Beam Burner also during the battle of Palau, lol.
-dies to the sinanju
also during the battle of Palau
Don’t forget the time where it completely shredded the dra c
@@JJTheSpartan_117 well to be fair the Sinanju is basically the rx-0 minus the wacky ntd system
Fun fact. This is SNRI first made mobile suit before they majorly known as main mobile suit producers in late UC era, beating Anaheim Electronics.
If there's anything SNRI knows, its small mobile suits
Also it's supposed to be the predecessor to the RX-144 Guntank from F91.
@@anime-mun that one was developed by Anaheim though. Also the correct model name is RXR-44, R-44 Guntank.
SNRI's MS became sorta lighthearted inside joke in my gunpla circle/group.
"SNRI made MS, Bandai's excuse to make a smaller kit, but sold at same price as a normal sized kit"
@@First-Name_Last-Name but got 2 of them 😂. imagine if it only 1unit at the price you can get uraven, jiyan ultron and other at the same price. must be really get into the nerve with that size 😂
Didn’t know the Gun Tank and Gun Cannon retired after the war and had a kid?!
Good for them. Love to see it
LOLLL
More like the Guntank and GunCannon had a child, and then that child had a child with an IFV.
Can we appreciate that despite being this small, they both can transform. I honestly expected it to have the MS mode and Transformed mode seperately
Imagine if the dual Loto can be combined together for a 36 manned Gundam that would look like a centaur in robot form.
*unlimited firepower*

@@crowedarken yes i challenging you Mr. Custom builder :)
This isn't the space-type Portanova from 30 Minute Missions
Lototaurus confirmed
I always thought these felt like 8th MS Team leftover concepts.
Small, mobile, carries people and analysts, and more importantly green for the jungle camo.
Imagine Eledore and Michel arguing in this thing over who gets to drive it. Karen would of probably booted it three episodes in.
But this one is interesting and I’ll call it masterchief Megatron

Honestly this would be pretty decent for a stand in Armored Core kit, especially for fans of the original trilogy.
Yes, the trilogy is the best, including Nexus and Last Raven too. Im not a fan of AC series after Last Raven.
I personally disavow the existence AC 4 and AC 5.
AC6 WHEN?

Gotta say, this would probably be the best kit for army building.
Could probably fit really well next to a 30 mm kit as well.
they would blend in quite well with tank and other real-world army model kits... damn i gotta go pick some up
Put it next to the Bradley IFV or any BMP/BTR kit if you have one.
Both are battle taxis in their own universe.
@@johnnypowers2489 right? They’d probably also be good for making dioramas. Some of those weapons could also be good for kibashes.
If anyone is having a hard time remembering this MS, it was that suit that almost stabbed the Sinanju in the face with a beam saber before he caught it.
Also the one that fight Kshatriya before exploded.
@@casvalcat3546 Isn't that the Stark Jegan
@@RivanEXT99 there is Loto in colony piloted by Daguza before exploded after Kshatriya's funnels shoot the Loto and almost hit Banagher and friends before ReZEL(Riddhe) shielded the explosion.
Oh I love this kit. great for army building and comes with a bunch of little tracks that I like to use for kitbashing. been slowly but surely working on a crab tank sort of gundam using the eldora brute and hguc mobile worker. planning on using the tracks in a way so it can not only crawl around, but also drive around.
@Corbin Garrison your probably remembering the skopio xv-1 from 2009 also known as set number 8996.
I'm still trying to find the HGUC Rozen Zulu Ep 7 version at the right price.
Also, you should review this kit, Mecha.
Anime accurate colors
You can build the regular version
Wire guided claw
Great articulation
Perfect companion piece to the Sinanju
Last year I paid...$75 shipped for one on eBay (300% original msrp lol) The Episode 7 ver, so no wonky purple colors. I was (still am) building a Gundam Unicorn display so it was required spending, but after the build its kind of meh. The triple-wire claw's wires never look even or smooth and besides that, it doesn't do anything terribly special, and the fiddly white striping stickers are mandatory to look good, or hell to mask off and paint. The articulation is kind of bad, it can't really pull off the signature ballerina-pose when Angelo hands-off the fight to his Captain. However, it and the Sinanju do provide such a nice splash of color. You should decide for yourself if you really want it for your collection, but it does not need attention from any more reviewers; Zaku's review a few years back is plenty good enough.
@@Tarkay-hs6jl pivot the hips, rotate the waist, and bend the head all the way up.
All neo zeon suits from Unicorn have the sleeves problem. I'd recommend applying superglue with a toothpick.
Zaku reviews everything, and his copy broke mid-review.
Also, there are several ways to get creative with this kit, whether it be adding beam effects or using your own wires for the psycho jammers.
Kinda annoying when a regular kit you want doesn't seem to get reprinted. Recently bought a Zee Zulu at twice the original price. Seller claimed it was a 2011 release, and I'm inclined to believe him after seeing how bad the box look like.
