I used to listen to this with my friend in High School in 1976. We would go to his house eat lunch and then sit in chairs and listen with our eyes closed. I'm there now.
I used to bump into Lonnie Liston Smith all the time while in college at VCU. He was extremely humble and down to earth. By his own words he wrote this the 1st time he played a Fender Rhodes. As fate would have it I ended up getting a Fender Rhodes not too long after meeting him for $100 from a garage sale. The hammers were pristine. The guy didn't know what he had.
lonnie is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists to play when I'm just chilling out late at night. This music is just so perfect to me. I especially love all his early to mid 70s albums
I'm just chilling with him tonight. What I like about him is that all his cuts have a distinctive sound. There are no two sounding the same. I love that about his music... He's pure genius, masterpieces is what he has left for this generation of jazz lovers.
Happy 82nd birthday to Lonnie Liston Smith, a true living Jazz legend who played with some of the greats like Pharoah Sanders and Miles Davis before forming Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes

I know what you mean. But what about the tines and tonebars? No corrosion? What year? Wooden or plastic keys? What about the keydip? Damper felts?
Remember when i was young . . Faboulosus years
I have always enjoyed his particular sax tone. It is very honest, earth-connected, approachable, and spiritually peaceful.
I enjoy smaller comment sections. It's prime digital space.
