my oncologist is going to schedule me to OU cancer center for treating SMARCB1-deficent sinonasal carcinoma. I am one of what like 200 cases like mine globally. and this is my 2nd carcinoma cancer. i was in 8th grade back in 1990 with Kemo and radiation (stage 4) . and tumor grew back after all these years and could be the heavy doses of radiation I had then. in May of 2024 this tumor was taken out and ready to hopefully soon get the treatment I need to again be cancer free!
Tumors can be misdiagnosed as SNUC if INI-1 has not been performed. Unfortunately, SMARCB-1 deficient tumors are considered to be aggressive requiring early treatment for the best survival.
@@LewisHassell-OPEN You'll have to help me with how to share my information. I'm not real computer savvy but I'll figure a way. I have a large tumor between my eye's, base of skull and pressing against my frontal lobe. Tumor is protruding out of my ethmoid sinuses on both sides of my nose. Two biopsy reports say its SMARCV1 (INI-1) deficient sinonnasel carcinoma. I'm suppose to start chemo next week. Let me know how to share. I have all reports, CT, PET and MRI
I had 4 rounds of chemo and 35 radiation. It's been 6 weeks, mri yesterday and was disappointing. Tumor only shrunk a little. Dr. Said I can do immunotherapy and going to see surgeon next week. It was inoperable in May, so I'm expecting inoperable again. I really wish I knew how much time I have. Oncologist said he didn't know because it's rare.

So if diagnosed with SNUC could this be SMARCB-1? Is this less intrusive and easier to treat?
