PSA: Do NOT Preorder this game, Ubisoft cannot and SHOULD NOT be trusted. Let the game come out and we will see for our selves if it is worth any money or attention!
Just wait a month and get it for 33% off. Or a year and a half and 75% off.
@@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire I've even been doing that with Ubisoft games that look really good (like the recent Prince of Persia game). But that's partially due to the existing backlog I am working through and I know it'll be on a good sale before too long.
Absolutely
Not a singular Ubisoft or EA game is worth pre-ordering, even if they somehow end up being decent.
There's absolutely no reason to preorder a game. You'll get it when it comes out anyways and haven't heard of it was made well yet
Whatever pays the bills
I'd rather see sponsors that won't create a conflict of interest. Some of the more generalist ads on youtube are very scummy (gambling, fake online therapy, etc.) but plenty of others are fine for what they are.
Or heck, at the very least give the people a more standard video with fun content. All of these sterile marketing videos do more damage than excitement to both the sponsor and the video creator, at least in my case.
Especially nowadays...
@@leonroyeah I don't mind the sponsor videos in general but this one in particular gets me because it's Ubisoft, a company who actively goes against game preservation and is getting a lawsuit over their destructive actions
I'm just happy with "did you know gaming" is getting support so I don't have to join one of those stupid CZcams club membership
Also because it's not just a sponsored video, it's an 8 minute long ad
Did you know you can't play this single player game without internet
If that's true then I'm definitely out, the gameplay shown so far looks fun but after they announced a season pass, pre-order DLC, early access, and a subscription option I've lost all confidence in it being good. Nobody ever seems to put that much effort into wringing cash out of every facet if the game's actually well-made
Aw hell no, that’s a deal breaker from me instantly
Now THAT is useful information.
@@ethanbuckley1942 its amazing they didnt mention all that in this video, it's almost as if it is commonly known those are BAD things to advertize, especially on a game that isnt even out yet. "Oh we havnt even released the game but we are already telling you it isnt complete"
Oh… well then fuck this game. I’m not buying it then.
Not pre ordering, no interest, fuck Ubisoft. Hope this video keeps the lights on

They do
This isn't a dykg video, it's just a ad video where nothing new heard or seen
They've really started to dissolve as a channel.. In the good ol days, they'd have several different formatted videos throughout a couple of weeks.. But now, we maybe get a new video once a month or so, and they've been stuff like this (Jagged Alliance 3).. They've started re-re-uploading the same hour longs with different names, too.. Oh, and a card game no one asked for..
What's even more bizarre is that they made a video a year or so ago, talking about becoming more involved and thorough with their videos moving forward, but the fruits of that have been very few.. I'm not sure what happened or what's going on with them, but hopefully we're not witnessing the death of the channel slowly creeping in...
and your point it?
i still waiting on a video on live-a live and your the only one that complaining newbie!
@@RevrenD23it will happen.
@@RevrenD23 nah i think they are just making a video to get some money to spent on some unreleased stuff, they have done that before, also the older videos from DYKG suck big time, they are trying to change that, but if you know something about games preservation you know that shit isnt cheap! so tl:dr they are shilling but for a good cause i guess
@@eunaoseibrother467 "The older videos from DYKG suck big time" Welp, that went ahead and invalidates anything else you said, have a good day believing you know anything about games, especially preservation.. You familiar with the term "Pearls before swine"?

Recently they said something about how they apologized for the poor quality of videos 11 years ago. But I think this is on the same level or worse than that.

I understand why DYKG does sponsored videos, but at least the other ones had some kind of personality... About half way through I realized that there's no sprite border and quotes aren't being shown on screen.
Yeah. The other ones weren't bad. The jagged alliance one was actually pretty neat bts.
This one though. It sounds like Ubisoft gave them a script full of marketing buzzwords and told them to stick to it. Lame.
Never pre-ordering a game again
💯 this
Only from trusted companies. I only have three that I have enough confidence in to pre-order.

Just because you paid one of my favorite channels for this 8 minute ad, doesn't mean I'm buying this.
Bruh the game ain’t even out
Needless to say the game will be out on august 30 2024

Yeah, but did you know
This channel is basically dead and has been for years. They took a sponsor to pay this month's electricity bill, I bet.

