Mine is coming tomorrow! This is a HUGE upgrade for me, since my current model is still the BP110 Power (which I honestly never liked compared to my first processor, the BP100, and rarely used it for my SSD). My insurance company fought against the upgrade for almost 6 months, and I am finally getting it tomorrow! This is a great video; I will remember to be patient with the transition and communicate clearly with my audiologist so we can make adjustments as needed.

i’ve had them since March, same issues as yours… Finally tried again to do the sound adjustment and did realize that (duh) my hearing is very different from each ear. so i did what i could, still trying to figure out how to adjust the treble and bass, but yes much better WHEN THEY DONT cut out or off loud noises that I WANT TO HEAR ! thanks again for your video i was really ready to give up.

Thank you so much for all the great info. I'm getting my first bone conducting processor the Baha 6 . Born with one functioning good left ear and a full functioning ear drum on the right with bone closed opening. I am 57.I went in to check some tinnitus issues and found I had better hearing in my closed ear verses my open one. It was 98 % on right and 72 on left. Knowing I could do this brought tears to my eyes to be able to hear stereo and conversations clearly for the first time in my life. Thank you again!

From where I previously lived, the audiologists kept telling me that I qualify for a CI, but I stayed with my HAs for a while longer. When my HAs no longer worked for me, I wanted the CI and they all started telling me that I do not and will not ever qualify for the CI. Then my audiologist would only crank up my HAs louder and louder that ended up hurting me instead of helping me. All I can hear at this point is high pitch sounds, so my HAs being cranked up to the max were amplifying those sounds horrendously. I am very sensitive to high pitch sounds and get headaches to migraines from them. So, I stopped wearing them completely. I could no longer wear my HAs and no doctor would allow me to get CIs.
I ended up moving and just went to my new audiology appointment yesterday, and I am hopeful and excited. My audiologist explained that yes HAs do not work for me anymore, but I am not quite ready for CIs yet. But, there is another device that I am a great candidate for, and it is the BAHA 6. I got to demo one and I fell in love. I could hear voices down the hallway, people moving around, and I could hear my audiologist loudly and clearly. I have severe to profound hearing loss, and the BAHA would bring my hearing loss to mild and moderate. I now have to wait for my appointment with the surgeon to discuss it and give me full approval to get them. I cannot wait and I was a little sad when I had to take the demo off and realized how quiet everything is again.

Thank you for this video - it's EXACTLY what I've been going through - received my Baha6 Max (magnetics (2)) in "March" and like YOU the sounds - I MISS hearing 'everything' also - finally made an appointment with Apple to see if it's a phone problem - been to the audiologist numerous times or emailed complaints. It hurts when I go to 'meeting' movies etc. With the sound quality awful! Tomorrow I have an appointment with Apple to see if it IS a iPhone problem and/or if I should upgrade to another newer apple phone that may be more compatible with these Baha6's .... So thank YOU again - now I can send your video to my audiologist (save it to my phone?) to show Apple Tomorrow - your video says it ALL for me. So thank YOU again - stay Cool this summer....

I notice I hear better without the auto noise adjustment feature turn off because I notice soon I hear the tv or radio the sound level turns too low after few moments. This is my third year with BAHA 6 Max. My initial experience was like yours, clear high pitched letters of speech and pin drops. Bat sounds are so clear too!
I had my first BAHA 3 few years back. However, BAHA 6Max solved few problems I had with the previous generations, particularly with deteriorating rubber and thin layer of latex around the pin of attachment to the abutment. BAHA6M doesn't have that problem. In addition, you're right to mention its battery consumption efficiency, my best period was 10 days in spite of my use of workshop tools and loud home cinema!
What I am really hoping for in the near future is a remotely chargeable and water proof BAHA ? Supreme fully equipped with auto-streaming from smart TV's and projectors so as not to disturb early birds when they go to bed. How about the facility of transmitting to your phone with recording function as well ...... what do you think, or shall I say one could record their thought ideas by "talking to them self loud" ;)
Thank you for your greatly helpful review 🤗

My audiologist is kind of all over the place and it was kind of frustrating to get it set up. She didn't even tell us there's an app to control the volume and the program. If you need ideas or have a chance, I would love a tutorial for dummies on connecting to androids. I assumed it wasn't possible. It's kind of hard for me to understand if things are working because my 3 year old is still learning to speak plus she doesn't have a basis of comparison (this is her first one). Also, if anyone got their baha 5 fairly recently, I was told cochlear will upgrade you to 6 for free.

Hello! To connect an android device to BAHA 6, you need a mini mic or a multi mic. In the future, when there's native connection with the LE Bluetooth, it should seamlessly connect like it does with an Apple device. Hope it goes well with you, the audiologist and your child! It's an exciting time 😉

I got my second Baha, the 5 Power in 2017 and wasn't very happy with it. It finally broke last year and I've just gotten approval from my insurance to upgrade to the Baha 6 Max. According to an email I received from Cochlear yesterday I should have my new Baha 6 Max in a couple of weeks. Right now I am without a processor and it's not a good way to deal with everyday conversations. I am totally deaf on one side and the hearing in the other ear is declining. I have high hopes for the new processor!

I have implant right ear (wear a BAHA5 on that ear) and have Ménière's disease on the left which is causing hearing loss. Cochlear tells me I will have to pay $5000 for the upgrade. I have Blue Shield of CA and pay $1,200 a month. Received a letter only 2 years after my surgery that the 5 is discontinued. I've had a very difficult time dealing with Cochlear. My research found that in the past they had to pay a $880,000 fine for getting kick backs. It was a whistle blower case. I really don't trust them now and all of their "advertising" so called thrilled customers. I think these people are paid for their so called "I'm so happy with my new 6" Was this guy paid??

There’s 2 sizes for the abutment extender. My audiologist recommended to use the large one, just a couple mm more, because it’s better avoiding feedback due to friction between the device and the skin after so many years, in my case 20. Well the website says from $750-$1,000 but that is misleading. The full cost is $5,995 I just called yesterday and got that estimate. Then they say it depends on what your insurance will pay. However insurance hardly pays anything. I can't afford the upgrade and even though I pay $1,660 a month premium my insurance isn't really any help. I don't like my 5 and really skeptical about the 6 being worth that much money. It is hard to find honest reviews.

What I really want is to have baha connecting to PC. I have hearing aid connected to PC (listed in Devices and Printers or Device Management under Bluetooth). But the problem is, it doesnt play sound thru my hearing aid. This is Bluetooth LE(Low Energy) device which should be able to work. Any ideas how to work this thing??

Great question. I have never ever connected the BAHA to a PC without first using a mini mic or the multi clip. Both act as a conduit. Perhaps that's what you're missing? I know Bluetooth LE works on some devices but have not seen it work on a PC before

@@LetThereBeEars currently I use Bluetooth device to hook my hearing aid and pc to communicate together. Also tried mini mic 2 as well. But maybe I can look into Bluetooth Le perhaps have app create it to serve the function :/. Thank u for the reply. :)