One issue i have with the Ep7 Rozen Zulu is there's not enough polycaps to have both arm options. If you have kept the spare polycaps from other kits, like i have; this shouldn't be an issue. Though that's if you have the correct sprue going spare that didn't use the polycap needed.
@@fishpop It's just one polycap that separates you from making both arms. I'm not sure of any other kits that have that same system.
After some research, every Neo Zeon MS with the Geara Zulu base build has that same system in the arm.
Is it possible to keep the upper arm the same and switch the arm beyond the elbow??
They're literally futuristic Mobile Infantry Vehicles, I love it.
The funny thing would be if they ever make an HG of this "successor", the RXR-44 (F-50D) Guntank R-44, then that would be the smallest HGUC kit but since the F91 kits are in 1/132 scale then the Guntank would almost be the same size(barely half a centimeter smaller if that) as the Loto.
The Loto plays the same role as a US Army Bradley. Armored personnel carrier(APC) and infantry Fighting Vehicle(IFV) all-in-one with minimal anti-armor support.
Didn’t realize it had such a large crew complement! At least a dozen dudes in there at any one time running it, makes sense that it’s such a small unit to reduce its chances of being attacked.
"Running it" might be a bit much, if what he explained is correct. Apparently it's 3-4 people actually operating the machine, and the other 8 using it as the world's coolest bus.
Majority of the soldiers inside this mobile suit are just passengers waiting to be deployed.
This could be easily repainted as Warpath from Transformers
Though you would need to make room for the chest cannon
Tbh this is probably the most realistic MS, it’s essentially a transforming tank.
Damn. This makes Core Gundam look large.
Nobody is going to see this but I'll be that guy and go ahead and say the mega machine cannon isn't a gatling gun. It is, in fact, four different machine guns in a single gunpod, they don't rotate. It's a minor difference but still.
One PSP game, Gundam Assault Survive, the G-Cannon is absolutely broken because of it's two machine cannons. The suit itself is decent but upgrading the machine cannons to max means you just become a stationary death blossom. You can't move while firing but you auto aim and fire so fast that even bosses die in a few seconds if you hit, although they can easily kill you just as quickly because that game wants you to dodge like a spastic weasel. I upgraded it for fun and realized the game played itself afterwards.
The smallest humanoid suit in terms of stature would have to go the Guntank R-44, which I think, was the basis for the Lotos with a very similar transformation gimmick. There's a NG 1/100 kit of the Guntank R-44 and if you adjust the scale to 1/144, between the two, the smaller one would be the R-44.
There is little robot included with HG GM Sniper II. That would be the smallest humanoid robot so far.
"Master chief, would you care to inform us what are you doing on that mobile suit?"
"Sir, finishing this fight"
Oh I love these little guys, I don't have the kits but the fact that you get baby gun tanks in a two pack like the RB-79 Balls is awesome!
i think it's pretty neat how this was uploaded on my birthday. nice to get a Mecha Gaikotsu video on a day like that
Actually it DID register it in Unicorn to me, probably mostly I love tanks and military stuff but I did noticed it and it DID play a huge role in the anime, like taking down Geara Doga and Dressen for example, so I absolutely love the Loto, and I definitely gonna get this Twin Set.
I could these being a bases for a really cool cross over figure
Like imagine a Gundam x transformers set based on these guys
Loto deserved a MG treatment.
OH FINALLY
This mobile suit is propably the most closest it is to real life its a tank an armored personel carrier its artillery support its everything
I like to call it the "Bradley" of Gundam
@@WamuroRiXi08 defenietly
If irl mecha development was such a big thing, a Loto inspired mech can "almost" be a replacement for troop transport in some manner. Of course have better options than missile pods for hands, like actual hands. Even some more computer operated turrets for minor threats. Nonetheless, it's operated by 3-4 people and while having 8 passengers. Plus it's a 2-in-1, mech and armored tank transport
I have those, I must say a pretty cool pair of specialized grunts, plus they're transformable, awesome kit!
The loto is a cool suit. It reminds me of the mobile command thing from 08th MS team role wise as this makes sense as what it would be years later. It's an APC that transforms into an MS
With their change mode between Mecha and Tank these look really like "distant relatives" to the Transformers.
I like that about mecha-tank and the fact of being smaller than a regular High Grade Gundam size but still having a variety of accesories and weapons.
Other than the joints are quite loose, it is a great kit, especially when put it beside the Type 61 and the Magella Attack tank. Now you can have a tank column.
I think the biggest upside here is army building potential. For relatively cheap you can get a lot of fodder (both as tanks and as MS!) to face down a big bad mobile suit in some kind of diorama setting.
I was very impressed with its transformation for how tiny it is, and for its price I can’t help but recommend them just for the experience of building the smallest high grade
This suit actually caught my eye when I was watching the OVA's. Very underrated mobile suit.
I got the old one from F91. It has rubber track. The box art was so awesome.
a nice support grunt, would love to see 1/100 no-grade of this line the Tieren.
We need a new RE/100 Guntank R44. And an HG. But we def need it in 1/100.
