Does it work with xlr cables or only quarter inch???
@@weissomar 1/4" as those are used for LINE LEVEL audio.
Your video has answered one of my questions. Thanks a bunch

Excellent tutorial.
I appreciate that. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Thank you, at first I was bummed the RP2 didn't have a dedicated 3.5mm input like the first gen (still am) but I'm happy there's a replacement way

thank you so much. i had some problems with the rode pr2 and ps5. i build a setup where i wanted only one mixer for everything and i love to control the audio on the faders. ps5 and recognise the rode pro 2 as a usb sound card which is fine by me but after some minutes it makes a noise (not ground loop) which even at the rode support centre can‘t tell me what it is.
This way works just fine by me now
great job dude

Great video I successfully connected my DDJ flx6 pioneer controller. How do I now connect my jbl 710 external speakers to this setup to get the sound coming out of speakers. I cannot figure it out
Great video , simple and to the point ! Refreshing ! So many annoying youtubers out there with inflated videos… hope peeps show support and use your affiliate links.
I appreciate the good vibes and support. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
@@DoubtMeTechis there any way of hooking up Hercules Dj air control with the usb output to work with the rode caster pro 2?
Thanks for this. I'm trying to get an easy way to understand this. I'm connecting speakers that are analog powered Rocket 5's, So any help is appreciated.
I've been trying to find answers about headphone splitter function with the rodecaster pro 2. I want my pre-cue to play in my head phones. right now I am only about to play it through the computer. Which splitter would I need for the rodecaster and my headphones which are connected to the rodecaster as well? Not sure if you have any info LOL
Good Stuff Nice Video

If I wanted to use this method for Instagram Lives, would I get the same quality? Also, the TSSR cord has to have 2 cables as well?
I know this video is over a year old, so I'm not confident you'll reply, but
I've just bought a Schiit stack, Magni Unity, Modi and Loki Mini+
Would the example you used in this video work with that stack? I'm trying to find an option to retain my XLR mic with the audio stack
wow thx man)

What if I record from the RCP2 into my phone video, coming from my instrument which will be a Maschine drum machine
thank you

I"m trying to plug my alai mini play 3 into my rodecaster pro 2 but it's like got a LOT of noise and a weird panning warp
Quick question, I'm not sure if it's been asked by anybody else. Would connecting an RCA (From the DAC) to a single TS (Rear of RoderCaster Duo) Y Cable work? I currently have my microphone occupying the first XLR/TRS Input.
Great post, very helpful. I notice that if you turn on processing on a line input stereo paired channel (eg Compressor) the input goes mono and pumps every couple of seconds. Is processing incompatible with line level and/or stereo pairs? Thank you.
Using any type of processing will change the quality of the source audio. So depending on your audio source, I would turn processing off unless you're going for a certain effect and know what you're doing.
Great Review, Thanks from Belgium
I like the fact that you talk exactly about what your title is, without a lot of other BS.
I greatly appreciate that. Thank you 🙏🙏
Hello. I have purchased a rodecaster pro DUO. It only has two jacks. I want to connect to it a casio PX S1100 piano, which has two line outputs (L/R). But the problem is that I need one jack on the rodecaster for the microphone. Will I be able to connect the piano into one jack using a 2 mono to 1 stereo cable. Will there be a stereo pair?
If you do what you asked, you will have a summed up mono signal coming into the line input
Very useful video. Thank you. I have a Yamaha dgx-660 digital piano (1/4 inch TS TO dual 1/4 inch TS) .
After combining input 2+3 like the way you showed in your video and plug them
into 2 (black) & 3 (red) at combo jacks at back of RCP2, is it correct to play piano with both hands (LH at lower end and RH at upper end of piano) and play as loud as I can, so sounds is in the 'middle' of the green area?
Or
Do these separately by panning left (play loudly on LEFT lower end of piano) and panning RIGHT) then re assigned 2+3 combo into 1 fader?
Hope I can explain clearly. English is not my 1st language and I am beginner in my audio learning journey.
If you could please do a short tutorial on this, that would be wonderful.
Thank you.
Also I am confuse about when I put faders at unity level (I did use the wizard) and when I saw RCP2 videos on CZcams. They put faders right at the bottom to start?
Also how can I control the faders as VOLUME control for audience during livestream? How can I balance sound between my vocal mic (shure BETA 57A Dynamic bogan mic) and piano? So confuse trying to work these out
I have a RodecasterPro1-- and I don't think that cabability of the 3.5 line in is possible? I think those are only for mics?
You are correct. However the Rodecaster Pro 1 does have a 3.5mm input, so you can use a 1/4" Y cable to 3.5mm TRS.
Can you them connect the Rodecaster pro 2 to a laptop via USB to work with OBS or Ecam live?
Yes you can. It's really simple actually. There are 2 usb ports on the back and both will work
This is exactly what I was looking for. I take it that I can connect my DAC to it by doing the method you described, correct?
If it has a line level out, then yes
@@DoubtMeTech, tried this and it works flawlessly with my Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC, thank you!
@@CrazyJGaming_ Happy to help. Thanks for watching
what about for the Rodecaster Duo? Is that the same thing?
Yes it's the same 🙏🙏
what about a rca to headphone jack cable?
Use RCA to 1/4" jacks
Whenever you make a stereo pair it automatically makes the connected channel pair Line-in. At least it does on my firmware version.
Why would you want stereo mic level as a pair?
Perhaps I worded my comment wrong. Whenever I plug in two 1/4 jacks (say in channels 3 and 4), and make them stereo, the RCP2 automatically makes them Line-in when they are joined. I don’t have to “manually” set them as Line-in beforehand.
I need that + 4 mics though !!
Option 1: get the cable I showed but run the 1/4 jacks out of the dj mixer, run the 3.5mm to a Bluetooth receiver that has a 3.5mm input. They sell for like $20 on Amazon. Connect the Bluetooth receiver to the Rodecaster and your dj audio will now be on the Bluetooth input, so all your mic inputs will still be available.
Option 2: if your Dj mixer can run audio into a computer, then hook up the computer to a USB input on the Rodecaster and have the dj audio come through the computer into the Rodecaster
@@DoubtMeTech bluetooth has latency but it would work, computer method would probably be better quality might require another device and some configuration ~ thanks
So doing the same thing but using XLRs wouldn't work?
Xlrs are mic level. Line level is for the 1/4 jacks. So if you have a device that outputs line level XLR, then you'll need xlr to 1/4 cables to run the 1/4 into the Rodecaster
Actually, XLR to XLR also works at Line Level.
Yes XLR to XLR cables can work for mic or line level, but the line level input on the Rodecaster Pro II only works with the 1/4 jack. The XLR on the Rodecaster Pro II only does mic level.
@@DoubtMeTech "but the line level input on the Rodecaster Pro II only works with the 1/4 jack. The XLR on the Rodecaster Pro II only does mic level."
I guess this is only for the RP2.
👍🏾
🙏🙏
this feels like the weakest part of the Rodecaster pro 2/duo, why no analog inputs? ppl still use them.
I agree
