death doom is one of the coolest genres in metal
This is not Death Doom, it is Blackened Doom Death or Doom Death. Death Doom is the subgenre created by Paradise Lost and has nothing to do with the Death Metal bands that used the Sabbath dark touch that were born in the mid-80's in Holland.

Obviously I know that Krypts are from Finland, but their style is more influenced by what I just mentioned about the first Dutch-born DOOM DEATH bands (Asphyx, Sempiternal Deathreign, Delirium, etc) + some american bands like Obituary and Morbid Angel.
So is blackened thrash 🤘🏼

Every time I'm listening to this album, I'm increasingly convinced that this genre should be named "cosmic horror metal". It perfectly describes H. P. Lovecraft's view of the universe: dark, unknowable, vast beyond any recognition, unfeeling and monstrous.

The best part about this album (besides being a badass overall), is that the most atmospheric track is the title one (imo), AND happens to be less than 4 minutes long. Which really shows that not every song needs to be incredibly long in order to convey the atmosphere of doom and despair.
This is sick I just came from listening to Blood Incantation, I like how there's just like a lot of cool bands out now like this. Spectral Voice, Tomb Mold, Ulthar, Grave Miasma, even Triumvir Foul, super good stuff!

Disembowlment is the originators of this sound. Love this style and hearing new bands like this is so good.

The Withering Titan is the best song on the album. Really paints a picture in your mind. Incredibly atmospheric and groovy at the same time.

That’s a blast from the past! I remember loudly playing it whilst waiting at a local bus station as an angst ridden angry teen many years ago. Plus the bass player grew up in the house a few doors down from me. 👍🏻

You are right they are known for Death Metal but they have put out a lot of black metal and doom albums as well. For example Crypt Sermon, Tyranny, Anguish on the doom side and Bestia Arcana, Thantifaxath, craven idol, Nox Formulae, Sheidim, Begrime Exemious, invincible force on the black metal side.
I'm so excited for that new Thantifaxath release in a few weeks! Dark Descent is an amazing label, no doubts.

Robert Pappaterra I'm from Portugal and I order from Dark Descent all the time. They now have DHL shipping which is a lot cheaper for us Europeans. But if you want, there are other labels/stores from Europe that usually carry Dark Descent titles. Some of those distros are Everlasting Spew (Italy), Osmose Productions (France), Amor Fati, Iron Bonehead, etc. Last resort, you could always use Amazon from Germany or something

I absolutely love the later half of the title track but am also slightly disappointed by it every time I here that epic drum beat kick in over the gloomy guitars I feel like it’s building up to something but only for it to fade away shortly afterwards, album is still incredible
