  • Top Gear’s Chris Harris raced a Ford Falcon in the Pierpoint Cup at the 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport - an awesome two-driver race for V8-only saloon cars from the 1960s.
In a field of Ford Mustangs, Falcons and Galaxies as well as Plymouth Barracudas, Dodge Daytonas and more the smaller Falcon was largely outclassed, but with rain on the horizon Harris and owner Julian Balme hoped to spike the the bigger guns.

Some people don't give Chris Harris enough respect, I swear. He's not trying to be the next Clarkson, May or Hammond, he's just presenting in his own way. He seems like a real genuine guy, and a great driver too! He'd be more than welcome to appear on this channel again, in my opinion.

If the BBC wants to compete with The Grand Tour, they just need Chris Harris and give him full creative control over the cars displayed on the show. Let him drive every car or race every event on his bucket list and give it the same amount of care in production value. It would be one of the greatest automotive TV shows in history.

The Falcons was homologated and raced with fiber glass body parts (and aluminium bumpers) back in the day. The modification this car have are a copy of the Falcons you would see in rally or on the race tracks back in the 60s. There's a reason the Falcons was the fastest cars at the '64 Monte Carlo Rally, Ford had gone all-in and showed up with some serious race cars.