Big oof
Preorders have started, so no, the game's already made more money
Hey,isn't this is the game that community manager harassed one of the player demographic?
So is this just an 8 minute ad????
And the money they make from it they donate 10k to a charity or organization related to gaming
@@acmiguensthat charity’s name is their wallet
@@Pat4ever. They have given me no reason not to believe them.
Also, if you don't trust them about that, why would you trust them about anything else? From your viewpoint, they could be making stuff up and we'd be none the wiser. At that point, why would you waste your time watching their videos?
@@acmiguens I do not trust them farther than I can throw them and I didn't waste my time watching this video, I unsubbed. Enjoy eating up blatant advertising on your own time.
You know the game will suck when they push the ads this hard.
Sorry I've been informed by the developer that this game is not for me
Guys I understand y'all take ads/sponsors to help fund preservation... But this isn't even content in line with what you make. It's literally just an 8 minute ad. No trivia, new info, nothing.
Ubisoft money is good money, and this game looks legitimately good. I'll allow it.
@@ChromeColossusagree, if you dont like ads skip video. Not everything is about you.
@@Cobxcorn That's just rude. If everyone's favorite CZcams channels started churning out lazy content rather than high quality videos, of course anyone would be disappointed. Bravo 👏 the only other adult in the comments section. The gen alpha kids desperately need help learning to close out of a video they don’t like instead of giving engagement lol.
From the video, this game seems basically like "remember this? Remember this? Look, Jabba!"
it's always "did you know?" but never "did you WANT to know?"
From the first 60 seconds it's quite clear this should have been a Doctor Aphra game
Ya know Something cool? I think I had more entertainment walking up the stairs today over... This.
Even if by some divine magic the game comes out good, despite being a Ubisoft game, I don't wanna deal with their shitty launcher and in-game ads.
I didn't want to know gaming
"a place where crime and villainy thrive" oh sweet, Nar Shaddaa? oh tatooine, sure...
Yeah, I know you're gonna get a lot of comments on this one, so I just hope in the future, whenever you take a sponsorship, you're able to keep the DYKG style and writing. Taking a sponsor that overrides your creative control is a much worse look for you than taking one that lets you have the reigns. I hope this isn't a bad sign for the stability of the channel.
This feels a lot more like an advertisement than an actual episode of DYKG.
because it is
Wow they have not shown off the main gameplay loop at all…
There has been a 10 minute gameplay trailer available for a while if you haven't seen that.
This video isn't just sponsored; it's just an ad. Did you guys even write the script for this? There isn't even any trivia, feel like ubisoft PR made this video. Really disappointing.
Stfu, they need the money, keep it moving
ehhhh Yeah, I agree that the format is completely wrong for DYKG as it seems more like PR script with few minute details (and, also, no one could possibly know gaming yet cause the game isn't out). But they're completely up-front about it being sponsored and it still works as background noise, so if they're getting a good paycheck out of it then I'm rather indifferent.
@@Cobxcornno you stfu. If u wanna put an add in a video thats cool. But an entire video add they need to keep it moving. This is garbage we can watch on the ubisoft page if anyone was that stupid.
@@Tukaro Not only a paycheck for themselves, but they always donate to charity when they do these types of sponsored/ad videos.

We absolutely do not need to go back to Tatooine.
I can't wait to lose my access to this game in 10 years time and thank Ubisoft for the wonderful memories of me playing it just like how I lost access to The Crew!
I hope that money is going to a good cause at least
I can already tell this is gonna be a typical ubisoft open world game with fetch quest, checklist, and waypoint vomit all over the screen.
Gotta keep the lights on
I forgot this game was even announced. Did you guys know they made an Avatar game?
Does anyone else find it weird that despite both Avatar movies making a ton of money, absolutely nobody talks about them after a month or two?
@@GlitchManOmega I even really liked the 2nd one. The visuals were great and I was interested in the expanded lore they're setting up. I swear I found the Avatar game by random chance. Feels like it should've been really hyped up or something.
@@GlitchManOmega Avatar movies are basically like fireworks. Pretty to look at and that's it
really hope this doesn't become a trend
Ubisoft told me not to play their games so….
Why do we have to play a human I want to choose a weird ass looking alien
Star Wars Gollum
They wanted to make the main character a hot woman so when it eventually fails due to shitty things like requiring to be attached to the internet, the DLC they already announced and the comoanies shitty reputation they can just cry and whine
"People are not buying our shitty game because they are sexist" and die on that hill instead of admitting they made a shit game
Ads used for the gaming archive or whatever, is one thing... UBISOFT!? Really?
Oh no, Ubisoft payed you guys?!
Did you know this is an ad?
How can you do a DYKG about a new game?
Like.. yeah of course I didn't know, nobody could've known.
I get it's a sponsorship, so no hate to the crew. But why did ubisoft think this was a good idea?
its crazy how so many people gave so many views for something they didnt like instead of the many wonderful videos this channel has that are under 1.7M views
Ubisoft ruins everything they touch.
I smell the microtransactions within you.
It's a good thing the comments section is doing all the work for me.
So it's Beyond Good and Evil 2 with a star wars texture pack and jammed in AC gameplay built on the backs of sexually harassed and crunched staff and likely riddled with microtransactions?
good way to describe pretty much every ubisoft product of the past decade or so.
Ubisoft lol
So this game is similar to Shadows of the Empire, in that you’re playing as a Han Solo clone?
Glad that you guys are visible enough for studios to seek your range. I know that not everyone will be happy with a sponsored video, but I'm sure this helps paying the bills and keep the high quality videos coming, those old magazines and translators work isn't free.
Ah yes, the channel that I'm subscribed to for obscure facts about old games I know and love is gonna tell me about "secrets and easter eggs" in a ubisoft game that isn't even out yet.
GG, hope the ad money is worth the betrayal of your subs.
But I'm straight, white, male, like owning my physical copies, and I love Star Wars, isn't that the opposite of the Audience they're looking for?
I find it convenient that this video pops up at the same time that the story trailer for this game pops up. Synergy!

