I planned on starting Mcafee at 4 am to see the sunrise. I wonder if I would have time to go back to the parking lot after watching the sunrise and drive to Dragons Tooth and complete that before sunset.

That last part of the trail definitely looked a little intimidating to me!😬 And that snake was huge!😳😁 He looked intimidating as well.😆 I’m use to garter snakes around here but, I would definitely be watching where I was walking! 😂 Fantastic share my dear friend. Hi, Alicia! Wow, that hike looks like it would be so much fun! The orange flowers at 046-050 are so pretty! Glad the snake was not venomous. Here in Chicago I think we only have 1 type of venomous snake, but even that one is not very common at all. eastern massasauga rattlesnake it is called. Wow, the end was definitely challenging. Like you said, a dog would have a tough time. Glad you and your daughter got to do that hike before she left. I can see why it is crowded: that view at the top is amazing! Virginia is so pretty!
Hi, Parnell! It was a great hike! We have rattlesnakes and copperhead here. They have cottonmouth in the southeastern parts of the state too. I should keep a better look out on the ground! This video was so timely. I just downloaded a trails app so that I can get more active. Then I saw the snake and the bug and decided I might stick to the sidewalks in my neighborhood 😃. That's so great that you do these with your daughter. Such a beautiful trail too and even better that is well marked. That IS a big snake! You're providing a lot of useful info for hikers. We had a hard time finding info on trails in Colorado and would've loved to find something like this. Glad you got it done too! Very beautiful views!
Just hiked it. It’s not impossible to hike but you do need to be in fairly decent shape. Steady up hill. Your tired when your done. I don’t recommend dogs for the last part of the hike.

Wow! this is a very nice trail!! I can see why it's so popular!!! We love the trails in Ireland too, but.... there is no toilets or trash cans anywhere. So that sucks!! hahaha but there is a lot of secret spots if nature calls... so that helps🤣😂😅Aaaagghhh snake!!!! Thank goodness we don't have those here!!!!

To the top was probably around 1 1/2 to 2 hours for us.
