    I have to say, and I rarely post this kind of stuff….but I have a 2013 Prius C. I bought it because with my job I drive a lot. I have NOT had ONE problem with it. Because there is that brake assist thing on the gear shift, I still have yet to change my brake pads! It rides comfortable, and I really don’t know what you are talking about with the “seat issues” you had with the car. Sure there’s some road noise but all of my friends and family have grown to actually like the car. Again, it’s so easy to drive and maneuver. All my kids learned to drive on it. The power isn’t great at all, but you don’t buy a Prius to do zero to 60 sprints. It gets on the freeway with no problem, and I’m not afraid to floor it, because you have to in most cases. They say the zero to 30 is normal for a car, and that’s what you need around town to get around a slow driver or make a quick lane change. It’s like a video game sometimes when I’m driving around town to see how high I can get the mileage. I’ve gotten as high as 60 miles to the gallon in the city and 47 on the highways. I bought the car for under 23K brand new and I knew going into this that the car would be slow and maybe a cheap build but it’s turned out to be a joy to own with no problems. I watch my friends complain about putting over $150 in their tanks and I just chuckle. Anyway, that’s just my opinion really. Funny video though.

      I too love our 2016 prius c. Had it 5 1/2 years and saved over $6000 in petrol from having a mazda 3 over this time period. And the speed is plenty fast for street or highway driving. Honestly 8 seconds to reach any kind of speed makes no difference for safe drivers who dont wish to kill themselves or other drivers.

    Hi I couldn't disagree more with. 70 MPH? are you kidding ? try 100 MPH on straight road. I own trim 3 2012 with almost 300K miles on it. I bought this car over 10 years ago to replace my tacoma 4x4 truck to make long distance kitesurfing trips. On average each trip is around 700 miles round way. while seats are not best for sleeping over night, but yes I have done it. I can assure you I have used this car as truck more than my old Tacoma truck, I literally build porch, deck, and put up over 500 feet fence and even gone night clubbing with it, as well as moved content of entire house from Knoxville to Atlanta in multiple trips of course. I cant wait for this thing to break so I can buy Tesla or EV Volkswagen bus when it comes out. Who knows maybe I got lucky and got a good one or maybe the new models are not as zippy as the old ones. As a joke I nick named my car Hummer :) anyways, cheers, I just wanted to share with you my experience driving this beaut for past 10 years. I have a 2019 Prius C, purchased in 2018. My daily commute is a round trip from sea level to 400 feet+ above sea level over an 8 mile distance, 5 times a week. I live on an island in Hawaii where gas, as of 04/21/2022, is at 6.00/gal. I get 47 mpg+; a full tank of gas is just less than 10 gallons. I regularly get 400 miles with more than an eighth left before each fill in. I have an 8' 6" surfboard that fits perfectly with the passenger seat down. I've also used it to carry items as big as a PA system (EV Evolve 30m). I've also used it on the Oahu freeways - no problem going 70+. It's not a 60's or 70's muscle car (I once had a 1970 302ci Chevelle coup - a classic V8 flexer), but it's the perfect transportation for the times and my needs.

    I've owned a Prius C since 2018 and I love it! It's reliable, affordable, and gets good gas mileage.
    The only downsides I can think of are the seat design & the black interior that tends to show dust & it has a texture that is challenging to clean. I just use a pillow for extra support for the seat. This is still a purchase that I'm very happy with.

    I’m currently driving 2013 Prius Four and love it. I wouldn’t mind at all downgrading in the future to Prius C. My main concern is to save gas money. I had a pick up truck and minivan that used to drink gas till they got drunk. For $5 a gallon, I’d spend $63 to fill up my minivan tank after driving it only 212 miles, and over $100 to fill up my pick up. Of course driving a pick up and minivan is a lot comfortable than driving a Prius. But I forced myself to get used to a smaller vehicle. Once you get used to driving big vehicles, it becomes almost impossible to drive a smaller one. But I was like, why don’t I get a Prius and use the gas money I saved to pay down my credit card bills, or treat myself once a month to a decent meal in a fancy restaurant, especially that I put a serious amount of mileages on my car. Let’s say 6,000 miles a month. Totally worth it.

Also Prius in general last at least 500,000 miles so I'd rather have that than a car that'll only last me maybe 200,000. They've been using the same cabs in my town since they started the company and they're all Prius(s?). I own a 2015 Prius C and the gas savings I've had is great compared to my last three vehicles. As for road noise, I listen to my music loud, so I don't get distracted by road noise. Power isn't great but one going into a Prius-C should know this and know they can turn off eco mode if they wanted to. My only caveat is the roof molding which has to be replaced and for most people, the car battery is not the easiest to replace (thank goodness for AAA) to have the car towed to the dealership but it did last me a good six years before I needed to have it replaced. But if anything, I am loving the gas savings and not having to spend nearly $200 a month on gas anymore since I got this car is great. And yes, I also ride a bike.

    While I agree with you about bikes being better, I really wish we would all get over the "hybrids are worse" stuff. It's been studied many times, there is a breakeven point in terms of mileage where hybrids become worth it, and given Prius' are Toyotas they're almost certain to reach that number. I think they're a good used buy, though not so much new anymore with EVs being so much more efficient. Bikes truly are the ideal, but at least for now not very realistic with America's "Car First" mentality that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon.... or even better, trains and subways ;)

And did they do it with the Prius C, or does that person just drive one? Either way, I can see you're hurting, and I hope you find the healing you need. If you somehow find yourself forced to drive a Prius C again, try dropping in to the B gear on acceleration, controlled maneuvering, and anywhere engine braking feels right. Does it make a huge difference? No. No, not much. Does it help a little, though? Sure. Why not? If nothing else, the act of shifting has a sporty placebo affect. You may not end up liking the car anymore than you already don't, but you probably won't back slide into a full relapse of your Prius C anguish, once the nightmare ends. God speed solider.