Question: Given all that Disney did: Shouldn't this game be called Star Wars: Outlores?
This ain't the DYKG I knew
I could smell the sponsor from the title and thumbnail.
Since it takes place between Empire and Jedi, it'd be real cool if there was a reference to Shadows of the Empire, which also had a smuggler protagonist we played as, ship combat, and speeder combat etc.
The irony of so many people hating this video while it also being one of their most watched videos.
Do you feel dirty? DYKG?
No thanks. The toxic developer told me it wasn't for me

Ubisoft? Nope nope nope. Wonder if you have to climb atop a tower to turn off a jammer so your map would open up more lol
Yash"iga clan," eh? The legendary naming conventions persist!
Totally understand doing sponsored content, but I dunno, I hope you guys like, got to play the game and see if it lived up to the hype. Because this ad makes it sound fantastic, and if it turns out to be trash, it could reflect so badly on you.
This sponsor/vid feels… dirty.
Why ? Even tho all the "did you know" peices were essentially from IGN and Game Informer
Ill take 1 sponsored video that I can just ignore if it means it supports their actual endeavors for interesting finds. All about that balance
@@evileye515exactly! This channel has so much content and great videos to complain about one ad..imo people just like to complain about shit they can have an easy virtual signal towards and pre release ad/hype vids are an easy target

I think thiss is their take on that canceled Star Wars 1313 game that LucasArts were going to make. Where you too play as a bounty hunter, but he happens to be BoBa Fett and takes place after Revenge of The Sith.
So it's essentially GTA 2
More behind the scenes stuff in these kinds of sponsored videos is appreciated. Still, anytime I hear you say "Ubisoft", I wanted to say, "No, you be soft."
DYKG really got tempted to join the dark side with this one..
3:18 Luke's speeder design is inspired by Hotrods. i get it, it looks like their universe's version of a space Hotrod.
what i dont get is the space version of a motorbike is literally "a mostly dismantled motorbike". like holy fuck, this
is Star Wars and they could do any fancy, cool looking, retro-esque, spacey design for vehicles, and their best idea was
a mostly dismantled motorbike??? it doesnt look retro, it looks like a base prop for an actor to sit on that they CGI over
it later, but as if they forgot to do the CGI part.
and since its modern Ubisoft, im sure the customization options will all look worse than the base design.
yup, pretty much what i expected once i clicked the video. rock on brothers
Ubisoft: "please shill our game, guys. No one else will"
I really hope this channel doesn’t become corporate stuff ☹️
I don't mind that you're taking sponsorships, but here you're actively promoting a company that is openly against game preservation and is being legally went after because of their actions. I know you might be desperate but PLEASE understand how tone-deaf this is
Look at that specially curated "hashtag relatable" protag and her "I want to sell toys" creature. Can feel that this is no labor of love, just some corporate leads beating the dead horse that is SW.
Beat it harder, it might cough out a bit more blood this time!
But sir, all we're getting is mucus and spit!
BEAT IT HARDER
Sooo, Shadow of the Empire, Disney version? Gotcha.
May, “ someone who doesn’t have all the answer”…… but will become a Mary sue by story’s end.
Did I know? Nope it hasn’t been released yet
of all companies they gave UBISOFT the open world SW game?? oh god here we go again with climbing some sort of tower to fill the map and litter it with a crapload of icons for chores to do
I'm wary of anything Ubisoft does, but honestly if this is even half as good as it sounds, it'll still be way better than most of the Disney-era Star Wars stuff (especially the Disney+ shows, save Mandolorian and Andor). I'll keep a cautious eye on this.
As they say in Ubisoft. This game wasn't made for me
