  • So a couple years ago I made a Stratocaster from genuine Fender parts and a license body and neck. Here's a link to that video
    • The STRAT Video FENDER...
In this video, I put it up against a genuine Fender player series Stratocaster with all the same parts as my partscaster.
    What do you think?
    Worth $450 more?

To my ears the player type guitar has a richer tone and more bite during your solos.

  • @helcat3567

yeh very hard to pick. so close. but a very intesting video. today we see with the right skill set we can save a good bit of money. so for that the guitar you made wins hands down take care from helcat.

  • @markadams3047

Strats are a dime a dozen easiest guitar to build and modify no need to speed big money for Fender name.

  • @davidvolpe3406

They both sound great. Wow the comparison is surprising to me.

  • @keefardin612

THERE IS A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE YOUR BROWN SUNBURST IS BRIGHTER, BUT THERE AIN'T NO $400 DIFFERENCE

  • @smoothassmooth

Part of the fender sale goes to their advertising. Each guitar they sell a portion of the profit pays for their advertising costs. that is why they charge more .

  • @douglascormany6902

1st off, I think your videos are great. So please don't hate me. But your parts caster has staggered tuners. The high E string tuner post looks a tad higher than G & B. Or is that just an illusion? Oh, and I put a Fender water slide decal on my parts caster. That company didn't get the rights to that name through hard work. They bought it from Leo. I'm quick to tell anyone that's its not really a Fender... if they bother to ask. But on a stage, that logo says I'm serious about my equipment. And I am. My guitar is totally customized to my taste at a fraction of the cost. I would never put my volume knob right where I pick and strum. And I don't want 3 knobs. And my P90s and hard tail with tele style through body strung with no big ugly cavity in the back... what can I say?

I guess the 400 go to quality control, though it is real bad. When you are skilled like you then it's clear which is a better choice. If you have to pick the expensive one, please do yourself a favor and get a Luthier, that way they might cost you the same but at least money goes to 1 more people than a guitar parts manufacturer.

  • @AlexCausey

I agree, the both sound the same. The great thing about the cheaper Partscaster is if your using it for your Gigs you don't worry if it gets dropped, hit with a beer bottle or some drunk throws it across the room because his girlfriend pays to much attention to your playing.

  • @gordonnadell8783

Hey man I watch your a lot I have to bring it up I watch a video you did on PRS..hear. The that guitar was not a $900 dollar guitar I’ve bought 3 of them for my grand kids to learn on they cost me $259 plus tax now own 2 PRS guitars from Indonesia they are built very well in fact all I had to do to was set the action to my liking..and I own 3 very high end PRS’s they are great guitars I very much so do not care for the headstock but I love the way….

  • @anthonyallen7689

The sound was the same to me I really did not hear any noticeable difference.

  • @steveennever9905

I must confess, to me, the Mexican Strat had far more traditional 'Fender' character.

  • @patrickshannon4516

Could not tell the difference but from your end was the playing that different from the two?

  • @gsstrings339

    Yep $400 decal!!!!

  • @IronClan2024

i bought a guitar for 80 bucks and did this deliberatly because thats what i was planing to do. you are very right with what you say. why pay for the name when you can have a way better one without any pain in the but. so here is my plan :

  • @monmac1165

Not everybody has the patience nor the time to make a guitar......your paying for convenience....

  • @GordiansKnotHere

This is a good one because I ask this question to myself all the time when looking at different guitars...

  • @peterburi2727

Split shaft tuners makes lockers unnecessary. I've had them on all of my Fenders since the mid 60s, never had any tuning issues. It's not fun trying to find that little hole on a dark stage...

  • @PhillipBlanton

People who cringe when you use power tools, don't belong here. Guitar scarring goes much faster with power tools.

  • @WilliamLemke-hk2in

I had a fender squire bullet special had to have work done to it
