I don’t care how it looks as much as I care how it plays. With WWE for example one thing I cannot stand is how they set the My Rise up. It doesn’t feel like you’re really living out a wrestling career and it’s more like a story mode. For example I’ve reached a point where I have to keep switching between face and heel in order to progress the story. I don’t like that. So I really do hope The AEW has a better create a wrestler mode as well as a proper career mode with story elements rather than a straight up story mode.

ratings need to be loweed a bit.. No way is Darby an 88, hes a cool guy and all but he is really a 76. It should be like FIFA's rating with age taken into consideration and market value. But even Leo Messi when he was a wonderkid in FIFA 06 he was like a 78 and Neymar in 2010 rookie year was a 73. HOOK who is in Rookie year is an 80 and Anthony Ogogo an 82.

It doesn’t even take into consideration how good a “technical wrestler you are”. It’s purely based on card position & main event status. In the past, top guys like Cena, Orton, Taker, Triple H are all going to be in the 90’s, while someone that may be a better wrestler but a midcarder will be lower.

If Private Party is not included in the game, then they either piss somebody off backstage or AEW Fan base just don't like them at all.

Not a bad looking roster. I’m just speechless that OWEN HART is on a wrestling video game. That right there is something that a lot of old school wrestling fans will never thought we see but anything is possible. Definitely high key will invest in this game when it’s released.

Only way if this game has the HCTP 4 different grapple system . Each superstar had their unique moveset

I think that's the goal. That's what Kenny was talking about in an interview. Every wrestler having their own real life moveset and kids and people that don't know will like to use certain characters/wrestlers cuz that and then actually become a fan or check them out. Great publicity

Really cool for a concept. Huge roster, nice work. Some of the guys look a little off proportionally, but overall, and without seeing any gameplay action, this looks like it could definitely be a passable entry for a wrestling game.
Personally, I hope they avoid the rabbit hole of power levels. I really have grown to despise that -limitation- "feature" over the years in wrestling games.

Agreed. I don’t like wrestler Ratings in games at all. I always thought that the skill level should be determined by the skill level of the player and how they use the character. When you have ratings for example like Kenny omega might be a 99. You’ll find most Will pick him over a 80 rated wrestler just because their stats are boosted. It’s like in other sports games where a team wins a championship, they’re rated 99 and everyone wants to pick them. I hope AEW avoids that pitfall.

@@SKOTxFREE I feel like that only makes sense for wrestling games to not have because it is scripted and these wrestlers are only limited by writing and their own charisma. However, ratings are fine when it comes to other sports. For instance, if Eli Apple cannot cover Cooper Kupp in real life, I don’t want to see him keeping up man-to-man in a game. Another example, certain people have strong chins in UFC. I would be unhappy if they were to be knocked out like others with weak chins in a game.

Would love if this was the roster. Only stuff here that I don't see happening is almost half of the retro category and about a quarter of the alumni section. Also hesitant to believe any ROH talent will be included unless it's just retro attires for people known for their time over in ROH.
But you do know Tony Khan the guy that owns Aew, now owns ROH and all it's licensing now right? So it is actually quite possible now

Might not be like this day one of the game's release but I'm sure they'll add more to their roster over time and DLC will play a major role considering independent talent who wants to be in the game can get a large percentage of that revenue
@@tynizzleforshizzle5006 The majority of AAA games DLC are planned in advance. AEWs game would be no different. They also wouldn't release 45 DLC stars. That's the roster of a small wrestling game all on its own, my man.
You also brought up a good point at the end there without noticing it: royalties. Some of the people included in that list would have to relieve royalties to feature, which takes out from the developers themselves, usually meaning they wouldn't be included. No game developer would willingly include non-contracted people the majority don't care about at the expense of their own funding.