I'm planning on grabbing one of these to make a 40k orc mecha, and I just like the design in general
I just got this kit this morning and am super excited to build it
I am obsessed with this tiny 1/144 kit! Ordering it rn to go with my collection!
I loved these when they showed up in Unicorn, never realised they had figures
The components on the left shoulder is half correct, it's an Infrared Search Light, which is still correct
the master grade of this is probably gonna look like a real grade (details and stuff), the perfect grade would look like a master grade
looks very military with that classic boxy aesthetic. i want this
Not sure if you've come across the kit of yet, but the P-Bandai HG Dijeh has a Loto search light that mounts to it's shoulder!
I noticed this mobile suit while watching Gundam Unicorn but it only appeared in one episode if I remember correctly.
I really want to see a MG version of this with fully articulated manipulators and opening missile hatches on the arms
I Love the Loto Design so much, It'd probably fair a whole deal better as a Master Grade
they released a 1/100 scale of the RX-44 Guntank from Gundam F-91 many years ago, its actually a descendant of the Loto design
Well the Loto is literally a troop transport/tank so it would make sense it would be small
I ALMOST think it's the RG hi NU Gundam review before reading the title XD
Really thought we were gonna see a size comparison with the core gundam, cool video regardless
Mecha, is that the AW HWS set? Are we getting a review of that soon? Did you have to fiddle with the leg boosters on yours as well to be able to flex the knees?
Big things come from small packages
-a wise autobot
I’ve been thinking of this kit for a while
To be honest when I first saw the kit I thought like they're going to give 1 MS 1 Tank in it because the Lodo can't transform, but when I bought it I was surprised that I got 2 Lodo that can both transform size aside its quite cool
I forgot how tiny these were. But for their articulation is lack luster but for two of them and they're mainly to be seen as a artillery unit or treated as a tank. Pretty cool.
The Loto is a sweet little kit for a sweet little mech. Don't forget that Daguza 1v1ed the Kshatriya in one and that as long as they get the drop on an MS they can do significant damage.
"No parts-forming necessary" - JobbytheHong
I always keep the light and gun on my 2 lotos the one in tank mode also has the long cannons and the standing one has the machine cannon on the left side the ligh keeps it up
Next to the Nu Gundam, the Loto looks like it's from a completely different scale.
I literally finished building my second unit 3 months ago🤣 it was my return to gunpla after like 5 years
Strangely, the DC05 Loto reminds of GW's original Broadside Tau Battlesuit.
It's mainly the shoulder cannons and missile fists that bring the Broadside to mind.
Huh, always currious about how these thing look but never have the want to buy them, thank you mecha for scratching that itch
That beam machine cannon looks a lot like the missile pods in the arms of the venerable guntank to me.
Daguza proudly salutes you!
Me:"DAD! I want a transformers!"
Dad: "we have transformers at home"
*Transformers at home*
the loto is the last gunpla build i do in years.. love the design.. now can u please review the Hildolfr! really this design also.. but cannot find it anywhere.. and its super expensive too..so pls review this kit! pleaseee!!
lol thought there was going to be one in the box but just now found there are 2 so now I have 4 figures. Hopefully I can figure out what to use them for
Besides the size of it, it almost reminds me of a thirty minute missions kit
Hope you do that cycle Gundam in the back for review
I feel like this is the most realistic and practical mobile suit design to come out.
@Mecha Gaikotsu, oh yes it is spotlight on the shoulder, go to the new tv ver episode 2 around 20:30, you can find it being used.
When the first time I saw lotto I thought the guntank got improvise
This was the first ever thing I built, my brother asked me what I wanted and I should him this he actually found it in the back of the Gundam store thanks to the store owner.
"Master chief what are you doing?"
"Sir Gundam sir"
The thumbnail just screams “meet my son”
This is the only Gunpla build I finished and threw right back in the box.
i always imagine it is a standable Guntank because it has its legs and also caterpillar track
i've wanted some of this kit fo years for kitbashing
I bought these 3 years ago and the other Loto is STILL sitting in the box
Might build him tomorrow
The Loto and Zaku sniper are my first models kits
It's just been added to Gundam Battle Operations 2!
Gotta get a set of these they look fun
I was just looking at this not too long ago!
Ah yes. The extra crew member in the pelvis for "mission specific tasks"🤣
Even look like a rescue fire gaint robot
4:03 WHOAAA WHAT THE-?! I thought it was bigger than the rx-78-2
Didn't think of a Master Chief out of them but turned mine into little Autobots.
that thing would make a good custom backpack to be used like a G-bit from gundam x
Damn, I was expecting the RG Hi Nu Gundam, Still happy though!
i just started this kit this morning and my legs do not connect to the waist unit at all :/ it was a rly cool build too
Do a room tour bro, your collection looks lit
good base for a custom, maybe as a backpack and leg/shoes parts for build fighters styled custom, where be super robot parts former from a rival type characters build
Had this kit posed with the Neo Zeong. It is so small
check out the r44 guntank from gundam f91, it is said to be a development of the loto
