They should still build this way, with this very arab style, it would be ecological and absolutely beautiful. Please more videos about Emirati's culture, thanks.

Amazing engineering back in those times (centuries), the materials used and preservation of How old the buildings are. Its quiet astonishing seeing this in the 21st century + the knowledge that has passed down from generation to generations. Its a great big world for us to explore and share our cultural uniqueness as one big happy families. Keep up the information shareing and Well done to you Sir. From all the way in The Hapi Isles, Solomon Islands.

I visited this museum on a recent trip to Dubai. It was pretty interesting. They are doing a lot of work right now to the whole area. I will be really excited to see what it looks like when the work is finished! 🙂

When I visited the Emirates, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Emiratis of Iranian origin (khodmooni) get their culture alive. They spoke Farsi openly, and were very warm and friendly to an Iranians of non-southern, Shia background. I'm not sure if my few days there tells the whole story, but it was a nice experience.
I suppose I did a bit of snooty, arrogant behaviour amongst the Emiratis, but I suppose that is to be expected in a place where so many people are very rich.

@2:17 The surface of the walls, who are coated with a mix of mud and gypsum, gets chipped off during summer revealing the grooves of the coral stones.
Where can I find more information about this? Isn't quite a lot of yearly work to chip off and redo all the walls? Or is this a misunderstanding?

What is this Chandler wood, exactly? I have been googling it online and cannot find it. Seems like I don't have the right spelling. Is anyone here able to help? Also, if I understand well what was said in this video, they use coral stone for the wall. How do they form this porous coral stone shown in the video into rectangular, evenly shaped walls? What is the final product of such wall called, can anyone help here?