Also you pretend like games in other companies like GTA, amd Destiny, haven't dropped a million DLCs. Its a new age and Tony has a lot of money and very smart, and very geeky as well 💯 If he wanted to he could easily add a preorder bonus pass, that guarentees all the incoming DLC. Like a Battle pass/Season's pass type deal for one price 💯 The wrestling industry is changing Tony doesn't want a WWE ripoff game he wants something unique, Innovative, and immaculate. If he pulls through with full access to his roster and contracted wrestlers, It will be the best wrestling game of the pass decade 💯

I think with moxly, Jerry Lynn, Tazz, the Briscoe Brothers, the hardy boys, Tommy dreamer, Darby Allen and nick fucking gage they need to put a lot of time into extreme match types. Barbed wire, ladders, tables, fire, thumb tacks, trash cans, baseball bats, kendo sticks, the whole deal

It's been reported that Kenny Omega isn't happy with the progression of the game. They expected it to be out by the end of the year. They have also said that this is a one-off deal with Yukes.

I've said it since day it was announced.. AEW should have teamed up with Fire Pro Wrestling and NJPW then got NWA, AAA, Impact, and (an at the time separately owned) ROH involved with legacy characters and modern characters from each company that game could have been the greatest wrestling game of all time.
yeah but, and i mean no disrespect to Fire Pro players... it's not really a ... "Fun" Game.
it's fun for wrestling management and it's a very good simulator of the stuff that goes on in ring, but it doesn't really have the same fun factor as a HCTP or a No Mercy, and doesn't even equal 2k in terms of how good of a sim it is. not every match is a Hour Long Tokyo Dome Banger.
@@bulletchains8205 Not every match in Fire Pro is long either. I've had 3-4min matches and that's with the accelerated clock. Also none of the current wrestling games are HCTP or No Mercy either. The 2K games are fun, but let's be honest they're also a buggy, broken, mess. Aside from graphics, there's nothing 2K does that Fire Pro doesn't do just as well. If they added some custom titles, customizable arenas, and allowed you to interact more with your competitors then Fire Promoter would absolutely ruin Universe Mode as a promoter simulation. The story mode for NJPW was kind of a let down, but as a wrestling game and as a simulator 2K has nothing on Fire Pro. The gameplay itself is debatable especially with the bland arcade War Zone style controls in 2K22. It almost felt like 2K was trying to do what Fire Pro was already doing in terms of pacing. Let's be honest if you take away the neat graphics, what does 2K do that Fire Pro doesn't do just as well or better?
@@squarepickle i agree with you, but i really think that limiting ourselves to Fire Pro, when AEW probably wants a game with a gameplay style that can reach a more mainstream, especially given the success that 2K had at launch, and with the fact that the storymodes a lot of people played nobody gave a fuck about the modern "stars" like Madcap Moses or Dwayne's Untalnted, Useless, Undeserving of the spotlight Cousins. but people were into the graphics and they kinda liked some of the pacing and the creation suite. all AEW has to do is slightly match that creation suite as well as have a vast pool of moves, and a good enough package of story and sim content at launch to entice people to get the game Day 1. and AEW is gonna probably go the "Live Service" route except it's gonna be for longer then a year, it's gonna be like probably for 2 or 3.

For AEW super fans this game will be the greatest of all time but for the gaming community it'll be just another game which means it probably won't sell that much unless you have AEW scalpers buying multiple copies. The one benefit WWE has over AEW in video games terms is they are under the umbrella of 2K. Everyone in the gaming world know 2K and NBA 2K has a HUGE community. More than the people that watch Rampage. I've seen several videos of CZcamsrs playing WWE 2K22 that seem to don't know shit about the current WWE. I doubt those same CZcamsrs will stream this AEW game

If this game actually has ALL of the wrestlers on here......especially the Legends roster (OWEN HART!) then I'll be throwing my money at AEW faster than a snowball melts in hell!!! The gameplay definitely looks to have a ton of aspects from WWE Smackdown HCTP and WCW/NWO Revenge and that makes me feel a thousand times more excited about this game than I already was!!! GIVE US A RELEASE DATE AND I WILL PRE-ORDER AEW FIGHT FOREVER IMMEDIATELY!!!

Most of them look absolutely amazing, but there's a small few that leave me wanting more, like Jack Evans and Serena Deeb for example. Their faces just seem... off.
Aside from that, I noticed a few typos also. In the Retro/Legends category, you spelled Paul Wight as "Pauk Wright", Sonjay Dutt was missing a "y," and the Alumini category should be spelled "Alumni."