Only one original owner and I know them. $30 to fill a full tank and last 2.5 weeks with long commutes is a win for me. Road trips are the best. Thanks for making entertaining videos. However, your facts are suspect about the Prius 'C". I get 52 mixed driving summer, 48 in our cold winters, significantly better than the 40 you mention, and without being light-footed.. The seats are fine, and my back isn't what it once was. It's very spacious inside for the size and weight. I notice no unusual road noise. Consumer Reports mentions Prius 'C' as way better than its poorly made sub-compact competitors. Very competent ride for a small car. Had it a year and several times already have found "leftover" street parking between larger cars that no one else can fit into, saving pay lot fees. It corners / handles just fine. Slow acceleration is something I've easily learned to mitigate when getting on expressways. Cruises at 75 with no effort. No idea where you got that info from. BTW, you're even wrong about the turning radius, which you identify as good. Not sure why, but it is actually mediocre compared to some cars / small SUV's I've owned. Overrating turning radius doesn't make up for all the stuff you underrated. Your precious metal stuff, well, no expert here, and you may be right, you may be wrong. Plenty of cell phones in the world, last time I checked, many more than Hybrid Toyotas. Don't all newer cars use them? You sound like you work for Big Oil. I expect to save on maintenance, based on folks claiming 200 -300 K easily. Go get a fast and expensive Audi, and watch out after your warranty is up. Thousands per year, no exaggeration. Price an engine rebuild for those cars.

    I bought a 2014- 17,200 out the door replacing a car that averaged 25mpg. The gas savings made the car payment. It is the best car buy I ever made. It is not close to my favorite car because it sucks on longer drives but for what it can do it is close to as good as it can get. It they continued selling it with a lithium pack and the ability to go further on battery alone at say 55 before it shut off maybe 30 miles I would say it would then be a perfect commuter car. I've averaged 52mpg since new.

    I originally purchased my 2015 Prius C through the Uber car lease/purchase program in Dec 2015. I am one of only 10 people out of the entire program that successfully purchased the car out right after leasing it for 3 years straight. I got $7,000 in rebates, which brought the car down to $18k. Originally, I drove this car part time to pay for the lease payments only. For one full year, I drove for Uber full-time while I was transitioning from one job to another and stopped Ubering on News Eve in 2019. Only a handful of rideshare passengers ever complained about the comfort (people over 6'4"). As the owner/driver, I felt very comfortable driving this car around the streets of the Los Angeles area. Had it been any bigger, I would have been in several accidents. As far as reliability, I never needed to do more than change the oil and tires. In 2022, I changed the interior battery and I still have the original hybrid battery. Comfort wise, I've literally driven 12 hour shifts multiple days a week. When I moved to Texas, I drove it for 1,400 miles and 21 hours with one 4 hour break. It never got uncomfortable. As far as speed, I beat everyone off the line at a stop any day of the week, except for a Tesla...of course. I dont even attempt to beat them. As far as top speed. There's no need to take this car above 90mph. That's just asking for a battery fire. My only issue is wishing there was more trunk space. I always had issues picking up passengers at LAX with 2 large rectangle suitcases. Everyone from China always owned those bags. It's 2023 and I'm on my 8th year owning this car and I'm about to replace the hybrid battery, which is currently at 68% capacity and it still averages 45 miles per gallon. Not bad considering this review is coming from a hater just looking to do a bad review for the hell of it. Whatever

    @badboyblue9675 Před 2 lety +2

    this car is not going to carve up mountain roads like a 911 it is not going to be a contender at the stop lights for fastest to the next light but there is a relaxed charm about it. It handles quite well and has pretty good pick up for most situs. Yes going up to tahoe you have to treat it like a truck and be in the slow lane when going uphill.
    I drive a lot of different cars and I like driving my wifes Prius C. She doesnt, she wants an audi, but I like it. Its a great little car that saves gas, is comfortable even after a few hours in the drivers seat and is actually kinda fun to drive. It does the highways all day long between 70 to 80 mph and can even reach 90 mph easily. It can drive highway 1 with its curves and handles them well without getting you car sick and is actually pretty nice. Relaxed, gas saving drive thats what this car is. Yes I want a 911 instead but this car is a fraction of the price.

    I don’t know why peeps would buy a car if conservation is what they have in mind. Main reason I got my 2012 Prius C was because of the gas mileage as I drive a lot in the city. Been driving the car for 8 years now and the gas mileage is just as good as when I got it.
    I will however be replacing it soon for a Volt since the Prius C I got didn’t come with good features for road tripping such as cruise control. Also, now that I’m seeing more and more charging bays pop up in my city I hope that I’ll be using the full electric function on the Volt.

    I have the original c. The 2012. I bought it in 2019 with 50k on the odometer. Only problem I’ve had so far is the AC compressor. Since I’ve had it replaced I haven’t had any complaints. That being said, the car isn’t all the comfortable. After about an hour I have to stop and get out. And it really is lacking in power considering how light it is. The steering wheel is too small. And the space between the gas and brake pedals is too small. I sometimes hit both on accident. Now my commute to work is only 15 minutes. So I don’t drive very often, so as a daily driver on short commutes and city driving it’s perfect. However, long commutes and long road trips across state lines. You’re better of with a Camry.
