  • Howdy everyone, back with another gameplay video of a game called "Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis"! I will be showcasing a new Major Target Suppression Quest just released today's maintenance as of uploading this video. The quest is called Sign of the Planetbreaker [Rank 2], the boss being Malignant Dark Falz Solus, BP requiring of at least 4,200 BP to enter.
So yeah, today's maintenance introduced Dark Falz Solus fight again, but a remix introducing new move sets, updated current endgame content, and a remix banger of the BGM for this fight! This run was recorded after a couple of reset attempts with my small group of fellow comrades. Finale phase for this run was honestly all of us first time attempts. Besides that, looking forward in doing more of these runs, BGM never fails to disappoint. My current gear as of this video is full BiS gear with Wingard Fatale 4 minus the Ex Augs., 4295 BP. Rest of the description is just new attack pattern comparison, so ignore if you want to from here on out.
So in comparison to the first released version of the Solus fight for phase 1, there are a couple or so new attack patterns to watch out. While the moves do seem to attack slightly quicker than before, be wary about lots more missles will be targeting the area and be wary of the full hand sweep and clap attack as it might probably catch you off guard at one point and be dead in possibly one hit if not geared enough. The hand slam AoE attack was once previously before, now it does two consecutive hand slams. The beam corridor attack is no longer avoidable and should be moved out of the way to not get hit. The transition DPS check phase has certainly changed a tiny bit. Compared to the previous version, the tiles to climb up to destroy the two yellow glowing things is much smaller requiring you to be more careful about platforming to get to it otherwise you'll slowly cripple and die if you fall on the floor with the rising "lava" flowing upwards. Previously you could avoid the massive AoE attack if you fail the DPS check during the transition, but now, the huge AoE window shoots up farther up the ceiling to the point where everyone will certainly die now. The only way to survive this is by wasting a Photon Blast for full immunity during the AoE explosion.
Phase 2, oh boy, a lot of different updated attack patterns and a couple of new ones as well. The first part of the second phase unique attack is pretty much scripted to happen every time you get here so should be relatively easy to pick up. The new walls attack (something like Gemini's wall attack back in PSO2 Base), I think spawns at the center, parallel to the boss (not sure about the parallel part since I haven't ran much yet), do not be at the center of the line, otherwise you probably will be stuck and die instantly. Try to be near the center while running away the direction the wall is heading to you while avoidng the purple shock spheres because hitting one or so will cause you to be stunned. The updated hole in the wall sequence, well, the holes are much shorter to go through than the previous fight. Just be careful traversing it, otherwise should be fine. Another updated attack is the staff attack. For this sequence, the area is forcing you to be on ground only because if you jump past the line barrier you see at the corner of the map, you will take a massive hit of damage otherwise you'll be killed soon enough. The tower sequence where Solus will throw lots of debris moving rapidly around the arena, the updated version is pretty much the same but faster and it can try to trick you of not going to the same spot it started for the unavoidable beam attack (just hide behind tower structure and should be fine). A couple of more similar attack patterns to previous fight, just a lot more objects/more attacks thrown at you, pretty much.
Phase 3, the finale phase. It's almost similar to the previous version, but instead, you'll have to deal with the hole in the wall sequence every once a often or so while destroying the remaining pods. Lastly, the last stand, where the boss will emit a big AoE explosion every so often quickly. I assume it probably would be an instakill here if anyone gets hit besides having mitigation weapon gearing and such. Other than that, that's pretty much it.
