I'm pretty sure that boat is there intentionally for the Peryite quest. There's a chest in the water that always seems to have the ingots.

I just started a spell/staff & shield battle mage playthrough. This will come in handy. I think spellbreaker and Auri-el’s shield would be fun to use here

The paragon reader is much easier to get to because there is a shrine just behind it.

Probably the oddest way to find that ruby was,I hit the mine at Lakeview to see if it was back and got both iron and the ruby.Shields don't get much love in this game with everyone sneak archering everybody.Spellbreaker is useful for every build though.I never heard of the Rune Shield.I'll have to try for it.

Always have bin og sword a sheild og ,but wind shear does both staggers a slash
